The minute we walked into our unit at Kona Reef we knew we had found the perfect home-away-from-home. The view is really lovely. One of our favorite early morning and late afternoon pastimes was to watch the waves from the lanai. We enjoyed the pool area, the grass between the pool and ocean, and the little beach next door. Kona Reef is situated just far enough from the center of town so we could enjoy a walk and yet not be too far from all amenities. Tony and Linda were wonderful to work with; we couldn't have asked for a nicer reception, more care, or a better furnished unit. Lava Java and Bongo Ben's were great breakfast places; Sam Choy's was the perfect night out for dinner. When we return to Kona we know where we will be staying.

We stayed in this unit for 5 nights from Dec 19, 2012. Location is excellent - it's close enough to the downtown and shopping area, yet it's in the quiet area. The unit has ocean view, nice pool, clean and well maintained. The booking was easy. If we have a chance to go back to Kona in the future, I would certainly stay in this condo. Thank you Linda.

My family and I were in Kona for IronMan week. Linda & Tony not only are fabulous hosts, they have a wonderful little condo in a perfect location. The condo is just beyond the 1mi marker on Alii. Easy to walk to the pier and everything along the way - Huggos, Java on the Rocks, Lava Java, Humpys, etc. The condo is perfectly comfortable - there were 4 of us staying there & it accommodated us well (though, we didn't spend too much time just hanging out in the condo! ) The kitchen had everything we needed. Nice balcony overlooking ocean and wonderful breeze through condo. AC for sleeping if you need it. Thanks, L & T for being a wonderful part of our IM week and experience.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Highly recommend this condo, cannot thank Linda enough for all her assistance in making our stay at Kona a memorable one. The unit is as just as it is in the photos, beautifully presented and the view is to die for, having breakfast and cocktails on the lanai every day was wonderful. Just a short stroll to the restaurants and shopping, wonderful, thank you again Linda for your hospitality will definately stay again if we visit Kona again.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Beautiful Ocean View & Excellent Location

Location was excellent. Only 5-10 minute walk to Kona Village where there are numerous shops and restaurants. The complex is right on Alii Drive which has a well defined paved path with mile markers for runners and cyclists. The photos of the unit are exactly as it appears. It is very clean and very well maintained. We really enjoyed the roomy balcony where we shared several great meals. The pool, Jacuzzi, and gas grills on the property were also clean (esp. the gas grills) and well maintained and fun to use. We enjoyed meeting the other guest while using each of them and shared great advice about what to see and do while visiting the island. The beach front property was an ideal location to see sea turtles and view the beautiful sunsets each night (there are several comfy lawn chairs at the waters edge). We rented a car at Kona airport, drove directly to Costco (which was on the way) to get our food for the week then proceeded to the condo. Additionally there are many other supermarkets and stores (e.g., Safeway, Longs, Target, etc.) in the nearby area. Kona is very well developed and it was easy to find whatever we needed. Linda and Tony were very helpful in answering our questions prior to renting the unit (as we had never done this before) and even made themselves available by giving us their phone number if we should need anything while in town. Linda also recommended Hawaii Revealed which was an excellent guidebook for us. When we walked into the unit we were greeted with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers to congratulate us on our marriage. The unit is well stocked with kitchen dishes, utensils, coffee pot, toaster and even a blender. In addition to your food remember to purchase spices/seasoning for cooking. The unit has a washer and dryer which was great because it allowed us to pack lightly for our 10 day stay. Some of our highlights include: Hapuna Beach, Mauna Kea Beach both stunningly beautiful, Kona Brewery for dinner and live music on Sunday night, Volcano National Park and driving through rainy Hilo because it was beautiful to see the different landscape. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend this unit to anyone. Upon leaving my husband realized that he had mistakenly left some of his laundry in the clothes dryer. I e-mailed Linda and she promptly mailed the box of clothing back to us in California. We sincerely appreciated the hospitality of Linda and Tony and look forward to our return visit.

We stayed for 5 days. it was close to Ali'i drive and fit just what we needed for our trip. The unit was clean spacious and met our expectations. The owners wee very friendly in communicating the rental. We would stay again for sure.

We spent a week in this condo and it was everything this site said it would be and more. It had everything we needed, including a blender for frozen drinks! We had 100% Kona coffee on the lanai in the morning listening to the waves crash and evening cocktails on the lanai while watching the beautiful sunsets. We also saw dolphins and whales from both the lanai and the next door beach, where we used the provided beach mats to sit on and watch dolphins and sunsets. We were very surprised that we did not need to use the air conditioning at all, even though the temperature was around 80 every day we were there...having the windows and patio door open created a very pleasant temperature inside. Steve was VERY impressed with the cleanliness of the pool side BBQ grills, and we saw a man cleaning them every morning, as well as the pool and walkways. Kona Reef is within walking distance to shops and eating establishments...we walked to supper every night, except the night Steve made steaks on the grill. We will definitely keep Kona Reef in mind for our next visit, unless we just go ahead and buy a condo there! (Seriously, we talked with a real estate agent while we were in Kona!) Thank you, Linda and Tony, for sharing your home and making our stay seem like we were "home!"

See and hear the surf from the lanai (balcony)

What a lovely place! We went to sleep listening to the waves crash on the shore and then woke up in the morning to the same sounds. Fantastic central location. Magical view. Close enough to town to walk there, but far enough away to not be bothered by the crowds. Very clean. We saw groundskeepers clean the pool and grounds every morning. A bonus to have parking available. Thank you so much for sharing your home! Our two teenagers now have memories to last a life time.
