The apt was beautifully decorated and very clean. The host was gracious and provided fresh muffins and juice. A 5 to 10 minute walk to the subway. The neighborhood is up and coming but we never felt unsafe. We travelled to the city with our two teens who aPpreciated having some space of their ow. Kitchen and bath were clean modern beautiful but very tiny. Loved how the place was decorated. Very charming. Would recommendRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Family of 5 (incl. kids of 9, 12 and 18), we found Debra's flat very appropriate for a 5 night journey in NYC. Close to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the place is 5 mn away from 2 different metro stations, covering 4 different lines (2, 5 , B and Q). Times Square is at 30 mn, door to door, at rush hours. The place is clean, furnitures are nice, beds are confortable (just like on the pictures). Although tiny, the bathroom has all it needs to make it convenient. We thank Debra for her warm welcome (orange juice, water and muffins were nicely put in the fridge for us) and for making our stay as enjoyable as possible. We fully recommend this adress.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and 1 child) thoroughly enjoyed this apartment. We stayed 5 nights and 6 days. Debra ( the owner) greeted us when we first arrived, showed her place and gave us our key. She lives on the premises which made us feel very comfortable. If we had any questions or concerns she was available to us. The apartment was spotless, very welcoming and was exactly the way it is seen in photos on the website. The kitchen is updated and stocked, and the beds were all quite comfortable. It was nice to be in air conditioning as the temperature was very hot when we vacationed ( approx 35-40 degrees) the last week of July. We used this apartment for our visit to New York City. This was our first visit to the City. We used the subway every day to get to Manhatten, taking the 2, 5 or B, Q trains depending on what we wanted to do that day. The subway stations (there are 2 of them, one for the 2 and 5 trains, the other station for the B, Q trains) were approximately 2 and 1/2 blocks from the apartment, ( 5-7 minute walk but in opposite directions). The subway was excellent and easy to use to get to and from Manhatten. The first ride was a bit overwhelming, but the local people were very nice and approachable which made it easy to ask for help if needed. Once our first ride was over, we felt more like pros. On average, it took anywhere from 20 minutes to 45mins, (Battery Park and Central Park respectively) depending on where you wanted to get off in Manhatten. It was very nice to return to the apartment at the end of our day to a quiet neighbourhood after the hustle and bustle of Manhatten. Parking our car on the street was not an issue. The car does need to be moved to the alternate side of the street depending on the day and this can be a challenge sometimes with locals also using the street parking. Once it took us a 1/2 hour to find parking on the street, which ended up being on the next block. We just drove around until we found a spot. Most days it was quick. Laundry facility is approximately 2 blocks away but very clean with many machines. There is also a grocery store right near the laundry facility. There are good restaurants in the area., On Flatbush Ave. we ate at the Brick Oven Pizzeria and found it quite good. All in all it was a great vacation, visiting all the tourist sites of Manhatten with rest and relaxation at the apartment. Debra was a great host and we would highly recommend her place without hesitationRecommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I spent the weekend here with my wife, two young children and parents for a wedding we were attending. The unit is gorgeous- the pics dont do it justice. Plenty of space and wonderful touches: Keurig coffee maker, all appliances, muffins, juice and eggs in the fridge, ample toiletries and linens. Only minutes walk from the wonders of Prospect park and multiple subway lines. Great fast wifi and LCD TV etc, all the comforts of home. Debra is lovely and has a real knowledge of the neighborhood. About the neighborhood, it is "up and coming" which is to say a bit rough around the edges but we never felt unsafe in the least. Easy walk to food options. Would stay here again in a heart beat- best value on VRBO.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My kids joined a summer camp organized by Brooklyn Children Museum and so our family, 2 kids & 2 adults, stayed at this apartment for 2 weeks in July. The owner, Debra, is extraordinary nice & thoughtful. She knew we came with children and prepared eggs, cupcakes and juice in the fridge for us as a good start. The apartment is very clean and neat as displayed as on the photos. Linens and towels like new which you feel comfortable to use. Friendly neighbourhood. Laundries shop and convenient store are just a few steps away. 5 mins walk to Sterling Station where you could get the trains that takes you to Manhattan Midtown within 1/2 hour. It is even more convenient (only within Brooklyn) if you have a car to drive. Frankly say, this is a great choice if you look for an apartment in Brooklyn.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
