We rented this great house for our family and close friends (12) to stay for several days in June while there for my son’s wedding held at Sugarbush Lodge. Everyone loved the location, quick trips for sightseeing to Burlington, Montpelier and other fun places like Ben and Jerry’s made for a great week. We also loved the seclusion of the home, very private and quiet; all you could hear was the relaxing sound of the stream flowing at the bottom of the hill. The pictures do not do it justice; it is very large and comfy with so many nice areas for those who wanted more privacy to go and be alone. In addition the flow of the house is very conducive for large groups, the dining room was the gathering place and we cooked up some big meals in the wonderful kitchen (the Viking oven is awesome). Even in the summer the sauna and steam shower were very enjoyable. The home was very, very clean and everything you could need was in place and the landlord was very easy to work with, I highly recommend this house for anytime of the year.Did you find this review helpful? Stayed at the house in May to attend our son's graduation from Norwich University. Takes about 35 minutes to get to the campus. House was wonderful Big enough to hold everyone in our group (14) and had plenty of room to socialize. Everyone in our group was extremely happy that we were all together and it added to the fun for the weekend. The house was ready as advertised and all noted amenities were avaiable. The house was clean and there were no problems. Used the kitchen extensively and had no problems. Only negative was the charcoal grill. It really didn't work that well for us, but everything else was great. Would recommend for any large groups and Norwich gatherings.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We host many families for Norwich events. Works great for them and us The standard Weber charcoal grill is not my favorite either, but some people like it. I like gas for convenience when at home, but in Vermont I'm considered a resource-consuming heathen, so I succumb to peer pressure and go with the Weber and hippie/cowboy charcoal. Much more fun when it's about 15 below zero!

This is a very comfortable house for a big group. The kitchen is fantastic with almost every utensil you would need if you are a gourmet cook. We prepared all the meals there in the big kitchen. The rooms are spacious and clean. There are futons in the extra living room for the big guys who didn't fit in the bunks in one of the bedrooms. Calling it a truly ski/in ski/out is a bit of a stretch. It was not an ski trail from the back door. However, we all managed to ski or walk down through the trees and walk up the small hill just fine. Everyone was very happy with the house and we hope to rent it again next winter.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: The property immediately abuts the Out-to-Lunch Trail with direct skiing to the ski lifts and direct skiing back to the property. There are only four private houses at Sugarbush with direct ski access to the lifts- all on the Out-to-Lunch Trail. The house is sited on the property about 40 feet uphill from the trail (see photos). It has a zig-zag ski run about twelve feet wide bull-dozed into the hill and kept mowed and clear, so that any good intermediate skier can easily ski from the back door to the lifts. Novice skiers may choose to walk down the hill to the trail, put on their skis and go. Getting back to the house requires taking off your skis when you reach the property, and walking up the hill- not a problem except for little kids who may need help carrying their skis.

We gathered with our friends for a long weekend of spring skiing. This house went way above our expectations. There was more than enough room for all of us adults and kids + a futon to spare. Kitchen was well equipped and very spacious. Hot tub and sauna were enjoyed by all. This is a place that any of us would come back to in a minute. The kids have already said that we need to rent it again, they had a blast. It was so nice to come home for lunch and ski right out for more. The mountain was great skiing and we had 60 degree weather.. what more can anyone ask for. Thank you so much for opening your house to us. See you again!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It is a pretty neat place.

Very new property that was nicer than the web pictures. The house was clean and kitchen was equipped very well. It was nice not lugging up my own crock pot. A hot water tap for hot chocolate is a nice touch in cold weather and is logically placed out of the reach of young ones. The wood stove is also gated to help keep little ones safe. The 2nd living room on the lower level that the kids preferred was fabulous for them and facilitating adult time. The kids loved the foosball table; we all loved the hot tub and steam shower. There is lots of room for a big group to spread out or come together. New England snow is variable but we had a few good powder days and Sugarbush has lots of terrain to explore. We had good meals out at Egan's Big World and the Easy Street Cafe. Big World was great accommodating a large group. Calling ahead helps. The Smokehouse had good local live music and a crowd of characters (go with an open mind.) I wish we had a chance to get to the Hide-a-way, another local favorite. There wasn't enough snow to ski Mad River while we where there but Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen are plenty large enough. We would recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
