Ronda: The stunning hilltop town of Ronda freely exhibits a fine selection of the qualities that we covet most. Here you will find tranquility, a rich and diverse history and an authentic Andaluz atmosphere. It is also a perfect location for easy sorties to the nearby coastline, the beautiful unspoiled interior or to the equally beguiling cities of Sevilla, Cordoba or Granada. Perched on a ridge and encircled by the mountains of the Serrania, Ronda old and new is divided by a dramatic river gorge whose plunging 90m drop is bridged by the Puente Nuevo. On either side of this 18th Century engineering wonder an eclectic mix of architectural styles stand testament to the diverse peoples that have fought over, occupied or just simply visited the town over the centuries.Arab, Moorish, Catholic and Muslim influences can be clearly seen in the fine facades of the old quarter alongside remarkable Renaissance buildings.
Local Andalucia: Further afield through a landscape of craggy sierras forested with cork, holm oaks and the indigenous Spanish fir lies Sevilla, a city that lives life to the full. The luxuriant jungle of botanical gardens that is the Maria Lluisa Park, the once Jewish quarter with picture book wrought iron clad houses and the vast cathedral are just a few of the good reasons to visit.
Heading west you will find Arcos de la Frontera, an original frontier town from the old Muslim kingdom of Granada. Built entirely upon a rock overlooking the Guadalete River it is a spectacular sight. The vineyards and wineries that start in earnest after Arcos leave no doubt that you are entering the world capital of sherry production – Jerez where the names of the landed dynasties are known worldwide. A visit to the bodegas is fascinating but do not overlook the fine horses, flamenco and fiestas for which this city is also famous.
The stunning stretch of coastline known as the Costa de la Luz is perhaps Andalucia’s best kept secret. Virtually unknown outside Spain the magnificent fringe of golden sand that stretches practically unbroken from the Portuguese border to the Straits of Gibraltar totals a staggering 138 km of natural and virtually unspoiled beach. Boasting a sunshine record to rival anywhere in Europe the omnipresent sea breezes serve to temper the heat and ensure that even at the hottest times of the year comfort levels remain high. To write a brief description of the Costa de la Luz and mention only the wonderful beaches would be a grave injustice as the region boasts a wealth of attractions just waiting to be discovered. Nature lovers will find some of the finest natural parks in Europe right on their doorstep.
There are 4 double bedrooms. One of those bedrooms is upstairs, has a double and single bed and is accessed by a private staircase with lobby area. The lobby area has 2 single beds. This upstairs suite is ideal for a family of 5. If there are only adults in the party then the villa would be more suitable for 8 people....moreless
