We cannot say enough kind words about the owners and the people in the area. We had driven through the night and were going to arrive before our check-in time. A quick conversation later and we had no issues getting in. The cabin itself is very nice. It has a screened in porch overlooking the water which was nice when the wind calmed down in the evenings and the mosquitoes were out. It also has a nice porch that overlooks the water as well. We made good use of both. We also used the provided kayak and canoe and explored the bay. We had mentioned to the owners that we had decided to stay there because we were hoping to find Champ - the local sea creature. They took time out of their day to tells us all sorts of stories and shows us different things around the lake. It was really nice of them to do so. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the utensils and cookware we needed (regardless of what some of the locals may say, you simply cannot beat a delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy!) The beds were comfortable and the fridge was cold. Burlington is also a quick drive away and has some breweries that were fun to visit. We would definitely come back! Thanks for making this a wonderful trip!Owner response: Thanks guys!! We enjoyed helping you on your quest! You couldn't have asked for a better weekend, great sunsets and calm water for your search. We still expect a copy of the documentary. Mark and Martha

This cottage is the last one in a small compound of about 15 cottages right on the lake. The water wraps around the front and side of the cottage, and the effect is like being on the bow of a boat. There is a small private "beach" with a sandy bottom. We basked in the sun in beach chairs, and watched the phenomenal sunsets in a different outdoor location each evening (there are two wooden decks as well as the screened porch and beach). The cottage is clean and the kitchen well-stocked. The king size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We took our boat and enjoyed exploring the lake and islands, especially breakfast on Burton Island State Park and dinner at Shore Acres on N. Hero Island. The owners are very friendly and responsive to any needs, but not intrusive. We would stay there again and not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Upstairs there are 4 twin beds. Downstairs are 2 baths. So this is good for girlfriends/guys getaway, as well as family with 4 kids.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 11/11
