Rustic post adobe 750 sq. ft. cottage offering a tranquil and private setting. Located within walking distance to downtown Carmel, Carmel River State Park, beaches, and next door to the historic Mission San Carlos de Borromeo.
The cottage is a split level design, with the living room and dining area on the lower level, and the bedroom and bathroom on the upper level. High vaulted ceilings enhance the living room and bedroom.
Interior furnishings include a comfortable queen size bed, a fold out sofa in the living room and tasteful antique furniture throughout. Will sleep four comfortably. Sorry, pets are not allowed.
A unique Carmel Charmer! Perfect for weddings and services at the Carmel Mission. A short walk to the starting line of the Big Sur Marathon and shuttle service to the ATT ProAm and Pebble Beach Concours de Elegance.
There are his and hers touring bicycles for our guests use and a B-B-Q on the porch.
The house is very quiet, a perfect romantic get-away for couples hoping for privacy and comfort. This is a very unique Carmel charmer.

Both the town and the cottage were wonderful. We loved the fireplace and all the little touches in the cottage. The sofa bed was indeed surprisingly comfortable and our host was so helpful and suggesting different places to go, drives to check out and places to eat. We drove from Seattle to LA and this was a hidden gem among all the big cities and national parks along the way.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Year Purchased: 1959
About the owner: Fay and Curt are the most recent family occupants of the Carmel House known as 'Mudlark'. Curt helped his father build the guest house (called the 'Folly') in 1965, with the adjacent main house having been first built in 1956 by his grandfather, and enlarged over the years by his father (with a little help from the two boys). Fay has finished the Folly with unique pieces and charm, giving it a less rustic character from the old days. The Folly was given a complete make-over in 2010, with new kitchen appliances and enhancements throughout. Very cozy!
