This beautifully decorated unit is one of two units located in a private home in a residential area on the Atlantic Ocean at Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, Florida. These two units, on the first floor of this home, provide a quiet, restful atmosphere far from the noise and activity of hotel or condo vacations.
The owners occupy the second floor, are available for any assistance, but are completely unobtrusive. The second unit in this home is a two bedroom and can be viewed at VRBO 221163. Rented together, ten guests can be accommodated. Discounted rates are available for booking both units. Please e-mail or call if interested in both units.
Each unit has its own private entrance, exits, covered porches and decks.
Located in a quiet residential area, this one bedroom, two bath unit provides a quiet and relaxing getaway to a beach that is never crowded. This unit was completely remodeled in April 2010 and features new appliances, furniture and jetted tub in the master bath.
The second bath is equipped with a roomy shower and is conveniently located for guests who might use the new living room sleeper sofa. Sliding glass doors from the living room open to the covered outdoor dining / sitting area. The attached sunning deck leads to the protective walkover to the beach.

The rental was impecable and well furnished. The owner was helpful in all aspects and very pleasant. The listing was accurate as well as the photos. You just cannot beat staying practically on the beach and hearing the waves. This place was perfect and we hope to come again sometime this summer.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband,dog and I spent a lovely 4 days here over The New year. I,initially, had some reservations about the owners being on sight. It was never an issue. I fact,they proved to be most helpful. This rental was delightful,clean,fully equipped and the view from both kitchen and living areas is stunning. The outdoor eating area is pleasant and private. The location is great,very centrally located. There are 2 fun restaurants within walking distance (1/2 mile for one and about 1 mile to the other). The town of Fernadina is a short pleasant drive and the south end of the island is an easy drive as well. We have rented quite a few places on the island and this one is definetly a keeper.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners.

This rental is a great location and so clean! It is perfect for two people and would be comfortbale with 4 if needed. It was close to downtown but also far enough away that the beach was not crowded during the day. There was a great private shower outside to rinse off, which was very helpful with our dog. We also used the grill to cook dinner one night and it worked great. Our stay was great and I will look at availability here for our next vacation!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This was the weekend we Flynn guys (me and my three sons) get away from our normal environment, kill the cell phones and computers and just speak to each other. It was great. The house couldn't have been more appropriate. It was a great location, beautifully appointed and really comfortable. I have never rented a house or apartment that was so well equipped. Other than my three-year-old pulling the fire alarm at Ft. Clinch, the weekend was perfect. We want to come back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Enjoyed the Island and the cottage. Everything was clean and comfy. The view was to die for. The proprietors very nice, reachable but not at all intrusive. Would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Our Week stay at the one bedroom unit Pelican Roost was Great . This unit was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a weeks stay at the beach. All we needed was our clothes and groceries. The owner was on site and was there when we needed her . Brenda was great, and was spot on when we had a minor issue. We were able to take our dog which was a big plus for us . All in all nice quiet relaxing place to stay. We recommend Lulu's at the Thomson House in the historic district as a restaurant to try , the crab cakes were the best !!!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I found this vacation rental simply by accident and I'm so glad I did! Upon entering the unit, I and my family felt right at home. It had a more "private" feel, unlike a hotel or condo. Everything you would need is in the unit; all you need to bring is clothes and groceries. And did I mention, beachfront? A 50' stroll on a private boardwalk and you're there. Although Fernandina Beach is already not a crowded beach, there was only about 40 people within 100 yards in either direction, so it's great if you want a great private, family atmosphere. Back to the house; it was super clean and well appointed. We loved it! It's great for a couple or even a family with small children. It has a private outdoor patio with a dinette table, and a deck that is shared with the 2 bedroom unit. I highly recommend this rental; just make sure you book it on a week different than me, because I WILL be coming back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

About the owner: Jim and Brenda - We are retired from long careers in telecommunications and have traveled extensively in the US and abroad. We've been many beautiful places but none are as beautiful as Amelia Island. The island still has the small town feel and people are friendly. Nature thrives on Amelia!

Amelia Island is a small, unspoiled barrier island with a beautiful Victorian village. Almost everything on the island in within five minutes drive. Locals are friendly and helpful. If you need a bigger city 'fix', Jacksonville is only 45 minutes away.
