- The Redhawk Haven is conveniently located just 6 miles north of town. It backs to the San Juan National Forest and is just far away to to feel the serenity of the wilderness and still have access to the towns amenities such as public Hot Springs, stores, restaurants ect. If you enjoy outdoor adventures you can continue north from the cabin and explore Piedra falls, the Ice Caves and Williams Lake (great fishing spot). Whatever your agendas... you are far enough away from any touristy areas should you choose to avoid them....moreless

We liked this rental so much last year we decided to go back this year, only difference was we rented the Ponderosa unit because of the deck and were not unhappy with our decision. Just like last year the place was clean and cozy and we enjoyed many hours on the back deck with our pups wildlife watching. Thanks again Rich and Roger for a perfect vacation!

Exceeded my expectations!
Exceeded my expectations!
I arrived in Pagosa Springs, in desperate need of a break from life. Wow, were my expectations EXCEEDED! The property is BEAUTIFUL and peaceful! Being right on the forest was incredible! The wildlife was wonderful, and the walks through the woods were perfect. Rich was an outstanding host, leaving no detail left undone. I hope to come back many times! Thank you Rich for an outstanding vacation that I will never forget. Your knowledge of the area and your happy attitude was the icing on the cake! There is nothing like starting the morning, or finishing the day on the back porch with deer strolling by! 5 stars aren't enough!

We (my husband, myself and our 6 yo , 3 yo and 2 months old children) had a very pleasant stay at the Redhawk Haven. The owner greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. When we had to get a hold of him we called and he called back within the hour. We very much liked the location. The kids could run around outside, we saw wildlife, had dinners on the patio and the cabin is in close proximity to hiking trails in the San Juan National Forest. For the most part the kitchen was very well stocked, everything was clean. The patio that belongs to this unit could be made a little nicer but the view is great. Overall we had a great time.

Owner response: Thank for visiting I'm glad you enjoyed your stay... it was a pleasure having you and your family. My apologies on the patio, it was just completed a few weeks ago and will be taking on a whole new landscape project this fall. I hope you will come back to enjoy.
My (3) teenage boys and my wife and I are very please we found this facility. It was a perfect Spring Break. The rental property was just perfect for us. Our trip to and from the ski slopes was beautiful. Will rent again. Thanks Rich.

Very nice rental property with everything needed for a wonderful winter stay. Tucked into the hills outside Pagosa Springs, very cozy 2br. 1bath with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Perfect for a small family. Cheaper than a hotel and much nicer. Comfortable beds, nice lighting, satellite TV and fast internet.Loved it.

This property has a lovely deck which looks out on the forest. It was so peaceful , in the evening, sitting there watching the wildlife come out of the trees. There's a gate right out the back which was very convenient for forest hiking. Very nice landlord.

This place is awesome we had the best time! Rich and Roger thought of everything you could need for a week in the mountains! They even dialed in the perfect week weather wise! Very clean with a warm homey feel. They welcomed both of us and our dogs with warm hello's gave information reguarding day hikes then left us alone. The best part about this house is the backyard as it opens into the San Juan National Forest so we took plenty of day hikes! Our pups enjoyed the back deck for squirrel, chipmunk and deer watching. This was a very relaxing place to stay! Thank you Rich and Roger for sharing your house with us!

Cool Redhawk for a Hot Summer
Cool Redhawk for a Hot Summer
We arrived in the usually cool valley of Pagosa Springs, CO. during one of the longest, hottest dog-day summers in recent history. Wild fires nearby threatened to make our visit even gloomier. But inside the Redhawk Haven, we were cucumber-cool and breathing easy. The immaculate rooms held everything you'd find in a well-furnished apartment. There were lots of thoughtful touches: wi-fi, cable-TV, comfortable beds; fresh linens and towels. The owners are super-friendly and treated our little dog like one of their own pets. We enjoyed many hikes through the national forest, just out our back door. True, it's about 15 minutes drive to town but the sights are lovely. If you want a reasonably-priced, out-of-the hullabaloo hide-away, Red Hawk Haven is a hidden gem.

About the owner: Hello I am Rich Schlosser. I live in Phoenix Arizona and Pagosa Springs. It is the perfect balance for me because of my love for nature and the outdoors. I will do my best to make your visit the most memorable and help guide and assist you in as much adventure or solitude as you wish.
Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs:
I have skied the Rocky Mountains for over 20 years. The winters are beautiful with ample activities but when I visited Pagosa for the first time in the summer of 2005 and experienced the colors, the textures, the wildlife and the outdoor adventures, I became hooked... I now come to Pagosa Springs once a month and spend the summers months here.
