  I would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone and everyone. My daughter and I had a great time and found the house to have everything you could ask for. It was clean and well maintained and we received so much information about Lake Como from the owner before we arrived which was great. We loved the whole lake Como experience and used the ferries and buses to visit all the little towns around the lake. We would love to return one day with other members of our family.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  We spent a great week in Griante. It is a typical small Italian village. The bar "La Torre Vecchia" was great for morning coffee or a glass of wine at the end of a sightseeing day. Close to the apartment was a small grocery store (it is closed on sundays and only open till 1PM on weekdays). The apartment was clean, well-maintained and the photos reflected the rentals appearance and amenities. The property is a short (downhill/uphill) walk from the lake. (not recommended for handicapped people). We did not have a car and used the ferry to visit all the towns around the lake. However, if we return, we would rent a car to be able to explore the area beyond the lake. Prior to our arrival, Francesco was very prompt in responding to questions and there were no issues requiring his attention during our stay. Overall, I highly recommend this property

  We stayed here for 10 days in Aug/Sept & it was so lovely. Roomy, computer supplied, views from the great balcony. Terrific off -road parking (which in Italy is like gold), shower was hot, good pressure and roomy, a corner store (alimentary) which had everything and at prices lower than in town just 3 minutes away on foot. We initially had a few teething problems with the Satellite TV but the lovely Fermattia ?? (onsite agent) was able to fix it up for us. The only remotely critical thing I could say is that it is not closeby any decent eateries you have to go down the hill to Cadenabbia (15 mins down on foot & 25 exhausting minutes climbing up or 5 minutes by car) It did get me fit that's for sure! Overall though it was really great and quite hot during our stay 25C+ so we swam at the lido down in Cadenabbia which was 4 Euros each plus we had to buy a cap which was another 2 Euros I think. It has a bar (of course) changing cubicles and loungers so good value. Loved it - thanks Francesco for the DVD & all the info we received prior to our arrival it was great to whet our appetite.

  " Piémont et Lombardie, régions familières pour les Français amateurs d'Histoire, de Charles VIII, Louis XII, François 1er ( Marignan, Pavie) en passant par Bonaparte (Mondovi, Castiglione, Arcole), puis Napoléon III (Magenta, Solferino). Pas de dépaysement. Environnement magnifique, paisible, la beauté de la nature aménagée par les hommes. Tout le charme de la seconde moitié du XIXème siècle. L'appartement de Monsieur Francesco PINI, à GRIANTE, très confortable, est parfaitement situé pour découvrir tous les charmes du lac de Côme. Mon épouse et moi-même en gardons un excellent souvenir. Arrivederci, peut-être.

  "Azalea House in Cadenabbia (Lake Como)..... My first trip to Lake Como will not be my last" "The Azalea House was a perfect place to call home for the week that we stayed on Lake Como. Logistically it could not have been better. From there, we were able to take side trips near and far. We took the local ferry to Bellagio and Verenna, the bus to Menaggio and Lugano, Switzerland and the train to catch the Bernina Express to St Moritz. The apartment itself was clean and neat. There were no surprises. Having booked the trip sight unseen and going only by reviews found on this website I took a leap of faith. Boy was I glad that I did. Every evening, we sat on the narrow balcony polishing off a bottle of cheap Italian wine. It was so fun to buy groceries from the two local markets. With a lot of pointing and hand gestures, we got the ingredients to create wonderful dinners every night. There were two flat screen TVs which provided us with English news channels and a bunch of Italian programming. The internet availability was quite handy. We used it to plot out our daily adventures. Will I go to Azalea House again? Most definitely! I am already thinking about returning in October! "

  "Séjour au lac de Come" "Notre séjour à l'appartement Azalée a été magnifique, une région à voir en Italie. L'équipement dans l'appartement était très adéquat et la personne qui s'occupait de nous était très obligeante. Nous avons adoré nos 3 nuits et le lac de Come. Une suggestion serait de tracer une carte car même avec un GPS l'endroit a été un peu difficile à trouver

  "During the weather was cold and rainy at home, it was still fine at the Lake Como early in September. Therefore we could undertake long walking-tours in the surrounding mountains, visiting beautiful villas, botanical gardens and a lot of picturesque villages around the lake. The Azalea House was the ideal place for our excursions. It had plenty of room, a well equipped kitchen, was tastefully and well furnished and very clean. Here we felt at home, sat often at the balcony and enjoyed the grandiose view of the Lake Como and the Villa Melzi. We would like to stay longer, but our holidays were over. We thank the kindly owner and his apartment manager for their excellent hospitality. "

  Azalea House in Griante Bob Newbury New Hampshire USA Review Submitted: August 3, 2010 Date of Stay: June 2010 We stayed at Azalea House for 6 weeks. The apartment was cozy, clean, spacious, and very centrally located. The convenient store, catholic church, an enchanting bar, and parks are only one or two blocks away. We loved all the people we met. Fiametta, apartment manager, was very kind and helpful. Martino, local artist and owner of the bar, was also very kind and helpful. Both spoke English very well. Francesco, the owner, was very kind and generous. We would love to return, especially to Griante.

  The Azalea House is situated perfectly to explore the Lagio di Como area, with a ferry to Bellagio just down the road and less than a kilometer from the famous Villa Carlotta. The house was perfectly clean and fully equipped with sattelite TV, internet PC, kitchenette, washing machine, fridge, etc... to enjoy your stay and it had a wonderful view over the lake from the balcony. It was perfectly quiet in the evening, no noise from the busy street below, so very much enjoyable on the terrace with the complimentary bottle of wine we discovered upon arrival. The owner of the place was very easy to communicate with and trustworthy in every way. I enjoyed my stay at the Azalea House very much, it made for a carefree holiday location! I can highly recommend this location to young families (we were there with three children) or two couples. You will not regret this. Affordable, great neighbourhood, perfectly situated on the lakeside. Thanks!!
