Warrenton, VA is a historic town in beautiful Virginia hunt country in the midst of civil war sites. It is located 40 miles west of Washington, DC. Old Town features many galleries, shops and restaurants that serve local as well as ethnic foods. The town has a new recreation center with exercise equipment and a multitude of classes, as well and an Olympic-size swimming pool, warm water pool and a giant Jacuzzi. For the equestrian crowd there are many opportunities to go horseback riding, take classes in Warrenton or close-by Middleburg, VA (20 min.). Warrenton is surrounded by numerous wineries - Naked Mountain, Rappahannock Cellars, Gadino Cellars, Linden Winery and many more.
Twice a week you have the opportunity to go to the Farmers' Market that offers local foods: vegetables, meats, cheeses, honeys and jams alongside a great variety of flowers. Of course, there are many super markets in town.
The house is a large two-story contemporary with both antiques and modern furnishings. It is very bright and sunny with the main living areas and the master bedroom facing East.
Main level: 2 story family room with fireplace, TV, open eat-in kitchen; formal living and dining rooms, master bedroom suite (queen-size bed)with spa tub and separate shower; hallway half bath. From this level you have access to the deck.
2nd floor: 2 bedrooms, one with double bed, the other with two singles and an office/den with a queen-size sleep couch; 1 full bath.
Walk-out basement: Semi-finished with play area for kids on a rainy day.

Driving distances to Civil War sites, parks, etc.: Battles of First and Second Manassas – 30 minutes; Harper’s Ferry 90 minutes, Antietam Battlefield - 90 minutes. Shenandoah National Park – 35 min; Sky Meadow State Park - 25 min; Dulles International airport - 50 minutes; the Udvar Hazy Center of the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum – 40 min; and to Washington, DC with all the museums (that offer free admission year round!) 1hour 15 min.

Several years ago we moved 40 miles west of Washington, DC to Warrenton, VA. We wanted to be in an area that offered beautiful scenery, a relaxed lifestyle, interesting people, land and sunshine to do gardening. The place we found had all of this to offer and much more. We are surrounded by nature, but yet close to cultural activities.
