We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this well-maintained cabin. The owner was very accommodating when I contacted her with a last minute reservation. The home is in a great location, close to the lake and park, and very close to downtown Black Mountain. We look forward to staying here again when we visit family in town.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this charming little cottage, close to everything Black Mountain has to offer. The owners were very helpful and accomodating and everything you might need was anticipated...well stocked kitchen, linens, etc. I would choose to stay there again. Really felt like my "home away from home". Janet from ConnecticutDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is a wonderful cottage! It is very clean and well organized. The cottage has all the tools to feel like you are at home. The deck is the perfect place to sit and relax or just sit and drink coffee! The location is perfect, close enough to town, but very peaceful. The nearby lake has a walking trail all the way around it and a wonderful play ground if you have children with you. The owner is fantastic, she will answer all the questions you might have and is easy to reach. We will stay here again when we are in the area.Did you find this review helpful? We have rented several houses in the area through Homeaway. Our daughter lived in Black Mountain and we like to rent a house so we can relax, make a family dinner, etc. This was a great location! We walked to the lake and park. The weather was stunning and leaves so beautiful. The beds were very comfortable! We have rented places where we have not been able to sleep well due to the beds and this was not the case here! The kitchen has all we needed. The girls curled up on the comfy couch and watched a movie at night. We had appitizers on the deck. It was perfect for our needs and we definately would rent this house again. The owners were easy to work with and very helpful! Thanks for a great memory!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was the perfect place to stay with my family! The location was incredible. So close to Lake Tomahawk with a great playground, pool and walking/running path. Plus SUP lessons on-site at Lake Tomahawk (thanks Chad and Jamie)! Easy walk to Black Mountain's adorable downtown and just a quick drive to Asheville. The bungalow was clean and very well stocked. Loved having laundry on-site. Could not have been happier with this choice! Thanks for a memorable stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Very cute 2 bedroom with great floor plan. Nice layout in a quiet neighborhood. Couldn't believe how close it is to town. Also impressed with how cute the place is - hardwood floors, nice furniture and pictures. Enjoyed the lake, the quiet, the back porch, the wifi, the nicely decorated, clean interior. Would highly recommend and come back here in a heartbeat. Super easy dealing with the owner. Everything was easy and simple, no hassles or problems whatsoever. Also enjoyed eating at Fresh pizza in town!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a great experience! The customer service was excellent and personable. I felt like I was talking with a close friend. The property was peaceful and perfectly located for the goals of our trip. We got a great feel for what it is like to live in beautiful Black Mountain. The cottage was beautifully decorated and incredibly clean, with all the necessary amenities. The local pizza at Fresh was delicious and the waitstaff very friendly. We loved Dynamite Roasting Company's coffee, which was a few minute drive from the cottage. Being walking distance to Lake Tomahawk was also a plus! I would absolutely recommend staying at this beautiful little cottage!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We are 2 old ladies (in our 70s) who wanted to get away from the heat in Florida and the crowds at Myrtle Beach. We were successful at both. This bungalow was convenient to stores, the lake, highways I-40 and State road 70 - both just 10-15 min. to Asheville. Black Mtn is a charming community with lovely sights and people. The bungalow was very easy to get in and out of. No steps or hills - important to older folks, but on a lovely field of grass ad flowers with a huge crabapple tree in back. Tennis and basketball courts right across the street, a CVS down the road, and Dollar General stores all over. Things to do - farmer's market on weekends, Blue Ridge parkway, visits to Boone and Asheville, wonderful pizaa at Fresh pizza. Nice library, furniture store, eating places. At night, we watched the TV which had good channels in HD. Many of the staples we thought we would have to buy were provided - spices, linens, cooking oil, soap and dryer sheets, shampoo, lotion, etc. All in all, a great trip.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This was my first visit to Black Mountain and it was even better than I imagined it would be. The property was clean, tastefully appointed, and just charming. The location was ideal! So close to the city park where Lake Tomahawk is the centerpiece of a walking trail. I walked there every morning and met such nice people. Some family members visited me and they now want to rent this cottage too! The owners were helpful and available at all times. The proximity to Asheville was a plus and the town of Black Mountain was idyllic. I recommend this cottage without reserve.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just loved the house and the surrounding area. It is bright and clean and comfortable. The kids loved the deck. In the evenings and mornings it was great to go and take a walk at the lake and feed the geese and ducks. We even got to pick blueberries from the community garden along side the lake. On top of it all the town and the hiking nearby were awesome too. We will definitely come again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This cottage was everything we had hoped for. The location is great -- we enjoyed our walks/runs around Lake Tomahawk, the nearby pool, and the Thursday night outdoor concert. We liked being able to walk to downtown Black Mountain with all the interesting shops and restaurants. We recommend dining at Fresh Wood Fired Pizza. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are great places to visit. (The Lodge at Lake Lure is where Dirty Dancing was filmed.) Asheville is a very short drive -- we recommend taking a Grayline trolley tour. Our trolley driver was both informative and entertaining. Great place! We hope to get back there someday.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We really enjoyed staying in the cottage. It has a great location, around the corner from Lake Tomahawk and just a few blocks from downtown Black Mountain. Not only was the location great the cottage itself was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and modern with all the conveniences of home. The bedrooms both sported sliding glass doors to a very large deck area. It was perfect for our needs and look forward to staying again next year. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed for 3 weeks with my mother while she had her cataracts done in Asheville and we loved it. Great location with the Lake Tomahawk right there and downtown Black Mountain only a few blocks away. Easy drive to Asheville either on the interstate or only a few minutes longer on state road 70. Quiet & comfortable and seems to have been recently fixed up. Only downside was that only very basic cable but I guess most people aren't there as long and not watching TV ;) Definitely will be back on next trip to Black Mountain. Have been several times and stayed with friends but its great to find place to stay when needed or when its more than just me.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Great location for an active vacation. Walking distance to downtown, block from lake and right across the street from tennis courts. Two mile drive to hiking trails in Montreat, Ridgecrest, and other conference centers. Easy access to I-40 and short drive to Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of activities going on in Black Mountain and surrounding areas. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a central location to the surrounding adventures or just a place to chill in the mountains. Well maintained home. Owners have put a lot of effort and care into meeting the needs of the tenants.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
