SUN, SAND & SURF
The unit is located on Playa Venado, within 50m (150ft)of the high water mark. Playa Venado is one of a handfull of beaches that has received for the past 7 years the coveted "Blue Flag" designation, the highest standard for quality achievable as determined by the Costa Rican authorities.
Relax in the comfort of the large well appointed lanai overlooking the beach and watch the constantly changing seascape with a 120 deg vista. Bask in the gentle, warm, dry breezes as you watch pelicans soaring in formation over the beach then diving for lunch. The secluded 1 1/2 km Playa Venado beach calls out to be walked at low tide to search for sand dollars and seashells during the day.
If the timing is right at night, you might happen upon a giant Leatherback or Olive Ridley sea turtles coming on shore to nest. Sixty - ninety days later you might come upon and help the baby turtles out of their sand nest and help them dash to the relative safety of the sea. If there are no turtles, stop and gaze at the canopy of stars, the Milky Way, Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Southern Cross, Cassiopeia, and thousands more as they twinkle over head while your feet are caressed by the warm ocean waters below. Bonfires at night, sand castles during the day, snorkeling on the black lava reef just in front...lots to do on and around the beautiful beach.
Inside, enjoy the well appointed modern, fully equipped, kitchen with big island, great for gourmet entertaining or prepping an intimate dinner for two. Large wrap around windows bring the sea to you as you linger inside.
The newly renovated decor features rich Cristobal a local wood, in the kitchen and all the baseboards, marble on the floors, comfortable rattan furniture, modern window treatments and lovely local art pieces. Each bedroom has it its own air conditioner and ceiling fan to ensure your sleep is comfortable regardless of what it is like outside. High quality linens add to the enjoyment. Both bathrooms have been renovated in the same style as above.
Unit #3, is part of a small 18 unit condo complex that has a large 25 m pool and tastefully landscaped inner court yard with a variety of palms and flowers which attract a number of colorful birds. Comfortable chaise lounges and chairs make for great sun worshipping space or even more decadent, lay about in the pool in our floatees. A built in pool bar is great to sit at to watch the magnificent sunsets and even,if you’re lucky, catch a fleeting glimpse of the elusive "green flash".
There is a full time English speaking caretaker who lives on site to help in emergencies and the English, Spanish, German speaking property manager for unit #3 lives a few minutes away. It is a safe, gated community with 24 hour guard coverage.
The condo is also for sale.
Just another day in Paradise!

Why the Owner Chose Playa Junquillal
Sun, sea and golf in a quiet, laid back, rustic, eco-friendly environment, in a very stable country with a great climate, is what attracted us to Las Brisas, Playa Junquillal, Guanacaste, and Costa Rica. Playa Junquillal, a small, laid back, tranquil commmunity of only 100 full time residents that swells to 200 during their summer...Dec to March. Although off the tourist trail, it is just over an hour away from the closest international airport, Liberia, with lots of airlines arriving from multiple US, Canadian and European destinations. You can keep yourself busy every day or just soak up the sun and read that pile of books that have been calling to you for months. The weather is ideal 85 degs F +- 5 degs, /29 deg C +- 2 deg, with no rain from mid Dec to mid April. Typically, the humidity is around 40-50%, with warm, dry, winds blowing offshore during the early part of the day ...very pleasant and it helps set up the waves right off shore for surfers. In the late afternoon, the cooler breezes blow on shore.
The abundance of flora and fauna makes this a bird watchers haven. Zip lining; rafting; kayaking; mud baths; thermal pools; volcanoes dormant and safely active; trekking by horseback; mountain biking; history and culture tours; river expeditions; sunset cruises on catamarans; golf; tennis; offshore fishing for tuna, snapper, and sail; night life and shopping; are available for 1/2 or full day trips. If golf attracts you, a challenging Mike Young designed course at Hacienda Pinilla, is 30 min away with special pricing for unlimited family weekly play.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
The new Supermarcado in Junquillal has most food stuffs, but if you need some harder to get NA/European foods, Tamarindo or Santa Cruz, both only 40 minutes away, have bigger stores with greater variety.
There is an array of great restaurants within 45 minutes of the condo...local Tico and upscale foreign run places cater to most palates at reasonable prices. The local watering hole, Adrianna's, is great beach bar to stop at sunset to have a cold Pilsen or Imperial. Meet the locals, Ticos and snowbirds, and find out more about the attractions of Playa Junquillal, new restaurants, or new spots to visit.

We stayed at Las Brisas in January 2011. We absolutely fell in love with this Condo and Costa Rica and its people. The Condo is a luxury upgraded unit, with ALL the amenities you could ever want. Unobstructed beach views and sunsets are guaranteed. The most people we ever saw on the beach at any one time during our 2 week stay was 4!!! Talk about private and romantic! The pool area is lovely and you are surrounded by nature - palm trees, beautiful birds and very nice residents in the complex. The owners are extremely welcoming, kind and inviting. The property manager will drop by to address anything you need (for us, a burnt out light on the lanai!) You will definitely need an SUV to get around on the roads and a GPS is very handy, since roads/highways are not marked on the local maps. You can explore the local sights and restaurants, or go as far afield as Ricon de la Vieja and Palo Verde Nature Park, where you will see LOTS of amazing animals and plant life. We loved this Condo so much that we booked for the next year before we left last year!! We ate out on the lanai most nights, listening to the waves roll in and out. There is a local Mercado near the Condo, or larger grocery stores in Tamarindo and Santa Cruz. We are looking forward to our 3 weeks there in January 2012. Amazing Costa Rica in an Amazing Condo!!
Owner response:Thanks for the super comments. Yes you are booked for next year. Enjoy the summer.

My wife and I just returned from spending a 10 day vacation at this property and we can't say enough. If anything, the pictures we had seen dont even come close to doing it justice. It is a wonderful location, the atmosphere is sublime if you are looking for a quiet, laid back atmosphere (which my wife and I both needed) and the other tenants were wonderul and very welcoming. This property is beautifully decorated and beautifully kept and you have all that you need for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen is great and offers pretty much everything you would require to cook a decent meal. If you decide that this is for you, I would strongly recommend that you "get into the grove" and enjoy the surroundings and it's people. Great "hole in the wall" restaurants in the middle of nowhere where you can have interesting meals. All in all, you can't go wrong!
Owner response:Thanks. Sue & I are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully we will see you next year. Pura vida eh!

Gorgeous wide beach; stunning coastal views; elegantly tasteful furnishings; fabulously appointed kitchen; beautifully manicured gardens; welcoming and refreshing pool. The unit is spotless, fully equipped and expertly managed. Thoughtfully the condo owners provided a "Guide to the Enjoyment of Las Brises". It included very useful information on shopping, groceries, restaurants, sports, entertainment and so on. But it is really all about the setting. The velvety dark brown sand and the percussive crash of the surf proved both hypnotic and restorative. Sunsets induced a serenity that left us feeling complete at the end of each day. For we city folk the night sky's clarity and enormity intrigued us. The phosphorescent waves rolling onto the beach delighted us. Late one night a huge Leatherback turtle nested on the beach near the condo. We were privileged to witness this prehistoric being as she laid her eggs and covered her nest, timeless. Our holiday exceeded our expectations in many ways. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Like the Leatherback we plan to return.
Owner response:Jim, Thanks...very eloquent review. You have captured so much of what we find so intoxicating about the place. Hasta proxima ano

I love Playa Junquillal having visited twice now, and, honestly, am hesitant to post this review because I don't want too many people flocking there (one of the best things about the beach is how few people are on it!) Las Brisas is a lovely place and this particular condo is just beautiful. We stayed in another at Las Brisas a few years ago that was nowhere near as nice for around the same cost. The condo complex is safe and the caretaker who handles everything for this condo is very helpful and super cool.

The listing description and photographs were very current and accurate. In fact, the location is even more spectacular than you could ever imagine. The property is very clean and well maintained by friendly staff. The owners gave me great information and helpful tips to fully enjoy my vacation in Costa Rica. The condo itself looks like a home you would see photographed on the pages of an In Style magazine with a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean. My favourite thing to do is take a nap on the beautiful lanai and listen to the sounds of ocean. The location is very peaceful and yet close to many activities, attractions and restaurants. If you are the adventurous type there is zip lining, horseback riding, snorkelling, golfing and much more close to the condo. So whether you want this trip to be a relaxing romantic one or an adventurous one this is the dream vacation for you. I am already planning my second trip to Costa Rica at this particular condo. I think you will fall in love with it as much as I have.

This unit is just remarkable. It is exactly as the owner describes. I felt like I was on a movie set. I was lucky enough to see whales playing out at sea, families of monkeys in the trees, and also helped in the release of the baby turtles! All very special memories for me. I enjoyed my first visit so much I have now been back two more times! I have and will recommend this vacation to all my friends.

John and Sue are gracious hosts who made extra effort helping us to get oriented during this, our first trip to Costa Rica. Staying at their newly renovated luxury beach-front condo in such a peaceful and idyllic setting resulted in the perfect winter getaway for us. We made a number of new friends here and visited many of the local restaurants, some of them more than once. We never had a bad meal. Highly recommended!
Owner response:Thanks for the kind words. We are pleased your enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you back again next year. You will be pleased to know that the bathroom renovations are both done and they look great!...marble floors, solid wood cabinetry with granite tops. Sue & John

This is a beautiful condo to stay in, right on the beach next to the Pacific Ocean. It has all the amenities anyone would need. Good restaurants nearby, and excellent food to buy at the local Supermarket if you wish to stay in and cook. Very relaxing and you can do as much as you want, or as little. One thing a 4 wheel drive might be nice if you plan on going on the back roads.
