- Minimum stay:Contact owner
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Enjoy an unique, very private water-front setting in a small and cozy chalet, twenty-five feet from the water's edge.
This property is a virtual wildlife setting; a portion of Petit Manan Refuge is just around Jetteau Point The cottage enjoys beautiful views to the Sally Islands and open ocean on Gouldsboro Bay.
From the deck you can enjoy close observation of grey heron, bald eagles, gulls, loon and numerous other waterfowl. Listen to the seals croak in the deadness of the still night as the full moon rises over the bay. When the winds and waves predict, fall sleep to the sound of water washing up on shore, virtually under your ears.
The cottage is simple, with two full baths with shower, one up and one down. It has an adequate kitchen, comfortable queen-size bed up, pull-out couch or futon down. Cottage has been recently remodeled with Russian pine floors up and antique maple wood floors downstairs. This cottage is idea for a couple or small family.
Owner has adjacent dwelling on property which is occupied seasonally by owner and his veteran cat.

We just finished a week at this delightful location. The listing and photos are very accurate - what they don't capture until you experience it is the quiet solitude and relaxed feeling that overcomes you. The house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young children), and was in very good condition and very clean. The owner, Scott, is a great host and very informative about local attractions, restaurants, and any other necessary information. We would DEFINITELY recommend this property to a relative or friend. As the description reads, the location is serene, but not far from the "action" of Acadia/Bar Harbor. We spent our time in a mix of activities - some in the park, some in local lakes (ask Scott for ideas), and some in the tourist areas. No matter what, we always had this beautiful, quiet location to come home to (on the days we left the house!). Thank you, Scott, for a great vacation location.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

we recently spent a week at the A-frame, and we really enjoyed, it was so relaxing and quiet. We spent most of our time sitting on the deck, reading, watching the water and wild life. We really didn't want to leave. The owner Scott is great and very helpful, he even told us where to stop for groceries on our way. We are going to try and go back next year, if at all possible.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

This is a very nice cottage. Returning home from Afghanistan I wanted to take our family someplace quiet and off the beaten path. This cottage was perfect for that purpose. The owner Scott was very informative about the area and had the place stocked with games and many local books to read. Everyone in our family had a perfect time and we were able to really relax. The ocean was truly feet from the back door and amazing. Scott--- sorry the review took so long; and thanks for the Christmas card---very cool, made us wish we were there. Thanks again and we hope to see you again one day! This was exactly what we had in mind when we rented this cottage. The property was as described and well maintained. The owner was such a nice fellow, we even had Scott down a couple of nights for 'Happy Hour'. Some of the memorable things were the Northern Sky at night, the sound of the loons in the evening, the dramatic effect of the tides that you don't experience at the beach, the local seafood, lobsters and steamers, which were fresh off the boat and so affordable, closeness to local trails like Pigeon Hill and to great places like Acadia NP, or just sitting out of the deck watching the lobster men running their traps in the morning. The town of Milbridge is just a few minutes away so you can stock up on any items you might need and there were a few good restaurants there but we were too busy eating lobsters we barely ate out. I would recommend this spot to anyone that wanted to have a picturesque, quite spot on beautiful Joy Bay. We're coming back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This place is the real deal! Recommended if you like: peace, hummingbirds, quietude, ocean water, serenity, hammocks, the good life. My wife, our dog and I stayed here for a week in late July and are still desperately missing this charming A-frame on the water. An absolutely ideal setting, the back opens to a huge, cozy porch virtually hanging over the oceanfront at high tide. Grab some coffee and a good book and be well. This is a stocked, tasteful, clean and comfortable property in an amazing location perfectly distanced from the noisy(-er) Bar Harbor scene. The top-notch trails at Petit Manan are minutes down the road as is the stunning Schoodic peninsula section of Acadia NP, but you'll be pleased with almost any and nearly every turn you take.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: After spending summers in Maine since 1977 , working The Windjammers and yachting for many years, I found this area of Maine to be unique. Away from the hustle and bustle of the major tourist areas, but within a short car or ferry trip to Bar Harbor I finally found my true coastal piece of Maine. Purchased in 2002, I have spent summers remodeling the cottage and enjoying the true Maine.
