  We had the opportunity to visit Kailua in 2010 and decided that, if we return to O'ahu we would definitely want to stay there. When we were planning our trip, we were fortunate enough to find the amazing rental property. It was perfect for our family of four! The location cannot be beat - it's close anything you will need or want, and the beach is very easily accessed. Dick and Wanda are wonderful hosts. Thanks for the wonderful memories (and sorry it took so long to send this in!).

  How sad we are to be leaving our home away from home. After two months in this comfortable, completely clean apartment, it is difficult to leave. Dick and Wanda, thank you for being such gracious hosts. Your unit is exactly as you advertise: a few steps from one of the world's best beaches, incredible views of the mountains and bay from the upstairs bedroom, and completely equipped for comfortable living. We walked to town frequently, especially enjoying the Thursday evening market and newly begun Sunday morning market. With Whole Foods, Safeway, several major drug stores, and many boutiques in Kailua, we had everything we could need for our time here. Driving to Honolulu was a quick 20 minutes or so, and with a car we could access any part of the island within an hour. Whale watching near the blowhole was one of our highlights, as was viewing the turtles near Haleiwa. Daily walks on Kailua beach started many of our days off in a most relaxing manner. We will miss this paradise. PS. I do not know where the nickname came from, which this website said they would use for my review. I cannot change it.

  This property was perfect for our family of four. It is centrally located with great beach access. The unit was very clean and fully functional. Loved walking over to the Kalapawai Market for coffee every morning and enjoying it on the front patio or beach. This unit has everything you need including bogey boards for the kids.   Everything was great! plenty of room, great view and Susan was very accommodating. The house had everything you need. Hope to meet Wanda when we go back.. Susan we miss you and it hasn't even been a week!

  We stayed at this wonderful home last May 2011. Susan was our "neighbor", since Wanda and Dick were gone on vacation. We felt like we had been a part of their neighborhood from the very beginning. The beach is to die for. We took early morning walks (7:00 a.m.) in our bathsuits. The weather was wonderful, the accommodations are excellent. We have great memories of this vacation and have fallen in love with Hawaii, the people, and the culture. A must do is a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center (go the full nine yards for a guided tour) and the bountiful Thursday Farmer's Market in Kailua.   We have stayed with Dick and Wanda six times over the past several years. Each visit is a MOST pleasant experience. They are not Landlords, they are friends with great suggestions for activities and restaurants. There is no more exciting experience than to rise early and watch the sun rise beside the Mokaluas, buy a paper and great Kona coffee at the Kalapawai and enjoy them on the Lanai with a gentle breeze keeping everything a perfect temperature. Come. You will never regret it!
