  This sweet apartment was a perfect place to explore Gettysburg. It is close to all the sights, so it was extremely convenient when one of us had to go back to the apartment with the kids because they had had it for the day. It is also in walking distance (if you like to walk) to a nice big supermarket. Sam got us an amazing guide for the day and provided up with restaurant and activity information. The apartment itself was very spacious, kitchen well equipped and very clean. The kids (11 and 13) loved the loft area so much they both decided to sleep up there instead of the bedroom. It was nice to stretch out after being in a hotel room for two nights prior. Sam's store downstairs is pretty amazing, a museum in itself. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in spending some time in Gettysburg

  We had a great time at this apartment! We are a group of college students/recent grads who stayed while we were skiing/snowboarding at Liberty Mtn Resort. The loft was definitely the high point. The tv and couches were really great to hang out by. We also recommend Gettysburg Eddies, the restaurant next door to The Horse Soldier! We can't wait to return!

  I try to avoid staying at the same ol' same ol', and this apartment rental in the heart of Gettysburg certainly fits the bill. It's spacious, tidy, and very comfortable. The owner was thoughful and courteous, and made our arrival easy. And the tap water is really tasty too!

  We just wanted to say what a wonderful time we had in Gettysburg in October and this apartment was a PERFECT place to call home for three nights. Frankly, I didn't want to leave. You've got the best location (anyone who's anyone is going in and out of The Horse Soldier) and a special space that feels like home. You've really thought of everything, from the quaint kitchen (with all the equipment, plates, cutlery, etc.) To the amazing TV/Den space upstairs. We we comfortable and cozy. Add to it the additional bonus of off street "reserved" parking, and you've got some loyal repeat customers in us. Thanks again for your hospitality. We'll be back in the Spring!

  My family and I are veterans of visiting Gettysburg, having visited there at least 40 times over the last 25 years. I can say without a doubt that the Horse Soldier apartment was the nicest, most spacious, and best located accomodation we have ever enjoyed in all of our years coming to visit. Add to all of that the fact that the price is very reasonable. Finally, I inadvertantly left something in the apartment when I left, and the owners proactively contacted me and mailed it back to me! That's beyond great customer service - that's simply good old fashioned courtesy which is distressingly difficult to find these days. Do yourself a favor and stay here - but please don't pick the weekends that I'll be back out there staying at the Horse Soldier apartment!

  Three friend and I enjoyed a three day weekend in Gettysburg at The Horse Soldier's new rental in October. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean. The lower level has two large bedrooms with more than ample closet space in each, a kitchen with full-size refrigerator, range, and cupboard space, a dining room with washer and dryer, and bathroom. Upstairs are two large rooms with couches (one with a fold-out bed), and a large screen TV. Conveniently located accross from the Gettysburg National Cemetary, The Horse Soldier is in walking distance of battlefield attractions, various shops, dining, and evening entertainment. Take some time to browse through The Horse Soldier - a premier vender of Civil War, World War I, and World War II artifacts. Start your visit to Gettysburg at the new Visitors Center which can build enthusiasm from even the most disinterested. It offers a blend of video productions, historical items, maps, and hands on devices to tell the story of the American Civil War, the clash of armies at Gettysburg and its aftermath. Staying at the comfortable, affordable Horse Soldier accommodation and enjoying the history, entertainment, shopping, and good times with family and friends makes an incredibly enjoyable visit. We plan to return to Gettysburg and the amenities of The Horse Soldier soon...and recommend you do the same.

  We were very pleased with this apartment; it is exactly as described... It is clean and well equiped for a family vacation. We stayed with our 2 college age children, and we enjoyed the ample living/sleeping spaces and the free internet connection. The location is perfect...with plenty of shops and restaurants just steps away, or take a longer walk to Lincoln Square where there are even more choices. We would absolutely recommend this rental to our friends, and hope to return ourselves... when we can.

  We really enjoyed our stay here. We got in late and have 3 kids so they already set up an extra pull out upstairs for us. Also anytime we needed anything the owners were always immediate in their responses. The place looks just like the picture and is within walking distance to the cemetary and tons of neat shops, muesums and restaurants!! We loved being able to pack up with the kids and just walk and explore everything. My 3 boys loved this place and took over the living room. Can't say enough good things! Perfect location, great owners and their shop is right below and a really nice place for antiques! Thanks so much for a wonderful family vacation spot! We will only stay here any trip we make back!

  If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the Gettysburg area then this is the place to stay. What you see in the photo's on the website is exactly what the apartment looks like. It's a very quaint, homely apartment, great for families, very clean and well maintained. It's a short stroll to great food, attractions and local shops. 2 of the best places to eat in town were Eddies (next door) and if you want something a little more upmarket The Dobbin House was exceptional. As for attractions, the apartment is directly located in the center of the Gettysburg Battlefield Park, and you are surrounded by all the attractions the town has to offer including the Welcome Center. The owners were very welcoming and very friendly, and the one issue that we did have with the internet, they had fixed immediately. We would recommend rental of this apartment to all of our family and friends and anyone else that is looking for wonderful accommodation at a great price.
