Casa de las Conchas is a dream 4500 sq ft beachfront caribbean vacation home, situated right on the white sandy beach at the quiet residential community of South Akumal. Conchas sports 4 large bedrooms all quipped with King beds. The huge master bedroom on the upper floor is the entire length of the house and complete with a small living area, patio doors out onto the oceanfront terrace, it's own dressing room, and a huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub!
The second upper bedroom also has doors leading out onto the ocean front terrace. Conchas actually sports over 2000squ ft of outdoor decks and balconies! Wake up to the sparkling Caribbean sea and the sound of the water lapping against the shore. The 3rd bedroom on the upper floor has a great view over the tropical gardens to the rear of Casa de las Conchas, and also leads onto its own ensuite bathroom and ocean view kitchen, dining, and living area (with double pull out bed for extra sleeping). This bedroom also has it's own access from an external staircase so is ideal for those looking for a little extra privacy.
As we go downstairs we are welcomed by the large family kitchen leading onto the living area and ocean front dining room. There is plenty of seating for large groups to dine together here. If you don't feel like cooking then we can highly recommend hiring the housekeeper Chayo to cook you and your family a feast of delicious local delicacies or traditional mayan cuisine! Upon arrival at the villa you will be greeted by a complimentary gift basket of tequila mixers.
In the northern part of the villa there is a further 4th bedroom with King sized bed and again it's own ensuite and separate kitchen and living area. This fourth bedroom, like the garden view bedroom upstairs, also has it's own additional independent access.
From the living room walk out through the patio doors onto the outdoor terrace with 2 large dining tables and chairs for wonderful Caribbean alfresco breakfasts in the sun, daytime BBQs, or dining under the stars. Take a dip in the great freshwater swimming pool or relax on white sandy beach under one of the house's 3 thatched palapas. The bay at Akumal South is protected by a double barrier reef just 100m offshore making the water in the bay very calm almost all year round and awesome for snorkeling. For this reason it is home to a whole host of tropical reef life including endangered sea turtles who nest right here on the beach from may to September every year. The villa offers 3 kayaks for guest use so grab one and explore the bay!
Dont miss taking full advantage of Casa de las Conchas huge roof terrace! The villa also has a Vonage phone with free land line calls to the US, Canada, and some European countries, 3 sets of golf clubs, and 2 complimentary one hour massages.

My wife and I, together with 4 close friends, just returned from a week at Casa de las Conchas. We are now experiencing collective withdrawls. The house, nestled on a quiet street in close proximity to a pristine bay and within easy beach-walking distance to the quaint town of Akumal, served our needs beautifully. The house is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The housekeepers and cooks extraordinaire, Chayo and Felix, were excellent and made every effort to ensure that our stay was relaxing and worry-free. Our group is already looking forward to our next opportunity to spend some special time at Casa de las Conchas. Thank you Guille for managing our stay with such pleasant efficiency, and to Marcia Kirby for your valuable assistance in planning our stay.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

We stayed at the Casa De Las Conchas over Christmas. We had rented homes in the past and I was a little disappointed in this one. Although it was very clean and maintained, the housekeepers were there every day all day long. Even coming at 8:00am the day we were to leave? There was no privacy. Also the mattresses on every bed were VERY hard and uncomfortable and we were disappointed to find out that there was no gas grill but some sort of home made grill. We did love the Turtle Bay Bakery in Akumal. Excellent food and they deliver also the beaches in Tulum, amazing
Recommended for:Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We had a fantastic time. The property was just as described and exceeded our expectations. The beach was beautiful and the snorkeling in the bay was exceptional. Guille, Chayo and Felix took great care of us and Chayo's cooking was fantastic. My kids could not stop talking about her Chicken Maya. We would recommend the property to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation in a simply beautiful setting. Thanks again for the assistance and recommendations. Also, Sahara Cafe on Soliman bay was simply exceptional. One of the best meals I've ever had and I've had the pleasure of eating in some of the best restaurants in the world. Great setting with fantastic food and very good service.

I just want to tell you that we all had a fantastic time at Casa de las Conchas. The setting was just what we wanted...the beach ,pool, Xel Ha, shopping trip to Playa del Carmen,etc. etc. My sons went fishing one day and caught 6 huge dorados. We only ate 2 and gave the rest to Chayo and Guille. These 2 ladies were a great help and Chayo cooked "comidas tipicas" for us one night and was enjoyed by all. I had plenty of time to practice my spanish and that was a big plus.So once again, muchas gracias for all your help. perhaps we will go back to Akumal another time soon!

The area is secluded and safe, close to local restaurants, grocery and tourist shops. The staff, Guille, Chayo and the maintenace man helped make us feel at home and exceeded our expectations with thier service. They kept the beach and outdoor area clean, opened up fresh coconuts from the garden, provided fresh fruit for breakfast daily and kept the house and kitchen in order. We enjoyed a meal prepared by Chayo and Guille helped by getting the groceries so we did not have to lift a finger. Guille also arranged for a "spa day" so we could enjoy massages and facials without leaving the house. I hate to give too good a review since we really feel like this was our new secret vacation destination!
