The description on this site doesn't say enough about the incredible views and peaceful setting of this home. I stayed here with my toddler son and a few other friends who wanted to check out the wildflowers and the biking trails of Crested Butte. The fenced in yard was perfect for my son (and my friends' dogs) to play in. We used the cozy deck for cocktails and grilling out with a perfect view of Mt. Crested Butte. The set-up of the home is great for multiple families or groups -- the master bedroom at the very top is great for romance, and the bottom floor bedrooms are super for kids, friends or another couple. I was pleasantly surprised by a great selection of movies for kids. Other than the fenced in yard, my other favorite trait of the home is the INCREDIBLE view of Paradise Divide. As much as I loved looking at Mt. Crested Butte, the scene across the way of Paradise Divide is something I photographed over and over again. We found all we needed in terms of amenities indoors and out, including a super-cool bike rack in the driveway, and all the cooking items we needed in the kitchen. BTW, if you head into town, you MUST try Izzy's latkes for breakfast and the Dogwood Bar for a late-night drink. If you go during the summer, I also recommend the free in-town concerts on Mondays and up on the mountain on Wednesdays. I hired a babysitter through friends (Ask around, everyone in CB is nice!!!) and got on the bike trails as well -- this place is truly HEAVEN on earth. The Aspens and the wildflowers are so beautiful... and I hope to come back in the wintertime!! Any parents looking to save money -- be sure to go to the Thrift Shop in town -- they have great toys and clothing (I bought a fleece for my son for $3) and Kelty carriers for $15. One more thing --- a short walk or bike ride from this house is a really COOL riverside spot -- great for hanging out, letting the dogs swim or watching the bikers. Go down 7th Ave. and make the first left... you will be headed right toward the mountain and will see the dirt bike area as you walk; the bridge and river spot will come up on your right. So cool! My little guy joined in the fun with his new "Strider" bike, which I also recommend for toddlers... ask the guys at Big Al's or Alpineer for help. We love CB!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
