Round Lake is one of Northern Wisconsin’s premier lakes with over 3,000 acres of crystal clear water. The lake is nearly weed free, sporting a sandy/rocky bottom, making it the ideal lake for swimming, snorkeling or your boating pleasure. If you enjoy fishing, Round Lake is one of the best small mouth bass lakes in Wisconsin. Bring your own boat or rent a boat or jet skis from Round Lake Marina, conveniently located on the lake.
Round lake is surrounded in natural beauty. Our home is located on a quiet bay facing east for spectacular sunrises. There are 4 pairs of bald eagles that nest on the lake. They are often seen perched on the small island only 300 yards from our shoreline. We often awake to see deer or even a red fox in the yard.
Hayward is located only 10 minutes away. This town of 2000 is the outdoor sporting capital of the Upper Midwest, hosting numerous local art festivals, the Musky Festival in June, The World Lumberjack Championships in July, The Chequamegon Fat Tire Mountain Bike Race and Festival in September, and the American Birkebeiner International Cross-country Ski Race in February. Hayward is the home of The National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame and has unique shopping, great restaurants, brewpubs, live music and theater. Hayward has numerous golf courses, including Hayward National and The Big Fish course designed by the world-renowned designer, Pete Dye. The kids will enjoy miniature golfing, go-carting and much more.

Why the Owner Chose Hayward:
For the past 11 years, Round Lake and Hayward Wisconsin have been our home away from home. We spend between 90 and 100 nights a year here (we have another home on the lake). Our Blue Water Memories Home is in a quiet bay offering a very private setting for your Northwood’s get away! The lake is crystal clear; in fact, you can see pebbles on the lake bottom in 20 feet water. Round lake is so beautiful. Even on Saturday morning there is often less than a dozen boats on the entire lake! I do a lot of snorkeling and it is common for large fish to swim right up to me! Our out of state families vacation at our place every year, saying it is the highlight of their summer.
Biking is spectacular on quiet paved roads leading through the Chequamegon Forest, or on the 300 miles of marked mountain bike trails. Our home is only 3 miles from the Birkebeiner Ski Trail, which is beautiful year round for hiking, biking or skiing. We love the winter as much as summer. Endless snow mobile trails wind through the tall pines of the spectacular Northwood’s. Even though Hayward is a small town, it has a gourmet grocery store, great restaurants and bars. There is a Casino just outside of town, not our thing, but many folks enjoy this attraction as well.
