The house was beautifully maintained, comfortable and welcoming, (as advertised). Despite the very cold weather that kept us inside in the evenings- we loved the view from the back windows of the river and the surrounding land. We enjoyed the time to relax, read and watch television, and also found the available info on restaurants in the area very helpful. The owner was accomodating when we were scheduling our trip over New Year's weekend, and her suggestions were helpful. We would recommend this cottage to friends and relatives alike. It was a home away from home, and we'd like to return!

Owner response: We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. Fall is such a wonderful time at Cozy Shore Cottage....it's still warm enough to go to the ocean at Assateague Beach, yet the nights are cooler and you can enjoy the fire pit or the chimnea on the deck. Walking to the crabbing pier to see what 's biting or maybe catching a few crabs is fun too. You are always welcome to visit Chincoteague Bay Trails End.

It was an initial shock seeing we would be staying in a trailer park where not everyone seemed to have a sense of personal pride about their property. The cottage is a trailer. It is "cozy" and looks like a cottage somewhat, but a trailer. The outside yard and decks are wonderful. The beaches are incredibly beautiful, and there is a lot to do. I was very glad we brought our bikes, we used them a lot. This is not for everyone, but if you're used to camping and expecting something a little more than camping, it's great. It was also great to be able to have a vacation with our dog, she loved it. We also donated much to the mosquito drive.

The place was very clean and well-maintained. I loved the area. The people there were very nice. During the summer there are a lot of activities in the club house. Something called a bag bingo was fun. So if you like Bingo plan to bring a small gift and a brown paper bag for each person playing. There is an adult swim on maybe alternate saturdays. The internet in the clubhouse was slow. Pool was large. There is a small library in the clubhouse next time I go I will bring some books to add. BRING DEEP WOODS OFF! The misquitos laughed at the thing that attached to your belt and Avon's Skin So Soft. (ha ha) This property has spices and salt and pepper so I packed too much. If you have kids, suggest a game of counting how many froggies and owls there are.

If you want more, then join in with the daily water aerobics at the pool or the Mon thru Fri AM exercise class at the clubhouse. Grab a bite at the on site restaurant or get carry out and eat on the screened porch. There's so much to do when staying at Cozy Shore Cottage.

The cottage was very clean and lovely. However, it was also very noisy. I had called the owner before we committed to the rental, telling her that our major requirement for a rental home is that it be quiet, and that it was especially important to me as my brother had died recently and I needed a quiet place to recoup. She assured me that it was indeed quiet, "especially this time of year". She neglected to mention that there is a NASA base within a quarter mile of the cottage, and there was a virtually constant stream of AWACS planes and huge helicopters doing touch-and-goes at the base. The PA system at the base is also clearly audible; in fact, it awakened us one morning and we thought the community was being warned of an impending weather hazard. We wound up breaking our contract and leaving a week early after explaining the problem to the owner. She claimed that we were the first to have complained about the noise, which we find very difficult to believe. If you value peace and quiet, find somewhere else to stay.

Owner response: We are always honest with answering our guests inquiries and have had no mention of any noise from Wallops air base as it is not an every day occurance. Cozy Shore Cottage is usually quiet and serene. We have often gone there just to get away from the hustle and bustle, enjoy some quiet time to relax . The Wallops Island Naval Base is close by and is a land mark on the way to Chincoteague Island, the air base does air practice or make an announcement about the weather, it is only momentary. I forget that the base is there except on occasion when a a bad weather announcement takes place. One of the attractions of the base is that you have the opportunity to actually witness the launching of a rocket which is a once in a lifetime experience. This is a new activity in the area which is scheduled a few times a year. It was one of the highlights of a family's vacation who stayed at cozy shoe cottage.

The property was as advertised and in good condition when we arrived. The owner was helpful in helping us to find attractions and areas of interest. The drive to the island and beach was not too far from the house. Food store and gas staton locations were close and we used the food store on several occasions. The swimming pool was very nice and clean. Even the garbage drop off point was convenient for dropping off trash bags. The restaurants on Chincoteague Island were nice with plentiful fresh seafood on the menu. The property was easy to find and the photos on the internet were accurate in showing the house. We would recommend this as a vacaction stay to friends and family.

My wife, two girls, and I had a very good time staying at the Cozy Shore Cottage. We especially enjoyed the area since it isn't so commercialized. We are used to the hustle and bustle of the New Jersey shore and this was a nice change of pace. There were lots of things to do such as crabbing, fishing, shopping, dining out, sight seeing, visiting museums, and the N.A.S.A. Visitors Center. I was lucky enough to see a rocket go up one night. We probably visited every shop in Chincoteague and we also liked many of the places to eat. Everyone was so friendly. The neighbors at the Cozy Shore Cottage were also very friendly and helpful. We even went to an ice cream social one evening at the club house. The girls loved the swimming pool and we were only a short walk to the pier where I could crab or fish. We had the opportunity to get to know the Security people at the front gate entrance who were very personable. We visited the beach frequently; that wasn't too far. It was nice to park right on the beach with sowers and bathrooms nearby. Stopped to tour the lighthouse and took pictures of the "ponies" on Assateague. The boat ride out of Daisy's dock was memorable seing loggerhead turtles, sting rays, osprey, and more ponies. Awsome boat ride. In Cincoteague I purchased hot sauces at the Hot Sauce Place and more ice cream at Mueller's. I recommend the waffle and ice cream. The drive to Pocomoke was worth while to see this quaint little historic town (lots of history in this area). We did spend a few evenings back at the Cottage making dinner on the grill and relaxing. We bought some local seafood and cooked it up right there and enjoyed the views and wildlife from the back porch. My wife woke up early to find deer in the meadows out back on more than one occasion. Joanne, the owner was very helpful and helping us plan our trip and making our stay truly wonderful. Thank you, it was worth the drive down there for us. I would recommend the Cozy Shore Cottage if your looking for relaxation, getting awy from the usual hustle of the other shore areas. This area is a little more "layed-back" while still being near the water that we so much love. It was a great vacation for us.

" We did enjoy our stay here at Cozy Shore Cottage. Spent our days kayaking, biking, taking trips to Chincoteague, swimming at the pool and playing games at the cottage. We enjoyed the quiet evenings on the deck. The girls loved the beach and left some sea shells for others to find ! We will be taking home a lot of jewelry made of sea shells and many wonderful memories of our stay."

We had a very enjoyable time at Cozy Shore Cottage. It was comfortable for the three of us with plenty of room. The facilities were well organized with plenty of room to prepare and eat food. We also found the neighbors and local residents very helpful and hospitable. The clubhouse, swimming pool and play area for children were clean and attractive. Although the local supermarket was a ten minute drive away this wasn't a problem. All in all I would highly recommend the cottage to future guests who might consider a vacation on the eastern shores of Virginia.

About the owner: Joanne & John Brooks, two lovers of nature who enjoy the outdoors and the peace & quiet of our vacation cottage. This is truly a get away from the hustle and bustle of the work week where we hope to retire one day in the not too distant future.

                              Why the Owner Chose Chincoteague:
Having spent several weekends at a friends house, we searched for our piece of heaven and stumbled upon lot 116. It was quite overgrown but as we walked through the woods, we discovered the beautiful view of the bay and marshes. We were sold on that property and went about planning our cozy cottage. We truly enjoy spending time there throughout the changing seasons. Since we are not there all the time, we decided we should share it with others who will enjoy it as we do.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
