My friend and I stayed at this place for three nights and it garnered perhaps the best experience that I have had in NYC in over seventy trips within my lifetime. It is perfectly located on the border of Chinatown and Little Italy offering you access to a neighborhood experience that could not be achieved in any hotel. For me, it was was like being given a slice of NYC complete with the sights, sounds and proximity to all that any tourist would desire. You enter a heavy door to an apartment that feels like your own. Hanging on the walls is great artwork and all of the compliments of home that exceed the description of the place as advertised. Within the courtyard that falls a few stories below your bed the late sleeper will be treated to a restauranteur that plays Sinatra while setting up for the day and the following the happy noise of patroons enjoying an authentic Italian lunch. I have stayed in essentially the 'best' hotels in NYC but this is by far by preferred experience and I already long to return and only hope that it remains available. Note: Check out Cha Cha's Italian Eatery right next door: Ask for Joe and tell him the Phillip from Canada sent you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This apt was not correctly advertised. There was no washer/dryer. There was no fireplace. And on some winter nights, there was no heat. The TV did not work, the owner refused to fix or replace and the stench of the smoky hallways was difficult to deal with. Other than that, it was a comfortable apartment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/7
