We just left the house today after a 1-week stay. I couldn't wait to get home and write a review so everyone could see it. This is not a house rental - this are great people who have opened their home for others to enjoy. We've done a number of family vacations with the children and grandchildren mostly to Florida on the beach with the ocean. All of the grandkids said that loved this vacation more than Florida because there was so much to do and being able to kayak and use the row boat on the lake was just awesome for them. For the adults, we have never rented a house that truly met our expectations vs. what you see and read on the rental websites until now. When you hear the owner say "all you need to bring is your beach towel", he isn't kidding. The house is so well furnished we felt at home the moment we entered. Everything was wonderful. I can't speak highly enough about the rental, the area, the friendly store-owners and residents in Vermilion or the owner of this spectacular house. Definitely a vacation location you'll love.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and I stayed for a weekend plus a day to celebrate my mother's birthday. We had an amazing time. The house is very nice. Extremely clean, roomy, updated kitchen, wonderful living room with amazing views of the lake. The lower level with the pool table, foosball, sauna, and hot tub (which we didn't even end up using) was also great. But the rest of the property may even have been better than the house! The wraparound deck was perfect for all of us to hang out on and we really enjoyed relaxing on the hammock. And the private beach was perfect to enjoy the sunsets. We had mixed weather but even when the weather wasn't perfect we still were able to enjoy the lake from the house. The owner is also great to rent from. My highest recommendation for this home.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Just returned from a week stay at this home in Vermilion. The description does not even touch on how beautiful the home is. Pictures do not reflect the actual beauty inside and out of the home and area. Most comfortable home ever - all beds, sofas and chairs are comfy. The entire living/dining area look out huge widows to Lake Erie - the view is stunning and relaxes you instantly. The home has two living rooms and large bedrooms so no one will feel cramped. The deck is large with numerous deck chairs and ottomans which make it very comfortable. The lake breeze keeps it cool and bug free. More chairs available at the beach as well. The home is very well stocked from kitchen cookware, barware, appliances to towels and cleaning supplies. The house was spotless when we moved in. We have stayed in numerous VRBO rentals in the past and have never found such a wonderful home. Kayaking the lake was delightful. Watched the sunset every night! Large lawn to play croquet or bocce. Just amazing! Dan was great - answered all our questions in advance and followed up after our stay as well. Many things to do in the area - wineries, erie islands, cute shops and Cleveland is only 40 minutes, but then again why not just stay at the house. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. I know we will return someday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for the positive comments and thank you for staying with us. We work very hard to make our home an enjoyable lakefront getaway. It is always rewarding when someone appreciates it as much as we do. Dan and Judy.

It has taken me a while to write a review because I wanted it to describe our stay at this wonderful vacation home perfectly. It was a great house for a totally relaxing vacation. The house is as described by the owner. The views are breathtaking. We really liked watching the sailboats out on the lake. The master bedroom was splendid and we so enjoyed listening to the water at night. The TV was an added bonus! The bed was comfortable too! I should add that the whole house was clean and not lacking for anything. We enjoyed the private beach and nighttime fires. We made use of the pool table, foosball table, hot tub and sauna. The deck was very enjoyable and we had many dinners using the patio furniture and umbrella. The kayaks were enjoyed by all and we appreciated that there were life jackets and many other "toys" available for our use. Having six adults in our group, it would have been nice to have a double bed in the third bedroom but you can't have everything :) The washer and dryer sent us home with clean clothes and not much to do in the way of laundry upon our return. We enjoyed the town of Vermilion with its quaint shops and cute restaurants. We did most of our own cooking but did grap a few quick lunches/dinners out. My husband had a lot of fun cooking on the charcoal grill (as opposed to gas) and our steaks were out of this world! We took in all the usual Lake Erie sites and attractions, Cedar Point, Put-in-Bay, and golfing. The hammock is situated just in the exact right spot to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. The outdoor clothesline was an added convenience too. I have been a little hesitant to share how this wonderful home truly added to our family vacation because I want to make sure there is a week every summer that will be available to my family for rental - I am being selfish!!! Dan, the owner, was great and available to answer all of my many questions. He was very prompt in returning out security deposit too! Thanks, Dan, for renting out your home so that families like mine can make great memories!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a wonderful home in a beautiful town. Vermillion is a great town and close to all of the area attractions. The house on the lake was amazing. A truly private beach with a fire pit made our evenings so relaxing. There is a fishing pier which entertained our children all day. The home was clean and so many extras were provided like bikes and kayaks. The sauna and hot tub were also added bonuses. My husband, who has a stressful job, said this was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for the nice words! It is always rewarding when a guest enjoys the place as much as we do.

The home was in excellent shape and was stocked with all the amenities you will need to have a great time. The views of the lake from the deck and the hammock were simply amazing (my dad may still be there). We got alot of mileage out of the kayaks and even caught a glimpse of the Bald Eagle on our first evening. We had kids ages 6-9 and they had a blast from the beach to near by Cedar Point. The only minor drawback was the beach was full of sticks and debris when we first arrived. The owner had a rake in the storage shed, so I took a few minutes and cleaned it off. Good as new. Highly recommend Berardi's Restaurant in Huron. Best french fries on planet. My 5 star is a white sand beach in the Carribean, but this is definitely a getaway that will slow things down for some great rest and relaxation.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks for the positive review. June was a very turbulent month weather wise. We have a limited amount of time between guests, sometimes the beach does not get raked but we do have the rake available. It is common for the beach to change several times in one week. We strive to address everything but nature is in charge on the beach. That is one of the beauties of a Lake Erie beach, you never know what treasures you might receive.

Our family chose Lake Erie for our annual reunion, as we are former Ohioans now living out of state. Vermilion is a great location and we were very fortunate to have found this home! It is very welcoming and comfortable, fully equipped and well maintained, with beautiful lake views. The location is convenient to a wide range of activities. Our group ranges is age from infants to seniors, all of whom found the home delightful. The large wrap-around deck provides ample space for friends and family visiting for the day to enjoy the great lake breeze. Whether playing with grandchildren at the waters edge or in the yard, using provided kayaks or bikes, finding a quiet spot for reading or playing cards, playing pool in the lower level, or antiquing in the nearby town...a great time was had by all. We are looking foward to our return to you home. Thank you Judy and Dan for making our reunion gathering so easy. We just returned from a four-day stay - this property is awesome! Waking up and going to sleep with the sounds of the waves of Lake Erie is very relaxing. Kids had fun with the kayaks and swimming at the private beach (they also had plenty of room to use their Ripstiks on the driveway). Lots of fun was had in the lower level - pool table, foosball. The house was extremely clean, comfortable - everything we needed was right there (including ample cooking utensils, grill, plates, etc.). But the BEST part was hanging in the hammock overlooking Lake Erie and watching the sun set. A great vacation - highly recommend this property. Thank You Dan and Judy!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We just completed a 5 day stay at the beginning of June and it couldn't have been better.Dan and Judy are great owners and the pictures shown do not do this place justice. The sunrises and sunsets are simply amazing and listening to the waves at night make you sleep like a baby. The bikes and kayaks kept 4 teenagers busy and the small town of Vermillion is a nice break from nearby Sandusky which was way too touristy. We would highly recommend this to anyone of any age.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Nice place and good owners. Lots of extras--bikes, kayaks, and other useful and fun items. Very roomy, great view of lake from deck and windows, secluded. Rec room is awesome -- pool table, hot tub, sauna. Easy access to Vermillion, plenty of turnaround room in driveway for boat. Lots of wildlife--herons, eagles, baltimore orioles etc. We had 9 in our group. Plenty of room.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.
