Enjoy summer in Big Bear where you can see Fireworks from your front door! Ride the Sky Chair, Bike on a sweet single track, Golf at 7000feet or Hike in the Forest.
Then return each evening to our cozy cabin your summer home.
This small cozy cabin was built in 1932 and purchased in 1992 from the original owners. Although the home has been completely restored, much of the original charm and relics still remain. The home offers beautiful views of Big Bear Lake and is centrally located to many local attractions. It is a great area for hiking, and is located within walking distance to the local boat rental vendor.
Enjoy 2 full Bedrooms and a small den where you can make use of our airbed.
The Master Bedroom has a King Bed and TV with Cable.
The Guest Bedroom has a Queen Bed and access to the Front Patio. Both Bedrooms have lots of closet space.
There is a small den where you are welcome to put an airmattress for additional sleeping quarters - would suit children as an additional bedroom.
The Kitchen has it all! There is an oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and all the pots, pans and utensils you need to fix any kind of meal.
After breakfast, stroll into town - just 5 mins away to the lake and 10 min walk to downtown Big Bear.
The home is great for a small family, pair of couples, or group of friends who want to get away on a weekend ski trip. In the summer, you can also enjoy a spectacular view of the 4th of July firework show on the lake.
The home located in the heart of the city of Big Bear Lake. The list of local attractions and activities is endless and offers something for everyone. Aside from the water and skiing/snowboarding activities that the lake and mountains provide, a few other available activities in Big Bear Lake are the beautiful golf course, the petting zoo for the kids, a bowling alley, local vendors that provide zip lining, the community center playhouse, and the Big Bear solar observatory. And, of course, we have Snow Summit about 2 miles from the home, Bear Mountain about 4.5 miles from the home, and the local Snow Drift Tubing Park (located on Highway 18 about 15 miles before you get to this home). Tip: Blauer Ski & Board Rentals on the corner of Big Bear Blvd. and Summit Blvd. offers a free shuttle up to Snow Summit if you rent equipment from them (please call them to confirm they are still offering the service).
The surrounding village also contains many great places to eat; for breakfast/lunch our favorite is The Grizzly, for finer dinner dining try the Evergreen, to grab some cocktails on a Friday night check out the Robinhood Resort bar, and other local favorites include Himalayan Restaurant, Peppercorn, Paoli’s Lounge, Chad’s Place, the Elks Lodge, and the Aztec Restaurant.

Pros: Great location, short but slightly dangerous (walking on the side of road) walk to the village. Nice balcony with pretty lake view. Pretty good movies in case you don't have cable or local channels like our stay. Pet friendly. Cons: Very dark and luke warm water in the shower, luckily it wasn't winter during our stay. No hot water or even warm water during the day, I'm guessing owners have a timer. Bed linens seemed slightly smelly, hopefully just musty from being closed up for awhile. No cable or local channels for 3 days! Although the owners did try to help by offering to reimburse us if we rented movies, bottom line, no cable or TV for 3 days is not what we were hoping for!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

We stayed three days at the Bear Cub Cabin just after a good storm. Pros: - Location. The cabin is a short walk to the village and tubing park - Fully equipped. We were happy with the linens, dining-ware, and extras that are already in the cabin. - Large yard and ample parking; plenty of space to sled on property. Careful - the hill is a bit steep! - Pet friendly. There is an extra room (about 3' x 10') that's perfect for a pooch crate. Hard floors in living areas. Cons: - No fireplace. - No dishwasher (common for older cabins). - Neighbors don't hesitate to use the yard. We had two separate sets of neighbors walk over with sleds and hung out there for many hours. The side yard fence has been worn down in a clear sign that the adjacent residents come over often. - We had no hot water for half of our stay. The pilot light went out and the gas cock on the old water heater was rusted and stuck. It took the property management over 18 hours to get a plumber on site. - The cabin has a view of the lake, but it is obstructed. - Driveway and stairs leading to the cabin are steep - may be tough to access for older folks and young kids. - Bathroom has carpet and the shower doesn't have a light - it's very dark when you draw the curtain. Overall, the issues related to the cabin were offset by the location. It's literally a 10 minute walk to the village entrance and the extra yard space made going somewhere to enjoy the snow redundant.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners.
