The main reaction we get to our property is "Wow, this is sooo much more than we expected!" This is an upstairs apartment, in a beautiful country setting. It is large enough to be comfortable (1000(+) sq. ft) but at the same time, very cozy. Off of the bedroom deck (with french doors) it overlooks the trout pond. The deck is equipped with lovely patio furniture and a wonderful BBQ so you can bbq yummy steaks and sit and relax while eating dinner on the deck and enjoying the beauty and quiet. We have a large childrens swing/play area, picnic table and fire pit in the yard and a u-fish trout pond for kids 12 yrs. and under (catch & release,up to 3 per day).
The kitchen is fully equipped and we have full laundry facilities for your convienance. There is a wrap around bar with stools so you may prepare meals while visiting with your company if you choose to eat inside. There is also a pub table with 4 stools to accommodate eating in the window dormer. Fully furnished with books to read, board games to play and a DVD for watching movies. There is plenty of parking if you need to bring along a boat or rv.
We are located right inbetween Sequim and Port Angeles, a great central place to play or relax. We are close to beaches, parks, animal farm , Hurricane Ridge, ferries to Victoria, Lake Sutherland and Lake Crescent. Port Townsend and Forks (Twilight lovers)are not too far away.

Our family had a great time at this apartment. Our kids keep talking about going back to the farm with "the lady on the tractor". I'm so glad we stayed here rather than Port Angeles. It was an easy drive into town and to the other sites around, and it was so much nicer to be in the open country with lovely views. The playground was a big hit as well as the pond with the "rainbow fish". We had everything we needed in the apartment, including fresh baked cake! Thanks for a great stay.Recommended for: Families with young children.

This was a wonderful place to stay in Port Angeles. Close to Hurricane Ridge and downtown Port Angeles. There is a also a walmart close buy to pick up groceries. The owner was wonderful and so accommodating to our family. It is very cozy and decorated so wonderfully. My kids loved it here. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a deck outside off the bedroom to enjoy meals or just read a book and relax. The area is so peaceful. If we are ever back in Wa State we would love to come back and stay here!!!Owner response: Thanks you guys! It was so nice to have you here! Aiden was totally tickled to have your boys here, it totally made his summer vacation! I would love to have you back:) Thanks again, Rhonda

We really enjoyed this property. It is clean, well maintained, and in a beautiful setting just outside Port Angeles. The owners are wonderful hosts. There is much to do and see in the area but the apartment and deck are so nice, we found ourselves really enjoying our breaks from sight-seeing. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed at this rental for 5 wonderful days. The place is great. It is located in close proximity to many local attractions and at the same time is hidden away from everybody surrounded by nature. The house is spacious, clean, well maintained, and very cozy. It has everything you would need. The owner is the nicest person we have ever met. If we come back to the area, we would definitely stay at this place again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Tamara, Thank you soooo much for your wonderful response. This is what makes my vacation rental so satisfying to me! It makes it so worth while to have people enjoy and appreciate it so much! Thanks for coming, I enjoyed visiting with you guys. I would love you to come back again sometime! Rhonda :)

My sister and I came for hiking, seafood, and R&R - this was the perfect spot for us! We were so impressed with how comfortable and spacious the place was, how friendly and helpful Rhonda was, and we loved the view of the mountains from our windows. Rhonda surprised us with a delicious berry crisp one morning, and that was a definite hi-light! The property was absolutely spotless, and well-stocked with everything we needed. It was about a 15 minute drive to either Port Angeles or Sequim, and convenient to lots of sight-seeing spots. We loved hiking in the mountains, the Hoh Rainforest, and the Lavender Festival in Sequim! I would recommend this place in a heartbeat - thank you Rhonda!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Ruthann, Thank you so much! I am glad you girls had a good time! Hope the rest of your summer is great and you come back to see me again!!! Thanks for leaving the place sooo neat! Rhonda

It's been a year later and my son still talks about his favorite place we've ever stayed. Your home away from it all is close enough to do everything. It is perfect to get away from it all and feel like your part of the community. My son especially loved the fishing every night and the gigantic backyard furnished with lots of toys to play. He never wanted to leave. We enjoyed the deck and solitude. Thanks Again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

this garage suite was very nicely appointed for a comfortable place to stay as a hub or a place to be. the farm-like surroundings were fine to be in. a small pond with trout was fun for our kids to try and catch. close to hwy 101, this was a great hub to go out to Hurricane Ridge, Port Angeles, Dungeoness Spit and Fort Worden. Affordably prices compared to other locations.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was our first private residence vacation rental. We weren't sure what to expect, but Rhonda's property far exceeded our expectations. Rhonda made us feel very welcomed and even had a dessert waiting for us when we arrived. Our kids absolutely loved staying here and were sad when our time was up. The location was an ideal starting point for spending a day in Port Angeles, going to Forks, and even riding the ferry to Canada. The interior was decorated nicely and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed when we returned each evening. We would highly recommend staying at the Cozy Country Rental!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

About the owner: David and Rhonda were born and grew up in Port Angeles, both coming from "logging" families. After logging went down, Dave got into construction and has been a Construction Superintendant for the last 25 years. Rhonda got her certificate in Interior Design and has lots of her own projects to play with, as well as painting for others and helping Dave on his big commercial projects at times.
Why the Owner Chose Port Angeles:
We bought our property up Blue Mountain Rd. as a personal residence, not actually as a vacation rental. We built the 3-car garage (wood shop) apartment, as a temporary home while we developed the rest of the property. The plan was to have a "mother-in-law" apartment or guest house after we finished our final home. We lived in the apartment for approximately 3 years, our daughter lived in it for another year and then we decided it might be fun to just have it available as a vacation rental.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
First of all, we are centrally located to many wonderful places to go visit! Then there is the beauty and comfort factors! We are on 5 wonderful acres in the country, but not far from the towns of Sequim and Port Angeles! We have a beautiful mountain view and it is green and serene here! We have a trout pond that we have just stocked with several hundred new fish! Also have a childrens' swing/play set in the yard next to a picnic table and fire ring. We often have 2-4 deer in our yard or around the property. You may often see 2 bald eagles in the adjoining field or hovering over our fish pond! In the spring-summer we have some wild bunnies that hop around. There of course, are other little creatures, such a chipmunks and many birds, to include woodpeckers who like to peck on our bedroom exterior wall!
