Plan a Destin, Florida beach escape to our newly renovated five bedroom Coconut Grove home. Accommodating up to 17 people, this vacation home in Frangista Beach is great for two groups or a larger family traveling together. Each floor has a Living Room, Kitchen and private entrance accessible by the private outdoor courtyard. The access to each floor is through the staircase located outside.
Both living rooms have 42' Plasma flat screen TVs. The bedrooms have all new beds and dressers, and have TVs with DVRs. The kitchens have brand new cookware, dishes and glasses, as well as utensils and fixtures.
Enjoy your own private pool in a lush tropical setting. Coconut Grove is just 4 houses in from the beach, so you will just have a short walk to beach access. You can even walk to beachfront Pompano Joe's restaurant, our favorite, for a quick lunch or dinner. Destin's fine selections of shopping, dining and entertainment are just minutes away. You are sure to have an amazing vacation when you stay at Coconut Grove.

Location was great--very near beach access. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc. Furniture and beds very comfortable. Disappointing was:pool not clean when we arrived, cleaned 2 days later, downstairs refrigerator had no ice maker, no downstairs garbage disposal, no lighting over sink, no lighting in downstairs bathroom shower, upstairs garbage disposal and ice maker did not work (hopefully that has since been repaired), top sheets were not put on any bunk beds, therefore, dirty comforters laid on clean bottom sheets. When requesting clean sheets for bunks were told by management company (Southern Resorts) that it was too late in day to get them. This was at 4:30 right after we had checked in. When requesting ice cube trays since there was no ice maker were told 3 days later they were out of ice cube trays. On Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. the downstairs kitchen and bathrooms flooded due to rain. We immediately called for help from mgmt. company and someone came out at 12:30 p.m. after we had cleaned up the mess ourselves with 1 mop, no buckets, and any available bath towels. When we requested clean bath towels to replace the "flood soiled ones" we finally received them at 4:30 p.m. Last 3 days of our vacation were very unpleasant due to several large, noisy fans that produced heat up to 90 degrees on the lower level to dry up the water and moisture. Part of the ceiling in lower level kitchen was missing. (Found it later laying out by pool). On a brighter note, the owner aided in helping us secure a partial rental refund from the management company--however not nearly the amount we would consider fair in light of all of the problems we encountered. Ultimately, we would probably, because of our unfortunate experience, not recommend this property to friends or relatives unless some major maintenance issues were taken care of like regrading the outside to prevent future flooding, adding some lighting in lower level kitchen and bathroom shower (very dark), and securing a new management company. Southern Resorts needs to address the lag time involved in responding to customer problems before we would ever rent a property managed by them again.Did you find this review helpful? Listing description was accurate regarding location close to beach. Pool not clean when we arrived. Was cleaned 2 days later. Downstairs refrigerator had no ice maker and 1 ice cube tray with hole in it. No garbage disposal in downstairs kitchen. Upstairs refrigerater's ice maker did not work. Upstairs garbage disposal did not work. Top sheets were not put on all 3 sets of bunk beds and DIRTY comforters laid on the clean bottom sheets. When requesting clean sheets, Southern Resorts Management Company said it was too late in day to get them and we had to wash sheets from 3 sets of bunk beds. When requesting ice cube trays, 3 days later Southern Resorts said they had none. First floor of home flooded on Wednesday morning around 8:30A.M. After hourly calls to Southern resorts, they finally sent someone out around 12:30 after we had cleaned up the water with 1 small mop, no buckets, and all available bath towels. After requesting clean towels to replace "flood soiled ones" at 9:00 A.M., they finally brought them around 4:30 P.M. Last 3 days of our vacation were ruined due to several noisy, large fans used to dry house that produced heat up to 90 degrees on the lower level of the house. We take these reviews very seriously and have made significant changes to prevent experiences like this one from happening in the future. While we could not prevent the flood, the service form the management company was controllable. We have since discontinued working with this agency and are very happy with the one we have on board now. All repairs have been made to the property and our agency is terrific. We now it can be difficult booking a property without having seen it, but rest assured we take our business seriously and work hard to ensure a pleasant stay for renters.
