  Had a wonderful Christmas holiday and were able to bring our dogs. The home has everything you would need to cook in the privacy of your own home with the beach across the street. The house and furniture is clean and the beds are comfortable. The hot water did run out fast in the master bath, but we learned how to adjust the dials to spare. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but it's very quite and the neighbors stick to themselves...unlike their dogs. If you are bringing your pup, be sure to utilize the front gate! Overall, good little place, comfortable and the owners have done a nice job! We use VRBO for all travel and would stay here again and bring the pups. Thanks for sharing your home.

  The property is very close to all activities. The beach was a 5 min drive, and not crowded! The Old Town was a 10 min drive. The property itself is is needing some attention. Initally it looked clean but we had a problem roaches the longer we were there. We only only ate at the house twice and took the garbage out immediately. The surrounding neighborhood was little sketchy looking, but we had no problems with people or noises.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

  Owner response: We spray indoors frequently as well as outdoors but they do find their way in somehow. We will continue to treat and more often.

  As usual we enjoyed our stay at Pinky. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit St. Augustine. The kids enjoyed the beach, fishing off the dock and visiting places in and around St. Augustine. It is very clean, comfortable and close to everything. Thanks for letting us stay there again.

  Our family spent last week at “pinky” and had amazing time. Crescent beach is one of the nicest beaches we have been to in a long while. The summer camp at Surf Station was the best camp my son has taken. We loved the house and it location and will be back. I had only wish that the canal had more water in it at low tide.

  This is a great place-large, clean and comfortable! We were close to the ocean-with many convenient ways to the beach! We were close to historic sites in the city of St Augustine without being too close. The owners are great and have obviously put a lot of thought into making this an ideal vacation spot. Washer, dryer, pots, pans, towels etc - all right there and clean and ready to use!! We will be going back! This was definitely our best vacation ever!!!

  Once we found the place (our confirmation email didn't include an address - luckily we had a general idea of the location and a picture) we were pleasantly surprised. The interior was roomy and had wonderful beachy decor. The kitchen was more than adequate and the master "suite" in the back had a nice sitting room and its own bathroom. It was conveniently located to the beach and the main drag to downtown and connections to I95. It was fun to have the deck, the "tiki hut" and amenities like a grill and boogie boards and things to use at the beach. (It would have been nice to have had more than one dart though ;c) The owners provided good suggestions what to do in the area. The only downsides - minor but worth noting: The master bed was a little too firm - after two days of tossing and turning and aching backs we had to switch to the queen bed. Not necessarily the fault of the owner, just personally didn't work well for us. Make sure you like ultra firm. The plumbing in the master bath didn't work - the cold water faucet turned 360 deg and was hard for the kids to determine temp. The water pressure valve that changes from bath to shower didn't work so most of your water went down the drain rather than out the showerhead. This coupled with what must be a tiny water heater meant you barely got 5 min of hot water - and with 6 of us that meant spacing out our showers, which was inconvenient. The regular bathroom had a huge mirror over the toilet. That was kind of disconcerting, esp for the guys. The bedroom with the twin beds had a fan whose light didn't work, and no dresser for clothes. My boys had to keep their clothes in their suitcase. The tv/vcr did not work at all which was disappointing for them. The queen bedroom had a squeaky fan and the fan in the kitchen bar area almost took off my husband's head - if you are tall don't run that one, it is way too low a ceiling for a hanging fan. The cell phone reception was not good - we had to practically stand on our head to get a signal or go outside and point the right way. It drained our phones by continually looking for a signal. (We have Verizon) Once we got out on the main road our signal was fine. We didn't use the modem but it was cable not wireless. Other than these things, none of which was a major issue, we enjoyed our stay. The owners were nice and it worked out well for a family our size - much better than a hotel!

As for the cell phone reception there's nothing we can do about that but we do have a toll free land line here and wireless internet.

  We had the most amazing vacation at this wonderful cottage this past summer. We wanted our grandchildren's first visit to the ocean to be special and we could not have picked a more perfect place to stay. The cottage was extremely clean and well-stocked with everything you need for a carefree vacation! It's just minutes from the beach and shopping. We wanted a beach vacation and the location is perfect for that! We made sure to leave the cottage in the same condition we found it and that was VERY CLEAN! The owners are the perfect host and hostess.....thanks for a wonderful experience!

  Loved staying at the "Treasure House" as my grandchildren called it. Everything was perfect, we could have not enjoyed ourselves more! We hope to stay here every year and would recommend it to everyone, the kids loved it, all ages its just perfect!

  Absolutely wonderful stay! Had a great time, fabulous location, cozy home to come back to after spending the day exploring. Everything was exactly as described, we had no problems finding it, everything was clean and in good shape. No complaints at all and look forward to coming back sometime.

  Very nice vacation home. Great location close to St. Augustin and right next to the beach. This was the perfect place for us as we wanted an alternative to a "beach condo". This is much more charming, and we had our own space with a garden. We hope to make this cottage our regular "restoration retreat" by the beach --which by the way is incredible!

  Where do I start? Our stay at this home was everything we thought it would b and more. The home is in a great location close to the beach, downtown, great food and much more. The home was extremely clean and cozy. We had an amazing vacation, but complained it was not long enough. We cannot wait to return next year! P.s. bob and lori made communication very simple. Thanks to them for making such a faboulous retreat!

  We love staying at “Pinky”! The house is neat and clean and comfortably furnished, we feel right at home. It's so much better than a condo, lots of space and privacy. Our kids love fishing in the canal and the peddle boat. The beach is a short walk or drive and it is beautiful! We always have a great time when we stay here and can’t wait to come back!

Having stayed in condos also, we disliked having to park so far away from our condo, we had to be with the kids every second because of all the cars and people, cramped in very small spaces, no yard for the kids to run and play, we could not bring our small dogs, and we had no real privacy. 'Pinky' is like living at the beach. Relaxed, private, your own space, yard, the kids can play outside. It's just a totally different atmosphere. It's like your a local, not a tourist. It's the true vacation experience! You are real people to us, not just one of thousands. We hope you will give us a try and see the difference!

  We couldn't have had a better vacation! Pinky made it perfect. The house itself was so clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The canal in the back was fun to catch crabs and fish off of. The paddle boat was a blast! We enjoyed the privacy of sitting outside at night, there were so many stars, it was quiet, and we could hear the waves crashing at the beach. We had such a good time going to the beach, historic downtown St. Augustine, and the Alligator Farm. We will definately be returning next year! Thank You Bob and Lori! :)

  Owner response: Thank You! It is relaxing to sit by the water at night and watch the stars. I've seen so many shooting stars there. And the kids always love the canal and the little swing out by the deck, the yard is big enough for them to run and play, so much better than a cramped condo. Can't wait for you to come back!

  We love Pinky! It is so clean and spacious, fun to come home to after a day at the beach. The children enjoyed fishing off the dock. Don't change a thing, we're already talking about coming back next year!
