The listing was very accurate, the property in great condition and just perfect for a family get-together. The owner is just the right blend of helpful and unobtrusive ... We had five couples, three kids ... and ended up augmenting our sleeping arrangements with a beach-front condo, so that everyone would have their own bathroom/bedroom. Three couples and the kids stayed at the house. But I mention the size of the party because the house was the center of operations for the entire week, and we couldn't have asked for a better equipped, more comfortable home for our extended family hang-outs. The recreational equipment in the garage ... from Ping-Pong to golf to darts to pool toys ... all got good use. If you are eating in, be advised: This kitchen has everything you could want, and the equipment is excellent, high grade pots, pans, utensils, etc. The kitchen is more than up to the task of breakfast, lunch and dinner for a crowd! The range is gas, but there is a microwave, too, and a Jenn-Air barbeque (probably the only thing that I'd recommend that the owner upgrade!). The seating area is flexible enough to accommodate up to eleven people, if you use a spare bedroom chair and the bench seat at the end of the dining area. High chair is provided. (Actually, the baby equipment - cribs, potty chairs, whatever -- is more than sufficient to take care of your little one's needs.) Laundry facilities are easy to figure out and much appreciated, if you have kids or are traveling light and need clean clothes. If we return to Kauai, we will definitely be booking this property again! Thanks, Ty and Ariana, for providing a wonderful house, just as advertised ... a setting for some wonderful family memories.Recommended for: Families with young children.

Our family of 4 + Grandma stayed here for 2 glorious weeks. The neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful, we couldn't help but relax and enjoy ourselves. The house and property were well-stocked with fun family things to do, like board-games and a ping pong table, which kept us occupied during some rainy days. The pool and hot tub were a big hit with the kids and Grandma, and the HUGE yard allowed the children the freedom to run and explore. The covered deck in front of the house was our favorite place to sit and read and enjoy the views (even in the rain!). Ty was super helpful when we needed him, but not at all intrusive. What a wonderful holiday in a breathtakingly beautiful place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This home was comfortable and inviting, a delight to wake up to early in the morning and equally as peaceful to fall asleep in come evening. The kitchen was great to work in even with many cooks! The kids enjoyed the pool, hot tub and grounds and all the toys! We already dream about a day we can return to this home and the always beautiful island of Kauai.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

A magnificant property that exceeded the expectations of our family of three generations. We made full use of all the amenities described on the site. The kitchen is superbly equipped. The attentive ( but not intrusive ) owner lives in the area- a significant advantage. A rural ambiance and yet only a few minutes to shopping and beaches. Will be recommending to our friendsRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My extended family stayed here and had a blissful time. We did not want to leave. The house is beautifully appointed with lovely touches (love the surfing theme) and everything was so well stocked with tons of amenities. The wrap around porch was divine and the swing was to die for. My kids could not get enough of the acreage, running around all over the place, the lovely pool and the motorized cars. The surf shack was amazing and had endless goodies. We cooked several large meals and utilized the fantastic kitchen and BBQ. Ty was so wonderful, helpful and accommodating and takes such great loving care of the house and it shows. All in all, a perfect stay in the perfect place in the the most perfect place in the world - Kauai! We are definitely coming back to stay as long as possible! Mahalo!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I could not say enough good things about this home, a beautiful well maintained property enhanced by tropical beauty all around! The privacy and peaceful surroundings inside and out will surely make you throw your plans out the window and stay put some days! We had the pleasure of meeting Ty the owner one day and he was very nice even giving us a tip on a locals beach Maha 'ulepu which we loved...so thanks Ty! My husband & I rented this property to be on the south shore but away from the resorts and busy tourist areas as we were celebrating our 10yr anniversary and wanted a little extra privacy...we could not be more pleased. The location of this home in Koloa could not be more perfect for ease of seeing the entire Island. We were able to shoot up to the north shore 3 days out of the 10 we were here and did not feel at all put out by the drive. I highly recommend this property if you are looking to stay on the south shore, want a peaceful setting, privacy, & all the comforts of home. You cannot go wrong! I am already planning a return trip to celebrate my 40th birthday in a couple of years.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our entire family of 14 stayed at this beautiful place (in varying shifts) for one month. It was absolutely, positively perfect! The entire plantation home and setting is well appointed for a family, both adults and children, to have an ideal vacation. There were days when we felt no need to go anywhere else and chose to stay "at home". Everything we needed was there from towels to pack and plays to games to beach gear and even golf clubs. Ty and family were attentive to all our needs complete with arriving with a generator when the entire island had a power outage. They could not have been better hosts. The listing reflects the plantation accurately except it cannot show how much fun we all had there! We will be backRecommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

- this is hands down the best vacation house we have ever stayed at and it is such a great deal for your money! At first I was apprehensive about not staying near the beach, but it was totally worth it! The house is beyond beautiful and inviting, it is fully stocked with everything you can think of - including cooking spices, sunblock, kids toys, movies, books - basically everything you could ever think of using while on vacation without having to pack it or purchase it while you're there. They even have bikes that we rode to Poipu beach and back one day. The property is huge! We ate the avocados from the yard that are gigantic almost every day. There are fields of horses all around the property. My 3 year old is still talking about his "vacation house" even though it was over 4 months ago. I definitely look forward to going back to this house and hopefully staying longer next time. We are trying to book our summer vacation house in Yosemite right now and can't find anything to even compare to this house, this has definitely raised the bar for what we expect from a rental home now.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful 1-month stay at this beautiful home. It is spacious, old world plantation style but has been updated with a clean, contemporary look, there is a nice breeze that comes through that keeps the indoor temperature cool, there is a lot of natural light, the grounds are very large and amazingly beautiful and well mantained. There is a view of the horses in the pasture across the street from the front of the house. It is very spacious, peaceful and quiet. There are many things available such at a BBQ, pool and beach toys for the kids, rafts and inner tubes, beach chairs, a cooler, kids trikes, etc. We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen that was very well equipped. It is in a great location, just a couple minutes drive to old Koloa town, Koloa Fish Market, Sueoka Store and snack shop (good lunch plate) and Big Save. Just a little further down the main road there is the Kukuilua Shopping Center which is new and has lots of nice shops and restaurants such as Josselin's Tapas Bar & Grill and the awesome (but expensive) Living Foods Market which makes great food too (try the pizza). There is also a weekly farmer's market at the baseball field a minute down the road. Poipu Beach and Baby Beach are not far at all, as well as Maha'ulepu beach, which is a little further but worth a visit. The owners were very helpful and attentive and were there to assist with anything we needed or any questions we had. We feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience a stay at this incredible place and look forward to our next!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family stayed several nights at this glorious home in Koloa, and we were absolutely enchanted. The owners have not spared any details -- it is beautifully appointed in an old Plantation-style. The property is huge -- 3 acres -- and we had a lot of fun playing golf, swimming in the pool, playing ping pong and running around with the kids. We loved biking around the area, too. You could spend the most relaxing vacation and never even leave the property, but we used the house as a staging ground for the quick trip to Poipu beach (kids loved the waves, and the house comes with all the boogie boards, towels, and beach stuff you need), and day trips to Waimea Canyon and Kokee. The house is "upcountry," meaning it's about three miles from the ocean, but the gorgeous grounds are tropical and beautiful, and you will definitely feel as if your daily grind and stress are in some remote, very distant corner of the universe. We spent 4 nights here and 4 nights on the North Shore in Princeville. It was a terrific way to explore Kauai, and we would do it exactly the same again. Do not hesitate -- this place is absolutely amazing!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Aloha! We are a local family comprised of a "professional" wife and mom to our four little children and husband/ father who's vocation is carpentry, property management and of course dad!! Blessed to be raised on Kauai (my wife Colorado), we love surfing, water, gardening, working and playing with our children, painting, building, spending time with our dear family and friends and always enjoy meeting new people over a good barbecue.
Why the Owner Chose Koloa:
This is the "Street of Dreams"! A beautiful solid, well kept plantation home surrounded by wonderful neighbors, a stroll to Old Koloa Town, minutes from the beach, but not in a resort style neighborhood, on acreage! We love this style of home and look forward to blessing our guest as well as our family and friends with a wonderful retreat.
The Unique Benefits at this Estate:
Upon viewing the property, we both fell in love. The home is a charming, very well kept plantation home surrounded by wonderful neighbors, a stroll to Old Koloa Town, minutes from the beach - all without feeling the least bit "resorty." We could only dream of one day moving there ourselves and look forward to blessing our guests as well as our family and friends with a wonderful retreat.
