The unit is a lovely, well-decorated two bedroom condo. It has a great view from the deck which makes for a wonderful place to relax and read or meditate. The condo is a very short walk to the bay and is close to lots of wonderful bike trails, as well as riding on the beach. We had a marvelous time and the condo provided all we needed for cooking, resting, and everything else we needed. The information I reviewed prior to arrival accurately reflected what we found (actually, it was even better), the owners were delightful to work with, and i would not recommend this property to friends and family, but I would stay here again.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved this villa! We have visited Hilton Head three times previous to this trip - this villa is the nicest one we have stayed in by far. It is bright, clean, and beautifully furnished. This was our first experience renting through vrbo and I was a bit hesitant at first. However, the owner was great and very easy to rent from. We are hoping to return next year and stay in this lovely villa again!

Semi-retired coupe enjoyed Tom and Darlene's wonderful villa and proximity to ocean and south beach...only time w. VRBO when owners took the initiative to communicate ideas and what to expect. Weather very nice in October, we'll be back.

Our family spent a wonderful week at this villa! The location was perfect - close to the shopping and restaurants; right across from South Beach. We spent countless hours enjoying the beach and watching the dolphins play literally 10 feet away from us. We were able to fish and catch a few sharks too! Sea Pines offers plenty of activities for a family with young kids. The villa was well appointed and clean - a testament to the care Tom and Darlene give to this home. The entire process - from booking, to check in and check out was seamless. Tom was always willing to answer our questions and provide recommendations on ways to maximize the time we spent on HHI. Thanks for sharing our villa with us - we had a great time and look forward to returning soon!

My family and I had a wonderful week at this Villa. It is in a wonderful location - close to activities, yet not too busy. The beach is great and is never very crowded. Tom answered all of our questions and was very easy to work with. We've never rented a property using this site before, and we had a great experience. The decor is just as shown, and the property is clean and very well maintained. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who's interested in visiting this area. Nearby activities/areas we enjoyed were the Harbortown Lighthouse, the Sea Pines Forest Preserve, the Lawton Stables, and The Salty Dog area close by. Fantastic Week!

We have been coming to Hilton Head Island for 35 years. We find it a great place to vacation whether you are a family or couple. My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. My son and his friend ages 23 came down the first week. The place was beautifully decorated and clean. As my husband said, it was Marsha clean and that is hard to do. The location was great. Our bedroom was perfect along with the master bath. The second bedroom was good for extra guests. Our view was across from South Beach and walking distance to the Salty Dog. Anything we needed or questions answered, Tom was great. We rented bikes and rode around at our leisure.This condo is definitely one we would rent again.

Our First Hilton Head Family Vacation

This was our first trip to Hilton Head, so we were 'newbies' to the island. Tom was extremely helpful, friendly and informative prior to the trip...giving us ideas of where to eat, bike rentals, etc. All of my comunications with him were promptly answered and detailed. Our trip was also our first with grandbabies in tow, and this villa was perfect for our now growing family. Pictures don't do it justice...it is very clean, nicely decorated, and has comfy beds. Our favorite part of the villa was the location. It is little walks to everything...the beach, South Marina shops, and Salty Dog restaurants. We enjoyed being able to just walk over to the deck area of Salty Dog and listen to music in the evenings. And, the SM bike rental company had our bikes already in our bike racks...ready to go our first morning....the babies loved the baby tow behind cart! We will definitely come back and stay at the Shreck's.

The pictures of this villa do not even do it justice. It is fresh, clean, light, and well-appointed. The owners were excellent to work with and available any time we needed them. We had a slight problem with the keyless entry, and because we had been up traveling since 3am, we were VERY eager to check in (they even accomodated us with a bit of an early check-in!). I was afraid they would take a while to get in touch with but they were available as soon as we called and walked us through the problem. I think it was just user-error! :) They even sent us a nice personal note once we were back at home. We would certainly stay there again. We loved being within walking distance of the South Beach Marina stores and restaurants. You can definitely see more of the beach than what's pictured online. I could see dolphins in the morning from the kitchen table while I sipped my coffee! There are beach chairs and toys, which we greatly appreciated since we had flown there and couldn't bring our own. They also provided three packages of dishwasher detergent, which was just enough. (So many places only offer one and then you have to go buy a whole container for just a few days.) the proximity to the beach was great as well...just a short walk. We would highly recommend this property.

Fantastic 2 bedroom condo with a great view of the water through trees... the owners were super helpful and accommodating to any requests. Early morning bike rides throughout Sea Pines and convenient access to Salty Dog. Unit was clean and well maintained with plenty of extras.

We rented this villa from the Strecks for the month of March 2012. The villa is beautifully appointed, bright and cherry. You truly feel like your on a restful vacation every day you wake up! With views of the sound from the deck and dining area; very comfortable furnishings; cleanliness; and attention to detail, this villa makes for a very good choice for vacationing. Tom and Darleen are excellent hosts. Tom is extremely responsive to any questions or concerns. Darleen was as equally responsive to any needs we might have. The area itself is perfect. We enjoy Sea Pines and this was our fourth vacation here. We've stayed previously at the Marriott time shares and this villa is on par with these resorts. With walking access to the Salty Dog, we didn't have to worry about cocktails out and driving home. If you like biking and/or walking, bike trails are right outside the front of the building. Bike rental prices vary, so shop around. Most places will deliver to the villa. Restaurants are plentiful. The ones we especially liked are Roastfish and Cornbread, Sunset Cafe, and the Salty Dog, We took the boat ride over to Dafuske Island and it was worth the money. Price included the boat trip (about an hour), golf cart rental for sightseeing, and a buffet lunch. We were very surprised to find the buffet lunch extremely enjoyable even though some of it was standard fare. No matter what you do, even if its just hanging out, you'll be comfortable in this villa and will find that working with Tom and Darleen will be a delight.

This place is just what we were looking for in a vacation! The villa was clean and very tastefully decorated and had everything we needed--coffee pot, wifi, iron, even washer and dryer. Tom was very accommodating and provided all the information we needed before our stay via email (maps, keyless entry instructions, etc). We rented bikes for the week and biked the beach most mornings. On a calm day in the South Beach area the water is more like a lake than the ocean, and dolphins are everywhere! I would also recommend biking on the many bike paths throughout Sea Pines. It is such a beautiful place! In the afternoons we played tennis at Chaplin Community Center, which has the nicest outdoor public courts we've ever played on. We dined at Salty Dog, Mellow Mushroom, Sea Shack, Crazy Crab, Kenny B's, Wild Wing Cafe and Nick and Jim's. We also took a trip to the outlets on one of the cooler days.

This villa was beautiful, as other reviewers have said. It looks exactly like the pictures - beautifully updated, with a well-appointed kitchen. Everything was very clean. We particularly liked the front door lock (no key required so we didn't have to worry about forgetting it!). Tom is very friendly and helpful in providing information about the villa and local area. The location is good, walkable to the beach and the marine area with its restaurants and shops. The reason we rated our experience as good, not excellent, is that there was a construction project going on across the street for 3 of the 4 days we were there; it was noisy and blocked our view of the sound. The project was short-term in nature, though. The villa itself was excellent.

We enjoyed staying in this beautiful villa. The pictures and description are very accurate. It's clean, modern and very nicely decorated. As this was my first time using VRBO, I was a little apprehensive. Tom was helpful, communicative and very accessible. We loved the location and the fact the bike trail is right out front. We rode on the beach and all the beautiful paved trails of Sea Pines Plantation. Having all the shops/restaurants of the South Beach Marina just across the parking lot, as well as bicycle rental, was very convenient. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their property. I definitely look forward to coming back and staying here again.

Perfect location and an excellent value. Photos and description are accurate. Clean and well-maintained. Very comfortable beds. We rented bikes, took early morning walks on the beach and discovered many sea creatures. We did drive to SeaPines Beach club for a day at the beach as well as walking to South Beach. Sea Pines Beach club has ocean front dining. Loved Harbor town and the Bakery. Best dinner was at the Wreck of the Salty Dog. Took a trip to Savannah, for Paula Deen's home cookin' and made a quick stop to the outlet mall. Loved the Key-less entry. Never had to worry about a key!!! Perfect place to stay with children. We have many good memories of our vacation to this Sea pines Villa. Tom was very hospitable and easy to work with.

The moment we walked through the door we realized we found the perfect spot! We've been to HHI many times and have never stayed in the same place twice. But this one is a keeper. The layout and decor is perfect for a family of four and the location can't be beat. The condo was very clean and well maintained. It looks just like it does in the photos! The condo is a two minute walk (just through the parking lot) to South Beach Marina and Salty Dog. The condo is also a 5 minute walk to the beach. Tom (the owner) was an absolute pleasure to work with. He answered every question we had quickly and thoroughly. We got home last night and miss Hilton Head Island already! We can not wait to go back!

Immaculate, beautifully decorated and includes everything you need for a great stay! Even lovelier than than the photos, the condo. was spacious and well appointed. The starter pack of dish powder, paper products etc. was a big help after our long drive. The furnishings looked brand new and were very comfortable. Short walk across street to peaceful clean beach, where dolphins swim by constantly. Children will love seeing Sea Stars, and Hermit Crabs and the water is clear and calm. A short ride by bike to Tower Beach, where the waves are bigger for Boogie Boarding and there is a shower and restrooms. Our girls did the Banana Boat ride (from Salty Dog dock) and the parasailing (from Harbourtown )and loved them both. Walk to the Salty Dog by crossing the condo. parking lot, and your shopping, entertainment and meals for the week are all in one place! Choose from several restuarants, or have pizza, or grilled fare on the dock! South Beach Bikes delivered our bikes and picked them up at the end of our stay, for a reasonable price. Tom's communication with us was always courteous and helpful. All this, coupled with this wonderful home, made for a great vacation we look forward to repeating soon. Welcome to paradise!

We stayed at this condo in April 2011 for one week. What a beautiful condo. Well kept, great decor. Location is ideal...right across the street from the beach. Very quiet area. Great biking trails. We absolutely recommend this condo to anyone looking at staying in Hilton Head. A must do is going to Savannah, Georgia for a day trip. It is well worth the drive. Tom and Darlene are wonderful hosts. They are very helpful in answering any questions you may have and providing you with information about things to do and see.

Thank you Darlene and Tom for hosting such a beautiful condo. The vaulted ceiling the interesting plan and the nautical motif as well as the granite counter tops and maple cabinets in the kitchen all made for a wonderful stay. The view of the Calibogue sound from the condo was gorgeous. We enjoyed the location close to the Salty Dog and Harbour Town, the beach, bike trails and Coligny with the restaurants and shops. We stayed at this condo for our honeymoon in August. The location was ideal! Walking distance (literally steps!) to the beach and South Beach Marina. The condo was very well appointed and extremely clean. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back for our anniversary next year!

Tom and Darlene's condo is a beautiful place to enjoy a week at Sea Pines. Their renovations are beautiful and we felt very comfortable. The condo was very clean and Tom was quick to respond to any of our questions. The location is perfect for the beach, walking to the Salty Dog, or riding bikes. We hope to be back next year!

We loved this condo! The pictures say it all, it was so nice, clean & had everything we needed to enjoy our beach vacation. Sea Pines has a lot to offer, golf, tennis, great bike trails, entertainment for the kids & of course the Salty Dog. Tom was very easy to work with, I would definitely recommend this condo to friends & family.

Tom & Darlene's villa was beautiful and in the perfect location! We have been to Hilton Head three times prior and thought this villa and location was the best. We really liked the convience of being near the Salty Dog Village and The South Beach Racquet Club. We rented bikes right next to Salty Dog and took a bike ride every morning. Tower Beach is a short ride away where you can park your bikes. Both the Atlantic South Beach and Tower Beach were very quiet and peaceful. For more action (and lifeguards) - we went up to Sea Pines Beach. Overall, A++ Tom was also very responsive and accomodating.

This villa was extremely nice and clean - the new granite countertops, tile floors, and new carpet were a big plus! We loved how the villa was so open...especially the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Also, all of the beds were so comfortable. No pet hair or smoke smells! Yeah! The outside of this villa complex was one of the nicest we've seen on Hilton Head. The owners were extremely easy to work with and answered any questions for us. We loved going on the Gypsy dolphin cruise right out of the South Beach marina. The pool was also nice as we went there everyday. We walked across the beach path that you see in the picture, but was a little disappointed in that it was (1) the Calibogue Sound and (2) also seeing Daufuskie Island on the other side of the sound. So, we rode our bikes up the road about a mile to a beach access. This was perfect so that you really only saw the ocean...plus it was even more private. We'd definitely recommend this villa to others!

Too bad we didn't know until now that you were looking for Atlantic beach access. Since the villa is at the junction of the Atlantic and Calibogue Sound, there is a beach access to the Atlantic about 100 yards from the villa. I'll send info to future guests on where the access point is. Thanks again.

My family was lucky enough to be the first ones to stay in Tom and Darlene's condo after it was remodeled. They didn't miss a detail. The decor is perfect for a beach condo and it is a very roomy 2 bedroom condo. This is my 5 rental off of VRBO and Tom was the easy person I have worked with so far. I highly recommend this condo and the location.
