The great location, size of the house, and reasonable price are by far a GREAT DEAL for a family beach vacation!! The Isle of Palms has the only beach in South Carolina or Georgia listed as a Blue Wave Beach! We have now received this award for more than 10 years in a row. We are very proud! For more information on what qualities a Blue Wave beach must have, please visit the “cleanbeaches” website.
More great news! Charleston has just been named the #1 Top City in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler for 2011!!! We have been #2 for many years and have finally earned the #1 spot by overcoming San Francisco! Emmy Award-winning comedy writer and Charlestonian Stephen Colbert spoke very highly of Charleston in saying, “I've been all over the world and Charleston is the most beautiful city I've ever seen.” We all feel very honored and privileged to receive this award; we couldn't be more proud of our city and its 'southern charm.'

This house had the perfect homey feel that we wanted. Had a group of guys who didn't need much and this place met all our criteria and more. Plenty of bed-space, great kitchen area, lots of seating in the dining and living area for socializing. The ample porch space, especially the screened area and the multitude of rocking chairs, made for the perfect place to spend the evening relaxing and chatting. The large dining table sat all ten of our group with room to spare, and the gas and charcoal grills made for some tasty dinners. The decorations weren't over the top like some rental places can be. Between the quaint decor (Norman Rockwell art and framed stitchings) and the family photos from several decades of the owners' family, it really felt more like we were visiting an old friend's house rather than staying at a bland and sanitized hotel or condo. Our whole group loved the place, and we left feeling kinship with each other and with the house. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to save a little money who doesn't want to pay for superfluous decor and sterility of more expensive places.

Interior and furnishings are quite dated. The home was clean and location was good. We were there for a long weekend and did enjoy our stay but think a little updating of the lower floor bedrooms would make the value of this rental better. The living area and kitchen upstairs, bedroom, and bath upstairs were pretty nice.

We enjoy two weeks at the beach...
I grew up going to the Isle of Palms enjoying the sand and surf on front beach or fishing and crabbing at Breach Inlet or in Hamlin Creek. I no longer live in the Charleston area, but my family and I stay on the Isle of Palms each summer to enjoy two weeks on the beach. My kids look forward every year to doing the things I did as a kid plus new ones. It has always been a pleasure doing business with Carroll Realty. We are looking forward to getting back on the beach soon. Rudy Tallahassee, FL
