Relax on the over-size deck and drink in the natural and scenic mountain beauty of Aspen Hills Retreat. The stunning views on every side will give you an incredible wilderness experience! The peace and seclusion of the setting fill a dream of many visitors, to feel as one with nature. Perched on a small hill, and surrounded by Aspen and Pine trees, the wildlife often come out of their protective habitat to roam the area, giving humans a wonderful sight of nature and forest animals as they should live.
The beauty of this area is the perfect place for your getaway, whether it be a family vacation, family reunion, friends or business group, fly fishing group, wedding, romantic honeymoon or anniversary...anyone who would like to experience the beauty and peace of this secluded property. No neighbors for a 'country mile'!
Aspen Hills Retreat offers 3 queen beds and 1 set of bunk beds, with sleeping for 8. We also provide 1 queen and 4 twin air mattresses, plus room for sleeping bags on the floor. The 1500 sq/ft deck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature, the sounds and scenery of the mountains, and breathing in the crisp, clean air . Thousands of stars fill the skies at night.
The large lawn offers plenty of room for camping in tents, campers and RV's (no hookups). This secluded area can accommodate large groups for reunions and other large gatherings. Reunion, weddings and large group rates are available on our website.
A wonderful hiking trail winds up behind the retreat, giving a dramatic view of the landscape where the famed Snake River winds through Swan Valley. Another scenic trail is Cress Creek Nature Trail, about 15 minutes away. Heise Hot Springs is home to natural hot springs and has 3 different pools, each with different temperatures, and a 350 ft slide. A new Zip Line is now available for the very adventurous!
Golf courses, plus a fun miniature golf course at 7N ranch, by Heise, and trailriding a mile away, at Granite Creek Guest Ranch...activities for all ages within minutes.
Blue ribbon Cutthroat trout Fly Fishing on the Snake River is just 3 miles from Conant Boat Dock, and fishing, boating, water skiing can be found at either Palisades or Ririe Reservoirs, both about 20 minutes away. Plenty of room at Aspen Hills to park your boats or trailers with 4-wheelers.
East Idaho is truly a Vacationer's Paradise in the mountains!
Yellowstone Park and Grand Teton National Parks are both close, with a new 'super side trip' - the Yellowstone-Grand Teton Loop of 262 miles, crossing all three states that border Yellowstone Park...a fantastic scenic drive!

Thank you so much! My mother and her elderly sisters "the Golden Girls" and I had a wonderful respite here this week. It was such a treat for them to get back into the mountains. We saw deer and elk. We drove to the falls and that was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your awesome mountain home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: Carl and Nessie Zitlau are long-time farmers/ranchers of this property.
Why the Owner Chose Swan Valley:
The land adjacent to Granite Creek Ranch became available some years ago and now our cattle herd grazes the fields. We saw an opportunity to share the beauty of this exceptional 'corner of the world' with others, so are opening up the Aspen Hills Retreat to families and other groups for their vacations, retreats and reunions.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
Peace and quiet, clean, fresh air to breathe, and beautiful mountain scenery at Aspen Hills Retreat - no one else for a country mile.
2 hours south of the west entrance into Yellowstone National Park,
1 hour west of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
South Fork of the Snake River, world-class fly fishing...Conant Valley Boat Dock only 3 hours from Retreat.
4-Wheeling and Snowmobile trails within 5 miles.
Idaho Falls, Idaho is only a 50 minute drive (Pop. 50,000) with Museum of Idaho. The Idaho Falls Temple and Visitors Center, and a Greenbelt around the Snake River are landmarks of the city.
Heise Hot Springs Resort with 2 cool pools and 350 ft slide, and a natural hot pool entertain everyone in the family. A new Zip Line has been installed on their mountain.
Yellowstone Bear World - a drive-thru bear and wildlife park is a 35 minute drive.
A 'home-base' for many activities a short distance from the Retreat: Palisades Reservoir and Ririe Reservoir are 30 minute drives for boating and fishing.
The famed South Fork of the Snake River with world-class fly fishing is just a short 3 mile drive, plenty of space for parking your boats.
