We shared the home with another family for the long weekend. Between the two families, we had four adults and five children. The home and property did more than accommodate us! We didn't leave the property as there was more than enough to keep us busy. We are still talking about how much fun we had. Thanks for the unforgettable memories on Lake Michigan!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: So glad you had a good time! That's what we love to hear, and we hear it often. We enjoy having renters because we love making people happy and sharing the magic of Lake Michigan.

The cottage is hidden by beautiful trees and Lake Michigan. It was very spacious for 6 adults and 2 active toddlers. My grandchildren loved the beach, and my black lab was in heaven roaming freely around the property! The family also enjoyed daily ice cream trips into Saugatuck and picking blueberries at a local blueberry farm. Connie and Hugh were gracious hosts....a true Michigan experience!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

1911 or 2011? Timeless. Behind you is the road through the woods where exotic black squirrels cavort, in front the lawn where foxes come to view the stars, below the leafy bank, the lake: primordial, the sea without the seaweed and the flotsam and on summer days as blue as the waters off Cancun. Nearby: two beach towns, Saugatuck and Douglas. Shop, drop, eat, drink, gorge on fudge, become the emperor of ice cream. The house comfortable, quiet, the silence blesséd, plus enough bathrooms to satisfy the most discerning fan of modern plumbing—it's all paradise!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a delightfull weekend in December 2009. It snowed hard which only added to the beauty of this location. We were there with a friend and our Lab. Lilly. Everything is on one floor. This makes it very nice for old knees. You will like this location any time of the year. We live about one hour to the East. This is known as one of the premier locations on the Lake Michigan shore. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This cottage was beyond our wildest dreams! It is situated in a private, secluded location yet just minutes away from Saugatuck/Douglas. The beach and sunset views are amazing. We enjoyed going to sleep and waking to the relaxing sounds of the waves and then spending our days either kayaking, swimming, or walking on the beach. After enjoying a cocktail and the sunset on the patio, we'd venture into town for a great meal at one of the many local restaurants. We're definitely planning a return visit!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was by far the best choice for a Lake Michigan house. It is a really quiet and private location, where you can enjoy the lake breezes and sunsets and only a short walk down the stairs to the beach. Very secluded, we saw lots of wildlife on our morning walks up Lakeshore drive. On the other days we walked the beach, and spent the whole day swimming at the beach. It has a great yard both front and back to play bean bags, frisbee and all. Have an evening cocktail, watch the sunset, and either cook at the cottage or head into town only 5 minutes away to the many restaurants that are available. I much prefer staying at a place where we only had to walk to the beach rather than pack up and drive. (this is the way to enjoy the beach) The cottage is very neat, with large bedrooms, kitchen/dining and family area. It was just what the doctor ordered for some quality family time. We will definitely be back for it is all you need for a family getaway if you want beach, sunsets, cottage, yard, proximity to town, and peacefulness. The stars were amazing to sit and view while doing some smores with the kids. Do yourself a favor and check it out..... you won't be disappointed!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent the week at this lovely cottage with a gorgeous Lake Michigan setting. The cottage is very spacious with 3 large bedrooms, lots of living space, a well equipped kitchen and large dining area. We loved zipping in to Saugatauk for shopping, dining, dune rides and blueberry picking. The front yard was the perfect place for friendly games of football, kickball and bean bag toss. Hope to go again soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a week here last summer with our two daughters. It was nice and relaxing for us, yet there was plenty to do for our 2 active girls. They especially liked playing on the beach and going kayaking, but they also had fun going into Saugatuck to see the boats and get ice cream. The shopping and restaurants are great in Saugatuck and Douglas, and both are just a short drive from the cottage. The cottage is really cute, and it was nice having a full kitchen so we could eat some meals in and having enough bedrooms so that everyone could have their own space.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This quaint cottage is in a private serene location with beautiful surroundings. The views from the front yard facing Lake Michigan are amazing; with a nicely manucured lawn for lawn games or just lounging. Steps down to the lake provide the perfect access to miles of private beach. The cottage itself is all one floor, with three spacious bedrooms perfect for families. We too loved being in a such secluded lakefront setting with the added benefit of easy access to nearby Saugatuck and Douglas. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Last summer, my family (6 adults and 4 children) stayed in this amazing cottage. We had so much space inside and outside and everyone had a great weekend. The cottage has very nice bedrooms, living space and a huge kitchen/eating area so everyone was very comfortable inside. Outside, has a very nice driveway- that the kids rode their bikes on and rollerbladed, so they were very active and loved the freedom of the secluded area. The beach side of the cottage is great- it has a nice lawn that was perfect for our nightly games of bocchi ball and hide and seek. And I can't forget to mention that the cottage sits on Lake Michigan, so we got to enjoy all the lake had to offer. We had an amazing weekend are hoping to return. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a relaxing break from reality!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
