Mahnomen cabin description
Reconnect with the things that matter in life by spending time at Lloyd's Landing. Nestled on the eastern edge of South Twin Lake, a great fishing lake, you have the use of your own dock and flat access to the lake. The kids will love swimming off the dock because of the soft sandy lake bottom and no drop offs.
Our cottage is extremely family-friendly. The four bedrooms are configured into two Family Suites. In a family suite, you walk through one bedroom to get to another. In the Master Suite, the front bedroom has two twin beds and the back bedroom has a standard double bed. In the Guest Suite, the front bedroom has a bunk bed and the back bedroom has a standard double. So there is bed space for 8, and two more can easily sleep on the convertible sofa in the living room.
Lloyd's Landing offers a refuge from the noise and clutter of the high tech world. Hiking and mountain biking are easily accessible from the back door. Our fully enclosed porch is the perfect place to watch the sunset, and our outdoor fire pit is ideal for storytelling and marshmallow roasting.
But if watching the sunset in a gliding rocker is not how you reconnect, bring your four wheelers and rev it up on the trails and logging roads of the adjacent White Earth State Forest. With a variety of terrain and trails, the forest has more than 65 miles of dual purpose forest roads, and connects with the Forest Riders' ATV Trail, a 101-mile trail connecting the Two Inlets State Forest, White Earth State Forest and Becker and Hubbard counties managed forest lands.
Although our mid-century cottage is on the edge of the state forest, life's necessities are just ¼ mile away at the Pinehurst Resort, which includes a gas station, a general store, a full restaurant and bar, and boat rentals. The Village Store in Naytahwaush is the local grocery store, offering vegetables, meats, and a wider selection of grocery items.
Lloyd's Landing is ideally situated just 45 minutes north of Detroit Lakes and only 15 miles from the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. Lake Itaska, where you will find the headwaters of the Mississippi River, is a scenic 45 minute drive.

Great time relaxing!
Great time relaxing!
Our family has been staying with you for the last three summers and have enjoyed our R & R very much. The area is extremely family oriented and the cabin has plenty of sleeping room which is perfect for our stay. The new siding gives the cabin a stylish rustic appearance and the new door on the south side makes it very convenient for going out to the patio and fire pit. The lodge at Pinehurst has a terrific dining room with a bar and great food. The store at the lodge has all the necessary groceries that are needed when staying for an extended period of time. The fishing was very consistent and the sandy beach area makes for great swimming. We are definitely looking forward to spending time at your cabin again next year.

Owner response: I'm so glad you liked the updates, Ron!
This is our second year at Lloyds landing and each time has been great. It is so nice being at a private place without the noise, and busyness of a resort atmosphere. Being able to sit in the porch in the mornings enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the loons, waves, ducks and geese is a great way to start the day. We appeciated the addition of the extra door going to outside. The cabin is adequately furnished, and the cabin itself is roomy and very functional. The added bonus of a washer and dryer is great. The fishing is good, and the lake very clean. The owners have been very helpful with questions and responsive to needs. Cell service is very limited, even with verizon, however you can get service if you are on the lake, or walk down the road a ways. We truloy enjoy our time at and have already booked 2 weeks for next year!

Calm, relaxing and great fishing!!!!!
Calm, relaxing and great fishing!!!!!
Our stay at Lloyds landing was a week long stay of calm , relaxing days sitting and watching the beautiful South Twin Lake. The cottage is setup so cute. It has everything you need as far as kitchen supplies, BBQing. The Bedrooms are set up where everyone has their own space. The best days we had was fishing in the mornings and late afternoons/nights. Many large bluegills can be caught off the pier or along the shore near the reeds. We caught bluegills, crappies smallmouth bass and even a largemouth bass along the reeds. Every evening a doe would come and drink from the lake, one night a doe with 3 babies came down. The range of wildlife is fun to enjoy. Check out the red squirls. Saw a Eagle dive and caught a fish. Amy & Dave have put everything into this lake cottage to make you feel welcome during your stay. You will find the cottage very clean and well maintained. If you want a place to get away from the busy life come to Lloyds Landing you with not want to go home. Thank you Amy & Dave !!!!!!

Clean & Quiet.....we used it as a Bed & Breakfast so didn't use all the stuff....beach, swimming or boating. Like the updated bathroom and siding on the back.,,keep up the good work. Would come back and use it again when the kids can come up...maybe next year.

Sharing the MN Lake Cabin lifestyle with my family
Sharing the MN Lake Cabin lifestyle with my family
Being a MN native and having lived in CO for 14 years, I wanted to share with my family the things I missed most about MN. Going to the lakes is probably the very best of it - weekends spent in a *sometimes* crowded cabin, fishing, swimming, and playing boardgames when the weather is uncooperative. I could have not possibly found a better place to share those kind if experiences than Lloyd's landing. The listing described exactly what we were getting, but there were aspect that were very memorable - the photo book from the original owners 1970 reunion, several board games from that era and memorabilia through out the cabin that gave the impression that there were many years of family fun. The property is lovely - huge trees, atv trails nearby that double as perfect nature walk paths, and an abundance of wildlife - eagles, huge dragonflys, frogs, garter snakes, and a deer and her fawn that came out of the woods to drink from the lake every night between 9 and 10pm. The property owner was very helpful in answering my questions, and though we did not have perfect weather, we were nice & warm inside the place using the space heaters provided. My husband took the row boat out each day to fish and caught several - northern pike, small and large mouth bass, and perch. My daughter loved swimming in the shallow area near the dock though the lake has been overrun with snails in recent years so there were piles of their shells on the shoreline which made barefoot walking a little difficult - water shoes are probably a necessity. We hope to stay at Lloyd's Landing again sometime and would not hesitate to do so.

Owner response: Thanks so much Kelly! It's been a real pleasure getting to know you and your family. We hope you can come back for many years to come.
We just wanted to thank you for the accommodations, the cabin was clean and nice and roomy for the six of us. The lake is crystal clear and the sunsets were amazing! And best of all the atv trails were practically in the back yard!! Hope to come and stay again, it's rather nice not having a tv, phones, and computers to distract you, therefor it brought our family closer together!!

Owner response: Thanks, Jean! We're so glad you liked it. Very few of our guests have used the ATV trails--a surprise to me--so I'm glad to hear that you liked that part of it.
