Map & Owner's Profile
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose KingfieldThe mountains of western Maine provide the most scenic and diverse recreational opportunities in New England without the crowds of tourists found in more populated and congested coastal areas. The smell of the pine forests, clear fresh water, abundance of wildlife, spectacular mountain views, fine dining and friendly locals combine to create a more relaxed life style.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseWalk into the village or along the three mile trail that follows the river through fields across the street. Collect farm fresh organic eggs for breakfast or treat yourself to goose and duck eggs. Stroll through the antique post and beam barns that once housed 150 head of dairy cows. Pick flowers and salad greens from the summer gardens or ski out on groomed trails during the snow months. Enjoy the privacy that is afforded on this 17 acre property in a village setting.
Owner's Map of Kingfield
As owner of the Mountain Village Farm and the Farm Cottage Gallery, I am living my lifelong dream. The story of how I got here is available for the asking, but let me simply say now that my path to this place has been a great adventure. My roots plunge deeply into New England coastal culture but shorefront gentrification and congestion combined with my interest in exploring another culture led me here to the mountains of western Maine where life seems less complicated and more connected to nature. My fortune is to greet interesting guests from around the world. Come join us and stay awhile.

We've had the good fortune to stay at the Mountain Village Farm several times, and have been absolutely delighted every time. After skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, golfing, or just tromping around in the woods all day, MVF is the perfect place to put your feet up by the fire, recount the tales of the day, and retire to a beautifully appointed room. We've stayed in many VRBO listed homes and apartments, and this remains one of our favorites.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+.
