Part 1 of 2: If this house were at half the cost I would say this is a great place to go and party with your friends. But before you decide to plunk down what I would consider Top Dollar rates, I urge you to consider the following things that you should know about the place: Just to be clear - I don't mean for this review to be mean-spirited, and I have included only very factual statements that can be confirmed by any member of our party. 1) The contract contained several fees not previously disclosed, including a limit on number of people (which we had to ask about to get removed), a hot tub usage fee, and a sheet and towel fee. That's right even though listing clearly says towels and sheets included, you will be charged per set of sheets and towels. 2) Owner lost track of our payments and requested multiple confirmations of the same payment, casting doubt on the whole transaction and at some point we wondered if we were even confirmed as we would never receive a reply from the owner. Owner always forgot who we were, where we were renting, and when, and so we repeated this information every time we spoke to her - again not very reassuring. Owner gave us multiple, identical lectures on how to set thermostats in the house among other information that was repeated to you many times. 2) The sheets and towels for which we were charged per set will were among the cheapest most threadbare available. Again, let me repeat, $per night does not include sheets. Owner will actually ask you if you need sheets or plan to bring your own! Also, if you are sleeping on one of the larger beds, your sheet may not fit on the mattress so you'll have to kind of curl yourself in it so as not to touch the mattress. Right, and you have to make your own bed. Owner claims that "we had a family there once who insisted that the sheets be off the bed so we know they're clean." Right. 3) The hot tub was not hot. So after you get charged for it, it hardly goes above 99 degrees, ie a warm bath at best. Not really worth the fee. 4) Hot tub was not adequately chlorinated and clearly not maintained. Water was filmy, the tub was slick as if with a mildew of some kind, and there were little brown/black things floating in the water. (to be cont'd)

Unless you think it's just a place to sleep and don't care much about the condition of your vacation house, stay away from this dump especially if you come with kids. We had eight families staying over the President's Day weekend. The owner does not maintain this house at all. They do have a cleaning lady to clean the house but the cleaning was minimal. The house is not just filthy but also with lots of broken furniture and nails sticking out from carpet and wall that is dangerous for kids and even adults. We had a five year old hurt from one of these hazardous trap the first night and ruined the rest of his trip. The jacuzzi advertised was a joke. Hot water ran out after 6 people took shower. The shower in one of the bathrooms was broken (was told by the owner before arrival). Big mistake. Should have rented two/three smaller houses to cater our big group. We even cut short of our stay and left one day early forfeiting the one-day rent. If you are a group of twenty-something with no kids and don't know better, this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay away!!!!

Great House for a Big Killington Ski Trip
Great House for a Big Killington Ski Trip
This is a great ski house! We traveled with a large group of late twenty somethings the weekend of the blizzard of '13. The house was perfect for large groups with plenty of bedrooms, many with 2-3 beds. The dining room was also perfect for large groups with 2 long, side-by-side dining room tables. There is a pool table and covered hot tub (which is HUGE). Despite getting 18+ inches of snow, the driveway was very well plowed, providing ample parking and no one getting stuck. The location is A++ the first house right off of the access road just minutes from the mountain, nightlife and literally a stones throw from the pizza place. The Wobbly Wagon had no problem getting us, knowing exactly where the house was. The owner (Noreen) is terrific, both friendly and helpful. Noreen called the night prior to the trip to ensure we we prepared for the on-coming snow storm as well to provide last minute instructions and confirming that we would have enough linens. She was also on call for our early arrivals to answer their questions checking in. Thanks Again Noreen, you made us feel like we were at home! We will definitely be in touch about future rentals.
