Set amid 40 acres sprawling over a hilltop above the Gartempe Valley, Le Repaire is a classic French farm in a courtyard setting. The 19th Century stone and red tiled roof barn has recently been sympathetically converted to provide three large and luxurious holiday villas ('gites'), 'Hirondelle,' 'Martinet,' and 'Gartempe.' Each villa offers luxurious accommodation, with attractive original stonework and exposed beams, tiled and wooden floors, and private gardens with patios and furniture. The gites are beautifully decorated and furnished. Each also features gas central heating and double-glazed windows and doors for out of season comfort.
Gartempe is a four bedroom gite with huge rooms and expansive views over the Gartempe Valley. Feature stonework, exposed original beams throughout, and log-burning fireplace. Large, fully-fitted, eat-in kitchen, very large dining room with antique oak farmhouse table and gallery landing above, huge lounge with comfortable sofas - all with tiled floors and superb uninterrupted views over the Gartempe Valley. Separate reading/TV/video room and half bathroom. Four wooden-floored bedrooms upstairs, one king with en-suite bathroom and large corner bath, one double, and two twin bedrooms. Large bathroom. Comfortably sleeps eight (ten by arrangement).
Hirondelle is a three bedroom gite with spacious rooms and distant views of Bellac and Peyrat-de-Bellac. Exposed beams and original stonework throughout. Large fully fitted and well-equipped kitchen and large utility room, huge open plan lounge/dining room with comfortable sofas, chairs and dining table, cloakroom and half bathroom - all with tiled floors. Upstairs with wooden flooring throughout first floor. Bedroom #1 overlooks the courtyard and has one double bed. Bedroom #2 overlooks the private garden with views towards Bellac and has two single beds. Bedroom #3 overlooks the garden with views of distant Bellac and has a double bed. Large bathroom.
