This was our 6 year old's first time and Granby was the perfect place for her to learn. The condo was great and allowed us to spend more time together and skiing-- it is right there. I would warn it is only a ski in, ski out after you can ski down a green. We weren't able to use that feature at first, but once all three could ski a green, the ski in, ski out feature was fantastic - would come back to Granby and to Mountainside 102!!Did you find this review helpful? The condo was very clean and absolutely perfect for the 4 adults and 3 children in our group. It was excellent to ski in and out at Grandby's slopes during the day. We went skiing two days in a row, so renting the equipment and keeping them in their locker spaces were great to avoid checking them out again! The owners were very kind and helpful! We loved the hot tub in our room after skiing, and we even ventured out into Winter Park to ski one day- a very easy, short trip (15 min. or so). In the end, we would return again to this condo! WE HAD A PERFECT VACATION...Thank you!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family spent 4 nights here in February, on one of the busiest ever weekends at Sol Vista, and had a great time. We had a housekeeping issue when we arrived but a call to the owner was immediately answered and the problem quickly resolved. The condo is even nicer in person than the photos show. There was plenty of room for our 3 adults and 6 kids to spread out. We all enjoyed a dip in the hot tub after a long, cold afternoon of skiing. The kids also loved warming up in front of the fireplace and there was plenty of seating for everyone to watch TV in the evening. We had 4 kids in ski school so the location close to the lifts was nice--just ski down the hill and you are at the lift. I would recommend driving down and getting your skis the night before, though, so you don't have to take that long hike back up the hill! It was nice to be able to ski tired, cold kids back to the condo, grab a bite to eat, and then ski right back down to the lift. The tubing hill and snow playground are just at the bottom of the hill, too. A very nice maintenance man got 4 sleds out for us to use while we were there. (If the tubing hill is busy there aren't enough tubes to go around). Ski school and the rental shop were crazy busy! Get there early and fill out the paperwork in advance. Sol Vista is small with short, easy runs so it is great for beginners and kids. Advanced skiers or those skiing for more than a day or two might get bored. We skied three days and the third day was the best with the kids finally getting the hang of it. I am a moderate skier, maybe I go once a year or two, and I enjoyed the easy runs. I like taking it easy down the hill and not having to work so hard. I thought that even the blues were very easy, like greens at other resorts, but we stayed on the greens with the kids just learning. We tried out the Maverick Grill in Granby, and it was great. Nice place, fast and friendly service. Delicious food. I had the Chicken Alfredo and it was so good I was sad when I was full and couldn't eat anymore. Another day we tried the wood fire pizza place. We had a pizza and a baker's dozen of the pepperoni rolls and ate every last one of them. Lastly my husband and I went out by ourselves for a drink and dessert at the Brickhouse 40. We each had a drink and then shared a slice of chocolate cheesecake--boy did that hit the spot! There is also a nice City Market grocery story very close by with everything that you might need or want.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Thank you so very much for sharing your mountain home with us. We had an amazing time. Sharing skiing with 3 of our 4 children for the first time, It was awesome being able to walk out and ski right down to the lift. All we can say is it was awesome. We would definitely like to come back again in the near future. Sol Vista is an awesome place to take beginners as well as for us seasoned skiers. Our kids did not want to leave. Thank you again for allowing us to have an amazing family weekend. Hope to talk to you again soon to come back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Overall had a very good time at the condo. Competive rental rate. Owners were very nice and even helped us to secure discount lift itckets for our stay. The slopes were well groomed and not very crowded - ideal for kids. The condo was roomy and comfortable for our large family, well stocked with kitchen utensil, pots, pans, and even some toys and board games. The hot tub was a hit with our family. A little trek from the condo to the front of the building but the building right next to slopes allowing for ski-in/ ski out - often left the skis on the hill when we came back to condo for lunch. Convenient to grocery store a few minutes away at the entrance to Granby Ranch. Wi-Fi signal was not always that reliable (e.g. movie streaming for the kids) but adequate for e-mail and such. Owners were open to questions/requests and overall, fair in dealing with deposit/payment issues. Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

About the owner: One of our favorite places - Monarch Lake.
Why the Owner Chose Granby Ranch (formerly SolVista):
We love Grand County!! There is so much versatility of activities to do. Skiing in the winter and golf, biking, and fishing in the summer. We enjoy fishing at Lake Granby and Williams Fork Reservoir. We love Monarch Lake near Lake Granby for fishing, hiking and the beauty of the mountain view. One Mama Moose likes to frequent there. There are osprey nests to observe in several locations. There are hiking trails for the avid hikers to overnight. Rocky Mountain National Park offers so many activities with hiking, wildlife watching (elk about dusk) just inside the park. Kawaneeche Center has a movie and regularly scheduled Ranger talks - one even at night. We also love Grand Lake, the town, with its unique shops, paddle boating, boat tours, and more at the beach. Near the town is the Adams Falls hike that is only .3 miles up to the water fall.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our kids and grandkids enjoy the ski area since it is ski in/out. There is a kids/beginner chair lift just for them. There are regular ski slopes for beginning to advanced. We love the golf course -not only playing, but the serene feeling you have there. Hiking to top of the hill to the gazebo gives good exercise and a most gorgeous view.
