First and foremost: this is not on Lake Roosevelt/Columbia River. We don't want to mislead you, we are a REMOTE property on South Twin Lake, about 12 miles west of Lake Roosevelt, near Inchelium, WA. You will have to drive a long way to enjoy it, but you won't be sorry.
This is a custom designed, built, and decorated log home, post-and-beam style, on a lovely lake. Imagine a family get-together, an artists' retreat, a girfriend-getaway, or a quilters' weekend! Osprey and eagles vie for fish on the water, and the trill of loons at sunset is a thrill. The home is decorated in cozy, bright colors, with leather and log sofas/chairs, a see-through fireplace from the living room into "The Bluebird Room" (a small den just right for a nap). The kitchen is large, with a big log dining table, and fully stocked for the enthusiastic cook! A large deck surrounds the home, and a wide, sandy beach is just steps from the door. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with original artwork and laundry facility is onsite. There are water-toys in the garage, and the nearby community dock is available for day use.

Year Purchased: 1990
My husband and I are longtime "dry-siders" ( loving term for Eastern Washington) and own and operate a small tree farm about 20 minutes away from this property. We are semi-retired, but still working on the ranch, and the tamarack logs in this house are from our own place! We raised our children (and our dogs, horses, cats, chickens, geese, etc.) here and enjoyed many afternoons cooling down in the lake. We have traveled much, in fact, all over the world, and there is just no place like this.

Coffee on the deck in the morning, fishing or waterskiing all afternoon, sipping wine at sunset, watching the waterfowl, listening to the fisherman holler greetings across the water), taking a rowboat out for a morning slide, bicycling along the road, X-country skiing around the lake in winter, seeing the otters play in the snow, celebrating family holidays, walking down to Log Cabin Resort for huckleberry cobbler, playing cards late into the evening, sitting cozily by the fire at night, then, finally, snuggling down into a big, log bed for a restful sleep.

Our family of five loved this lake get-a-way. The house is located right on the beach with access to both a private swimming/sitting dock and semi-private boat dock. The house is very comfortable with beautiful views of the lake from it's wrap around dock. Kids really enjoyed fishing and tubing on the lake. Very quiet neighborhood with close access to resort with store and restaurant. No cell service so be ready to unwind and unplug. Overall, more than we expeced and the owner's were very easy and pleasant to deal
Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers.
