Our gem of a cottage is located directly on the Lake Michigan beach. It's near the village of Oostburg WI, about 12 miles south of Sheboygan, and 50 miles from downtown Milwaukee. It's been in our family since it was built in the early 1900's. My sister and I are the owners, having inherited it from our parents. It's quiet and peaceful, yet is a perfect place for kids - you won't be able to get them out of the water! We love it because we can take long walks on the beach; wake up at sunrise and watch the sun come up out of the lake; have bonfires and toast marshmallows; see the unbelievable amount of stars at night; swim; or just hang out on the beach. If you like golf, Whistling Straights the course where the PGA was played in 2010, is about a 20 minute drive away.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
Memorial Day through October 6, 2012 - $1,300.00 per week, daily $225. We prefer to rent in whole-week periods - check in Sunday, leave Saturday. NOTE: security deposit required, $250.00. Rates for other than whole week increments to be negotiated before reservation is confirmed. Note: there will be no telephone this year, please bring your cell phone.

The Unique Benefits at this CottageOur favorite activities are having friends over for dinner on the grill; taking long walks on the beach; bonfires on the beach; or just relaxing with a good book. In July and August the salmon fishing can be fantastic.

I am a retired industrial engineer, my sister a retired special ed teacher. We like to say that we grew up here, since we always spent summers here with our grandparents. I have two sons who live in Colorado, too far away to use the place. The place is definitely under-used. So, we'd like to find a nice family or senior couple who would like to rent it each year for the entire summer, but for the moment we're renting it on a weekly and monthly basis.

We spent a week in this cottage over the Fourth of July and it was wonderful !! This cottage brings a new level of meaning to the word "charming"... It had everything we needed (3 adults, two children) and then some...! It is right on the beach. We relaxed, played on the beach, read books....no TV (there is one there but we couldn't figure out how to turn it on) no phones, (altho there is a land phone there) no computers (we left them at home) It was great to see our little girls, 8 and 4, be content with coloring, painting, reading and playing on the beach. I would recommend this cottage to anyone !! Beautiful!

What an amazing week we had! The cottage was just right. It had everything we needed. I'm still dreaming about the deck in back overlooking Lake Michigan and the sandy path that leads to the beautiful beach. Campfires on the beach, dinner on the deck, swimming, building sand castles - all fantastic memories that we will cherish. The kids (2 & 4) were in heaven and so were the parents!

What a wonderful cottage to unwind and get away from it all ! Peaceful, serene setting,beautiful walks on the beach,,friendly neighbors,secluded and quiet ! Convenient drive to Kohler,Sheboygan and Milwaukee. Our teenage boys loved the front sleeping porch with the view ! Thanks for a great memory !
