We have just returned from an 8 day stay in this beautiful apartment. Our only regret is that we did not stay another week. The apartment is lovely and definitely enhanced our stay in this wonderful city. Coming back to it after a busy day and watching darkness fall over the Bosporus was an unbelievable experience. The apartment is so much more than we expected. We had been concerned about being a few blocks from Taksim Square that it might be hectic and noisy but the apartment is down the hill and on a dead end street. We never heard a sound. It is beautifully decorated and immaculate. The location provided us with the experience of shopping in the nearby Cihangir at the market, the bakery and vegetable stands. For those “oh no” moments there is a small corner store just up the block. Everyone in Turkey is so friendly. Whether they speak English or you are fluent in Turkish; it is a seamless experience. We loved that we had the opportunity to walk down to the trams or up to the funicular. It provided us with the opportunity to enjoy the neighborhoods. The owner is amazing. From the first interaction the focus was how can I help? I’ll answer whatever questions you may have...and indeed this was the case. Can’t imagine an owner kinder, more gracious, or more accessible. I wanted to go away with my princess far away, in a castle hidden at the end of the world, located high near the sky. And yes, I found this wonderful place in Istanbul, Turkey. While enjoying a magnificent view on the Bosphorus, we discovered what made this place so incredibly perfect. Our hosts! With their warm and caring attitude, they made our stay so perfect that I would go back to this apartment every year if I could. Thank you again Zenep and Dennis for letting us share a little parcel of your life. Je voulais m’envoler avec ma princesse dans un château caché au bout du monde et situé très haut près du ciel. Oui, je l'ai trouvé cet endroit merveilleux à Istanbul, en Turquie. Tout en profitant de la vue magnifique qui donne sur le Bosphore, nous avons découvert la raison qui rend cet endroit aussi incroyablement parfait. Nos hôtes! Par leur attitude chaleureuse et bienveillante, ils ont rendu notre séjour dans cet appartement si parfait que j’y reviendrais chaque année si je le pouvais. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 2 week stay in this very comfortable and extremely roomy apartment. All amenties were as stated and all in very good condition. The owner, who was only a phone call away, was very helpful with advice and recommendations for interesting excursions. A flight of steps at the entrance of the apartments takes you down to the street below with a 5 minute walk to the tram stop. On the way you pass the butcher, a greengrocer, a supermarket and a number of small cafes. The tram, for a fee of 2 Turkish Lira will take you, across the Galata Bridge to all the historical sites in the old Istanbul including the Grand Bazaar. Alternatively leaving the apartment a 5 minute walk will take you up to Taksim Square, the commercial centre of modern Istanbul. Also the famous pedestarian concourse, Istikal Caddasi, commences its 3 kiliometer downhill run to the Galata Tower from the Square. There are many excellent restaurants, bars and cafes in the surrounding Cihangir and Beyoglu areas, all within walking distance from the apartment. We strongly suggest taking the tram to Eminonu and picking up the Kadakoy ferry and enjoy a fantastic authentic Turkish meal at the Ciya Restaurant for a very reasonable cost. Coming back to the apartment after a full day of sightseeing and enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the view of one of the most amazing waterways in the world is an end to a perfect day.Owner response: We welcome future guests as sophisticated and knowledgeable as our past visitors.

If you want to stay in Istanbul in a quite local neighbourhood but just 5 /10 minutes from all the transport you need to visit all parts of Istanbul (trams, boats, buses) and surronded by interesting neighbourhoods and bustling, vibrant shopping, eating, drinking then this is the place. Better still it has one of the best views you could ask for, excellent facilities and an owner as helpful and friendly as you could possibly wish for.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We stayed in this apartment for 10 days. What a pleasure! Unlike many rentals, this is a fully equipped home. Being in a local neighbourhood provides you with an authentic view of life in Istanbul that you won't get in a more touristy area. It's in a hilly part of town, so you have to be able to do some hills and stairs, yet you're a 5-10 minute walk to Taksim and very close to taxis, the tram and the funicular so it's super easy to get around. This is as close as you'll get to living in Istanbul without signing a lease. And that view; it's breathtaking. You can see everything from cargo ships and sailboats to tankers, ferries, submarines and even seagulls flying past the living room window. We never turned on the (flat screen) TV once. If you get the chance to stay here, I'd grab it. We wouldn't just recommend this to friends or family, we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+.
