We absolutely loved our stay in this cottage. One of the best things that we used- everyday- was the Blue Book, that you left for us. Because of this book, we did and saw more things than 98% of the tourists ever see! This little book is fabulous! We hiked everywhere on this island and used the cooler EVERYDAY! Thank you for such a wonderful time.

We loved the peace and beauty of the cottage and the stormy winds. A few days of rain showers showed us all of the sides of Mother Nature! Our hike yesterday along the "Sliding Sands" Trail in Haleakala Crater was a grand finale to our eight days on Maui. We appreciated all of the small touches you left for us- from lovely flowers to macadamia nut candy (yummy treat!) plus the information on the island, hiking trails etc. Thank you for all.

We absolutely loved the cottage. This was the first place we stayed in Maui. It was a perfect location to the start of our honeymoon. We think Snoopy is a very special part to the cottage. Wouldn't have been the same without him. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Kevin and I really enjoyed our stay here at the cottage! After long days of hiking and snorkeling, coming back to the cottage felt right at home and nice and relaxing! This stay will always be in our memories because it was here on December 9th that we discovered we are pregnant with our first baby!!! It will certainly make for a great honeymoon story!!! The secret so far is between us and Snoopy! Thanks for everything!

This cottage was definitely a sight for sore eyes when we arrived. After discovering our luggage was stolen out of our car at 4am by the Minneapolis Airport and then having our flight canceled and being stuck at LAX for hours, we were beginning to think this vacation wasn't meant to be! But we started to feel differently when we got here. The cottage is beautiful and peaceful and full of character. We loved being up here, and it was a great spot to explore Haleakala from. And we enjoyed the animals- Snoopy was a good host :) Thank you!

As folks who also live out in the country it was delightful to come home to the cottage- made us feel right at home. Everything was clean and the cottage well equipped. Loved the quiet- could hear all the outdoor sounds. Thanks for being so helpful- mahalo!

The Kelly's will be happy because Snoopy got a LOT of extra belly rubs during our visit :) We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again- it's so beautiful and peaceful here. Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage! We enjoyed the quaint, quiet, clean town of Makawao. To other travelers we recommend hiking the Haleakala Crater (bring food, don't make the same mistake we did!) and zip-lining. I will recommend this cottage to our friends! Mahalo!

Your nice cottage was an ideal location to explore Haleakala National Park. Tired from hiking we enjoyed this quiet place and slept good and deep (with a friendly white-brown-black spotted cat as company!) Warm regards from two Swiss travelers-

We thoroughly enjoyed this quaint cottage. It was so clean and well stocked! The owners were so generous and helpful. By far the best place I have ever stayed at! Thank you so much for the lovely place to stay. We loved the view and privacy that the cottage offers. We named the little calico Sasha- she's such a doll! Your hospitality has been wonderful and the cottage a great home away from home. We've been able to relax with our great grand daughter Laila and she has loved Nana and all the cats, the ducks and the horsey at the entrance. Delightful place to stay - quiet, secluded, comfortable & clean. The grill was handy for cooking some of Maui's locally caught fish, and the Makawao General Store's deli had lots of delicious, healthy salads and other options. Leslie, the owner's mum, was especially helpful and friendly. We are from a small town in Alaska, and while we enjoyed the beaches of Maui, after the traffic and congestion of the more populated parts of the island, we looked forward to returning to the cottage in the evening to wind down and have a glass of wine on the lanai, which overlooked the valley and the Pacific Ocean. The cottage also offers good access to Haleakala National Park. It's a great place to stay, the listing is accurate, and we hope we can return soon.

Our six days at the bamboo cottage were relaxing, quiet, peaceful and just what we were looking for! The cottage is very clean, well stocked and nicely tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the typical tourist path. We had everything we needed and made good use of the Maui revealed book, checking it each night to plan our adventure for the next day. Having a kitchen and all the tools was a great addition as we were able to cook most of our meals, saving money. We used the grill a few nights, too. So nice! The hammock was my favorite, offering a place to read, nap, relax and sleep. I would stay at this cottage again without hesitation. Thank you!

Nice secluded Upcountry cottage

Cozy elevated cottage on a hillside, lots of birds and blooms. Descriptions on the listing are accurate. Owners live farther up the driveway, out of sight. Driveway is good practice for the drive to Hana, but well maintained, no problem for 2WD rental car. WiFi availability is intermittent, but you aren't staying here to work. If you want a peaceful, quiet secluded glen, this is a good place to stay. Excellent value for the cost, especially if you stay for a week like we did. Owners are very responsive if you need something, otherwise they leave you in peace. Cottage includes a maneki neko (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki_Neko) named Nana. She's not allowed inside to avoid allergy problems, but she will demand her ration of snuggles every day. Enjoy her. We did.

Special Place in Peaceful Upcountry

Upcountry Maui is a special place, high above the tourist areas in the cool forest. The cottage sits among heavenly scented eucalyptus trees with views of pastureland below and the not-so-distant ocean. The pictures really don't show the whole appeal of this rustic cottage and its surroundings. There was much to do in the area: hiking into Haleakala Crater and the other area trails, ziplining at Piiholo Ranch, browsing in the shops in Makawao and Paia, and spending sunny afternoons at the local beaches. Makawao is centrally located and it was easy to get to wherever we wanted to go. We felt instantly at home when we walked in and sat on the covered lanai. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was adequate for our needs. The cats on the property kept us company when we were missing our own pets. We've visited Maui many times and stayed at resorts and condos, but this is the first place we've stayed that felt like home. We will definitely be back.
