Our 6,000 sq foot mountain home, located on a high point just above Fraser, boasts the most spectacular distance views in the Winter Park area! Through three walls of windows you'll see Beyer's Peak, the slopes of Winter Park, the Devil's Thumb, and the Indian Peaks all around while you look down upon the Devil's Thumb Ranch cross country ski terrain. High-end details in this home that was completely remodeled in 2009 include designer bedding and art, baths remodeled with stone tiles, and copper bar tops, radiant in-floor heating. Check out lots more photos on our website, www.ososoverlook.com, and then use the calendar and the contact form at the right for inquiries. To avoid phishing scams, we will not reply to inquiries with no particulars (especially number of guests or dates.) Thanks for your understanding.
Host your cocktail party, reunion, or corporate retreat here! This house is ideal for entertaining, business meetings, groups of couples, and family gatherings. The 30x30' great room has a dining table that seats 10 comfortably, a bar table for 4, and a kitchen bar area that seats another 6. Caterers can bring extra tables and chairs for large outdoor gatherings. Seating groupings within the open area and grand entry allow for quieter conversations and relaxing by the fireplaces. A large balcony and fireplace greet you as you enter. Glass doors open from the great room to a covered patio with outdoor furnishings for eating or relaxing and enjoying the unbelievable views. We have five gas fireplaces, radiant in-floor heathing and a spa to warm you. Huge vaulted ceilings with designer furnishings throughout will impress your guests. The huge open kitchen is gourmet quality with six gas burners, two ovens, three sinks, and two dishwashers making catering, cooking, and cleaning up a breeze, even for large groups.
Tired of sharing bathrooms? This house was formerly a bed and breakfast that underwent a total remodel and addition of a big Great Room. The 2 king and 4 queen bedrooms have internal private baths and closets (except for one queen upstairs that has its own dedicated bathroom in the hall). 3 bathrooms have a tub and a shower and 4 have shower stalls. Each bedroom has its own balcony or a separate exit at ground level. The 'owner's suite' is four rooms -- one office with a computer, one sitting room with a private fireplace, a sleeping area and a private 5-piece bath with a steam shower. The basement was remodeled in a 'mining' theme. It has four twin-sized beds in a bunk room. Also in the basement is a media room equipped with a big screen TV and a queen pullout sofa sleeper. A 3/4 bath serves bunk room guests. The king bedroom on the first floor is accessible to wheelchairs, but help to use the shower or tub would be needed. Two complete sets of washers and driers keep the vacation laundry moving.
The Winter Park area has lots to do. In the winter, ski at Winter Park and Mary Jane, or snowmobile and cross country ski. Great fishing and almost limitless world-class mountain biking is available in the summer. We have a gas grill, a two-car garage, a spa, and seven acres your kids can roam around on. Our kids like to set up bike jumps in the summer and bobsled courses in the winter. Within 45 minutes are Lake Granby for waterskiing or sailing, and Grand Lake with its water sports and classic boardwalk. For such a small town, the Winter Park area has casual and fine dining, and the 5-star spa at Devil's Thumb Ranch is just a short drive away. Come play, dine and reconnect.

We stayed at Oso's Overlook for my husbands 40th Birthday. We stayed with several other couples. Everyone was extremely impressed with the property. It was very clean and well maintained. The views of the valley are breathtaking, the rooms are roomy and amazing, the kitchen is very well stocked with appliances, cookware, utensils, etc. The owner's were very helpful and friendly. They gave very clear driving directions and instructions. We skied at Mary Jane, they were having a birthday celebration. In the evening we could see fireworks at the resort from the living room. Overall it was an amazing trip. We will be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Spent 2 nights there this January- great location and excellent views. The house was perfect for our 7 person corporate outing and both gave us plenty of common area to meet and cook together while the rooms also gave us plenty of privacy. Highly recommend this house to others!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

From the minute we walked in the door we knew it was going to be a great vacation. The house is awesome! The photos don't do the house justice, its even better in person. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we never felt crowded in our group of 20+. The mountains could be seen at every every point in the house and we all enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. The red and artic foxes would sneak in for a closer peek and a porcupine clung to the pine tree outside the house. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pans and dishes. We stayed in and cooked dinner most evenings but did enjoy a little pizza place with $$$ stuck to the walls, good food! The house located with easy access to Winter Park Ski Resort as well as Sol Vista, which we loved. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Stayed in this house February of 2012 with a large group of friends. Everything was incredible from the space to the furnishings and finishes. I have stayed in some houses that did not measure up to the pictures. This house is the exception. It is even larger and more beautiful in person. The views are incredible and we got to see artic and red foxes and porcupines. The kids loved the movie room and we had space for several people to work together preparing meals in the kitchen. 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators, 3 sinks and lots of counter space. We also had plenty of glasses, plates, silverware, etc. The owners even blew up some extra air mattresses and left us extra bath and spa towels. They catered to our every need and we all hope to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Oso's Overlook was the perfect place for our family and friends to gather over a long wedding weekend of events. Each bedroom was well appointed, comfortable and private. The public areas were perfect for a cocktail reception on Thursday and a farewell brunch on Sunday. At no time were the 60 or so guests crowded. Each guest made comments about how lovely the home was and several took information about Oso's so they could book it at a later date. The lower bedrooms and baths of the home were perfect for the eight ladies in the wedding party to gather to have their makeup and hair done by professionals from Boulder. The professional kitchen was an impressive, spacious place in which the staff of Chef on the Rocks was able to create their culinary magic. The owners have done a wonderful job with the website for Oso's, however the pictures are not able to truly capture the beauty of the views or the coziness and comfort of the home. ALL of our expectations were met and exceded and we would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: We're pleased you chose our house to host the bride and her family. It's so nice that your cocktail and brunch parties held at our house worked so well -- the huge Great Room incorporates a kitchen/bar that offer great flow for such events. Come back soon.

Oso's Overlook was the perfect place for our Church Youth Group to spend its time together. There was plenty of room for us to eat and share our devotionals together. Each room provided a peaceful night's sleep and a breath taking view. When we arrived, we were given a guided tour of this amazing house and all it had to offer. It was very well maintained, clean, and lacked absolutely nothing. We hope to return for our annual trip to Winter Park Ski Resort and stay in this amazing house in 2012. United Methodist Youth Fellowship Ness City, Kansas March 19-22, 2011 Ski Trip 2011Owner response: Thanks for the great review. We're glad you enjoyed staying at our place in March of 2011.
