We (7 people) were celebrating my mothers 80th birthday with an oval weekend in Rome. The first guests arrived midnight on Wednesday and were received by the nice housekeeper Rosaria which showed us the appartment and left us with the keys. The rest arrived noon the day after. And again Rosaria met up, locked us in and showed us the appartment. The appartment was very nice with four big bedrooms, and four bathrooms. The kitchen and dining place is not suited for large dinners, but for breakfast and making some snacks it works very well. A little suggestion would be to replace the grand desk in the livingroom with a small sofa group to relaxe in after a long day of walking. The appartment is very central to most attractions in Rome. Only a short walk from the central train station and subway. About 1600 meters from the Spanish steps. We did a lot of walking that weekend. Compared to other appartments with four bedrooms it is very nicely priced. We had a very nice stay in Rome and I have no problem to recommend this appartment.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We needed a large apartment for 9 people (4 couples +1) and this B&B was just right. The owner Caterina dealt with every question professionally and in a timely manner and afterwards she tried to find some photographs we thought we had left. We arrived by train to Termini station, it was a short walk (we had lots of luggage as we had just got off a cruise ship in Venice). We managed to get to the location no problem but with all our luggage I think it would have been better by cab....Anyways we were met on arrival by the friendly cleaner and she let us in and showed us all we needed to know. As for the apartment. Spacious with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, clean and modern. The kitchen was slightly small, but that was ok as we did not intend to do much cooking. Breakfast supplies were left for us, but remember this is not N.America, expect a Continental breakfast. There is no service, it was help yourself, but we were happy with that; as far as we were concerend we were renting an apartment. Cereal and milk, juices, tea, coffee cookies etc were left for us. If you are looking for a cooked breakfast head down the road a couple of blocks to the restaurant called Y. Its actually a youth hostel but it has a sidewalk restaurant, and will serve hot food. There is also a great coffee bar right outside the door of the apartment which was very convenient. If you need groceries a store is a 2 minute walk away. The bedrooms were great with lots of room and cupboard space. There was air conditioning in the bedrooms which was nice as it was quite hot and muggy. There was free wifi internet, a real bonus and necessary evil these days. There are 4 bathrooms. 3 are adjacent to bedrooms so during the night the 4th bedroom shared one of the bathrooms for convenience. The 4th bathroom was adjacent to the kitchen, contained a full bath and was very clean and new looking. There was a large living room with doors that opened onto a small balcony. We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on it overlooking one of the embassy gardens. The apartment location is ideal and a short walk to the 'blue' subway line (3 - 4 minutes). Termini station 7 - 10 minutes. We did take a taxi to the Coloseum area, cost 9 euros. When we discovered the subway it was more convenient and faster and cost 1 euro each for 75 minutes time period or 4 euros for the day. The cleaning lady was friendly and helpful, overall the unit was clean and modern. Ideal for our group. I will recommend this unit to anyone.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I and our 3 sons and 3 of their friends enjoyed our stay in the De Medici House. It was spacious, clean, perfect for the 8 of us. The air conditioners in every large bedroom worked well and kept it very cool in 90 degree weather. The owner was so helpful in every way. We liked being a short walk to restaurants, grocery store, and train station. I have recommended it to friends already and would definitely stay there again. Great Value too. Forgot to mention, awesome bathrooms and balcony!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Mrs and Mr E., thank you very much for your wonderful words. I am happy to read that your stay was so comfortable, it is my goal to make customers satisfied and happy with their stay. I look forward to host you or your friends again in the future, I extend my greetings. Caterina

I would never recommend this apartment to anyone because it turned out to not have the amenities as described. We rented this 4 bedroom apartment because it had a/c in all bedrooms. When we arrived in July there was only 2 functioning a/c units, 1 was not working properly and leaking a lot of water so we couldn't set anything on the floor, and 1 didn't work at all. The street was very noisy at night so without a/c it was difficult to sleep. When we contacted the owner after an hour of our arrival she promised us that someone would come that night to fix it but they did not. She promised that someone would come the next day but they didn't. When i spoke to her after 2 nights without a/c she asked me what I thought was fair as a refund and we agreed to 100 euros for each night without a/c. When they came on the 3rd day to fix the a/c units only 1 was fixed so we had two more nights without a/c in one bedroom but she wouldn't discuss any further refund. The other big issue was that there was only enough hot water for 1-2 showers in the morning even though the owner assured me that 20 people could shower at one time when I told her that we were having an issue with hot water. We had 5 out of 7 people taking cold showers each morning. The living room had no sofa as described only an office desk, 2 chairs, dining room table with 4 chairs so it wasn't comfortable for our group to gather. The MonteCarlo hotel across the street was incredibly helpful to us when we had questions. Although the apartment was in a convenient location and fairly clean (i did find a dusty prune behind one bedroom door!) it was not as described and the owner didn't follow through on correcting the serious issues that i discussed with her from the beginning of our stay.Owner response: I must say that this is a very unique review, and I am happy to highlights comment and properly respond to every single complain Mrs Rita has wrote here: 1) 4 brand new a/c are into the flat, one in each room.It is true that the same day Mrs Rita has arrived with her family , one stopped to work. It was a Sunday and I had no chance to call anyone to repair the a/c. I assured that a technician would have come the day after. While this a/c’s are new and top brand, only an authorized technician would have be able to repair it and unfortunately it took’s two day to find the technician and fix it.I have to say that those days the weather in Rome was luckily fresh and not hotal all.Ventilators where also available in the house. Also I followed Mrs Rita every day with almost 10 phone calls per day,and the housekeeper was there to manage their problems everyday.I apologize for this inconvenient. I must say that before their arrival, another 6 member family was there , and no complain was issued. I asked Mrs Rita how I could apologize , and I offered a refund of 100 Euro , but she asked for 200 euro.Which I paied! 2)About the hot water , while a new and bigger boiler was put in 2 week’s before their arrival, it is strange that Mrs Rita and her family was not able to have showers.I checked again with the help of a plumber and everything was working properly. I am sorry to say that Mrs Rita was only happy when I agreed the refund and not the repair. She was calling me 10 time a day, only for asking refunds...she asked half accomodation and when I reply that this was unfair, she told me that it was my choice to have or not a “review”. And here is it! 3)Regarding the noises, the House is located in a quiet area and the house faces the garden’s of the Uk Embassy ,and on the other side to a secondary road. Perhaps the noise was that of transporting garbage and clean streets that there is throughout the city and usually at night. 4)We never describe the lounge with the sofa’s, but (please check the picture’s) we have table, four armchairs and 10 chairs among the flat. Thank you anyway for the review Mrs Rita, criticism can be constructive and next time you will come to stay with us, I make sure that everything will work as per your needs, as per my habit and my professionalism. Caterina de Medici.

I booked this for two nights in July 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartment was spacious, in a nice neighborhood (near the Turkish and British Embassies) and had all the amenities that were promised. There was some confusion connected with my booking, but the owners responded to the problem promptly, courteously, and responsibly. The property is located about two blocks from the Metro, so transportation was easy. Only shortcoming was that the hot water was quite limited. It may not have been working properly, but with the size of the apartment it is foreseeable that more than a couple of showers will be taken in the morning. I would recommend this rental to anyone.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you Mr B. for your review and for recommend the House to new guests. For your information a new and bigger boiler has been put just after your departure in order to serve all the apartment without limits. Grazie ed arrivederla a presto, Caterina
