Our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teens) enjoyed the bungalow. We did LOTS of sight seeing: Studio Tours, Hollywood Blvd., UCLA, Santa Monica Pier, Santee Alley & the Bungalow is conveniently located to everything! It was an added bonus to come home and relax with a wonderful book, we appreciated the selection. Mary Ann was awesome to work with, we have stayed at many VRBO homes before & she has been by far, the most attentive. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we even stayed an extra night which Mary Ann easily accommodated us with. You won't be disappointed by staying at the Bungalow. Thank you Mary Ann!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Well done with the decor and and art deco details. Also, very comfortable and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay at this charming bungalow nestled in the heart of Hollywood. You can tell when owners love their home and these folks love theirs. Owners were very helpful and easily accessible. They even loaned me their phone for an important, unexpected business call.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This vacation rental lives up to its description and exceeded our expectations. The house is cozy and the owners have worked to keep the period feel with the furnishings and artwork. The bed is comfortable and was large enough for us to share with our six year old. the bathroom is beautifully done and facilities work well. The yard area is quite small but worked fine when we had a few friends over to visit. the owners are vey helpful and include loads of information in the house for you. this is very warm, inviting and a perfect location from which to visit LA. we had a marvelous time and our LA based friends were pleasantly surprised that we could land such a great house for a reasonable price. my favorite aspect is that this home had so much character and is so homey that you feel like you are staying in the home of some really cool friends while they are away rather than in an impersonal rental space.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I spent approximately 11 weeks at this charming house. We loved every minute. It was exactly as stated. ---the location is wonderful. All the places of interest are literally within walking distance. The photos are perfect. What I especially loved was the extensive reading library !! The property was very tidy and clean and both Mary Ann and Bob were great to us and our pets. Our dogs loved the little backyard and adored both Bob and Mary Ann.We did have a car but we walked to so many spots--Kodak Theatre, Hollywood and Highland, the Archlight Movie theatre . Most of all I loved to walk all through the Hollywood Hills with my husband and pets. I did lots of cooking and the kitchen worked fine. I could walk to the Farmer's Sunday Market--great, fresh foods. Or I jaunted down to the Yucca Market where I was on a first-name basis with the people. As you can deduce--this was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the Art Dec Bungalow.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.

Wonderful home located in the center of Hollywood. Quiet neighborhood, very clean and easy access to all that we needed to do. Felt like we were living there rather than visiting! The owners were especially accommodating and very kind--like visiting friends. We will go back and stay again. Would highly recommend for a great LA experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

The Hollywood Bungalow was the perfect place for our stay in LA. For one of our few trips to Southern California, It is close to all that Los Angeles has to offer, yet seems miles away from the glitz and grime of Hollywood. We enjoyed our morning walks in the neighborhood and the small backyard and barbecue was nice for entertaining family and friends on one of the few nights we didn't eat out. We would stay here again when visiting the area.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We had a great time in L.A. and our week long stay at the Holly Dell House made it all the more enjoyable. All the little touches gave us the nostalgic "Hollywood" vibe we were looking for and the location is fantastic literally minutes away from everything. My teenage son stayed in the office/guest room, he was very comfortable and enjoyed his privacy. We brought our small dog and she was delighted by the small, sunny patio out back. It truly felt like staying at a relatives and we were able to come "home" and relax after our busy time in the city. Mary Ann and Bob were friendly, accommodating, and very accessible. We would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We feel truly fortunate to have a home located in a safe neighborhood that is still within walking distance to the Heart of Hollywood. Being a romantic, I wanted the home to have a classic Hollywood feel that complimented the vintage of the home and neighborhood, so our guests could feel like "stars" from the Golden Era.

We stayed over July 4th weekend with our 2 small dogs and it was great. Cute little bungalow right in the heart of hollywood. Had a great time!!!! Thx.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We love dogs and their owners! We strive to be responsive to all inquiries in order to give our renters -- 2-legged or 4-legged -- the best possible experience at a price you can afford. We like to talk to our potential renters before they commit to make sure we are doing everything we can to make their vacation or business trip the best that it can be. We are here to help from finding scooter rentals, to recommending restaurants, to securing tickets to local events. More than just a hotel room, our home is your home.

Owner response: During the year that we have been renting our home, perhaps the best thing has been meeting great people from around the world. Owner info
Year Purchased: 1992
About the owner: Bob is a native Californian (and Native American) who moved to Hollywood from the outlying suburbs to be a musician. Mary Ann moved to California from Chicago to work behind the scenes in the film industry.
Why the Owner Chose Hollywood:
May 2010 is the first time that we have opened our home to guests, but as romantics, attracted to the lure of Hollywood, we decided it was a good idea to share our cozy Hollywood bungalow with visitors from around the world who share our fascination with this city of dreams. Over the years, Hollywood has undergone a Renaissance from faded glory to its current status of hip and trendy. The house is in the Hollywood Dell area of the Hollywood Hills, one of Los Angeles' premium residential neighborhoods originally established in the 1920's. This well maintained, generally upscale area is quiet, yet close to all the action. It is also dog friendly as long as you scoop the poop. We will do our best to make your stay enjoyable and memorable.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Location, location, location! Because of it's proximity to the Heart of Hollywood and the Metro, which will take you into downtown and other areas of interest, you won't need a car to explore the sites. You can enjoy the city without being stuck in traffic or paying for parking all the time. If you decide that you need a car, even for just a few days, the local Enterprise Car Rental will pick you up and return you to the house.
