Biddeford Pool is a hidden gem which so many people have never heard of. A little neighborhood where time has stood still at the end of a peninsula where Fortune Rocks Beach is a stones throw away. Our home sits in the middle of this neighborhood and is perfect for a family of up to 5 or 6. It is 1 block from the water with ocean views. There is a rocky beach with huge rocks to climb and dive off of into the ocean about 100 yards from the house, also a great place to look for sea glass too. The 2 mile long SANDY beach is a 5 minute walk away. Fortune Rocks beach is a glorious stretch of soft sand. At low tide, you can walk out several hundred yards. We usually walk the beach for a few minutes to get to the public beach which is life guarded, and also has public restrooms and snacks for sale. You can also drive to the public beach if you have a lot of belongings, or ride one of our bikes.
The yard is large and beautiful. We have a gardener help keep up our flower gardens. There is plenty of room for kids to run in the grass, play games, etc. There is a deck on the front, and a large back deck with a picnic table. We provide a Weber gas grill, several bikes and lawn chairs which you are free to use. We had our outdoor shower rebuilt last fall. The inside of the home is in great condition. One bedroom has two twin beds, the master a queen bed, and the other bedroom has a double bed. There is a futon/sofa downstairs. As you sit in the living room, you can look out of the large windows to the ocean. There are 2 televisions with cable TV.
Portland is 20 miles north, and Cape Porpoise and Kennebunkport are just down the road. Great restaurants in Cape Porpoise or K'port are 10-15 minute drive on a coastal road, along with plenty of shopping or antiquing. There are several big beaches which you can try (old orchard is very close) but it is so easy to go walk to Fortune Rocks you probably won't bother. At the end of Fortune Rocks is what is considered one of the best places to surf in southern Maine, even if you don't surf, its fun to watch!

About the owner: family of 4, two teenage boys age 13 and 14. we enjoy traveling, all sports and currently live in Minneapolis.
Why the Owner Chose Biddeford Pool:
We have vacationed in Maine for 14 summers. Andy (dad/husband) grew up in NH and we have many friends in the area.

We love the beaches in the area, Portland is 30 minutes away, plenty of great places to bike ride or walk, wonderful restaurants within 20 minute drive. The quaintness of Biddeford Pool and its tranquility is as good as it gets in New England.
