  We chose to stay in the Honokowai area as we had friends who were staying near Napili. We were really surprised to find that the location was actually just perfect! We were just a few miles from our friends yet close enough to be just a few miles away from Lahaina. Paki Maui is a great place to stay with lots of shoppng near by. There is a farmers market just across the way as well as just slightly down the road. There is Badass Coffee across the street which is great and I HIGHLY suggest going to Ohana Taco which is across the steet as well. We went there twice and it was amazing (they only take cash). The condo its self was nice. Great living room with a balcony looking over a coy pond. We spent many mornings out there with a cup of coffee. While there is no ocean view the beach is just a hop skip and a jump away. There are some lounge chairs out on the grassy area where you can sit and watch a beautiful sunset. There are a few things to note. There is only one set of bathroom towels so I highly suggest washing them at least once if you plan on staying a week or more (on site laundry is down the hall). There is an iron but no ironing board so we had to iron our wedding clothes on the floor with a towel. Also it gets hot with no a/c. We left the ceiling fans on all day and never really closed the patio door. So dress light! Overall it was a great experience and a very afforable price. We would love to stay there again when we come to Maui. Thank you so much Bill!

  Owner response: Thanks for the review Jennifer.I`m really sorry about the ironing board.There used to be one there.Every once in a while when guests have friends staying in the complex things get shifted around and never return.I`ve notified my maid to replace the missing ironing board.Not that it does you any good now.It must have been an unseasonable windless period when you visited.The trade winds usually provide enough wind to keep the unit relatively cool.There pretty consistent throughout the year.I lived on Maui 34 years and the only time it get really hot is when the trade winds stop blowing.I hope you have a very happy marriage and look forward to you visiting again.   My wife and I just returned from Maui and we loved this little condo. The description and pictures do accurately reflect the room and location. Location is nice. I thought it was going to be further from Lahaina and Kaanapali than it really is. Plus, there is everything you need (grocery stores, farmers markets, gift shops, restaurants) right across the street or within walking distance. Directions for check-in/out are easy. Parking is included. We never actually got to meet Bill, which was too bad, because he was very helpful and was great at maintaining contact and answering questions throughout. The property and room were clean and well maintained. We loved the lanai with the pond and tropical gardens below. We sat out there every morning for coffee and reading, and evenings for cocktails and cribbage, while listening to the birds and the koi pond. There is a big grassy area between the pool area and the shore with lounge chairs, so you can just lay back look at the water and Molokai in the background. Don't expect a big sandy beach, but that's not far down the road. The beach here is a little rocky, but you can still wade out and go swimming, or directly next door is a park. For the price, this place is excellent. Personally, I much prefer a condo like this to a big, busy (and expensive) resort. We prepared and ate a lot of our meals here at the condo, especially breakfast. Stock up on some groceries and you're good to go. The kitchen has most of what you need (but buy some spices if you need it for cooking), and there are two awesome BBQ grills in a nice prep area by the pool. One of the best meals we had on Maui was when I bought FRESH fish at The Fish Market just down the street and grilled it. They had awesome poke, too! If you like fresh poke (a spicy sashimi dish), you're in Heaven! I found the best place to buy that was the Foodland in Lahaina, though. Only because they had more varieties. Anyway, totally recommend this place. Mahalo Bill! We hope to return.

  The location provides a great place to watch whales and sea turtles from the shore as well as beautiful sunsets. It is close to small local shops and a farmers market. A 10 minute drive to Lihaina is great for historical views of Hawaii and the Banyon Tree is a must see. We took a whale watch cruise from the harbour, spectacular. The accomodations are comfortable and clean and provide an affordable base from which to explore the island. We enjoyed the pool but the hot tub jets do not work.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children.

  We spent a week in Maui during the low season and loved it. The place was clean and spacious, and perfect for budget conscious travellers who want a comfortable place to stay at a great price. There are many good places to eat within walking distance, and we also enjoyed the hot tub/swimming pool outside. Thankfully the ABC store just down the road had lots of my favorite spam musubi, as I had one a day for the time I was there. Thanks for sharing this place with us!

  This was a clean,comfortable condo in an excellent location. A number of stores within walking distance and a short drive to Lahaina,which we absolutely loved. Bil was excellent at answering all our questions and his instructions re: lock box and wi-fi where easy to follow. We really enjoyed the grassy beachfront area and met a number of really nice people, This was our first visit to Maui and we will certainly be back. We would recommend this unit to anyone' Mahalo!

  The place was just as described, comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Appreciated the beach chairs! Arriving on a Sunday we found grocery stores closed and only one open restaurant, so plan ahead. Chad was quick to answer my questions and I wouldn't hesitate to rent from him again.

  This was perfect for us. We could walk to almost everything we did. The building is in a great spot. The owners took care of everything we needed. the breeze kept us cool at night. The beach front is a great set-up with everything we wanted.

  We have stayed at the Paki Maui several times in the past. We rented this unit for the entire month of February and received a very good rate,The kids shared the sofa bed as usual, but this unit is in desperate need of a new sofa bed. Also, we only received part of our security deposit back as we had issues with the color bleeding out of the towels and face cloths. We tried to replace all things damaged. We also dropped one plate and broke 2 drinking glasses. I spent hours shopping for replacement items to avoid security deposit issues. Unfortunately the owner insists on matching housewares- which explains why there were 3 sets of dishes in the cupboard. Therefore from our security deposit we were responsable to cover not only a new set of towels, dishes, and glasses, but also for paying the house keeper to go to the city to shop for these items. Other than that unpleasant experience the condo is a reasonable place to stay.

  Owner response: I`m sorry you did`nt have the vacation that everybody else that stayed in the unit did.It seems every time I rent to people with children the unit takes a heavy toll.I`ve been using the same brand of towels for years.I use them in my home.I`ve never had any problems.Teenagers using "Proactive" have destroyed a few sets.The sofabed was reupholstered and springs renewed less than a year ago.A very small fraction of my renters have children with them.Not sure how the sofa got in disrepair.My maid,who is meticulous and changes the sheets regularly,never found anything wrong with it.I have since changed my renting policy and only rent to two people maximum per stay.

  Bill's condo was a great find for our stay on Maui. It was spacious, with a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and large balcony. My husband and I enjoyed the location (close to Ka'anapali Beach and Lahaina, as well as many beaches) and used it as our base to drive to Kilhei, Hana, Haiku, Paia, and several other places. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub on the premises as well. All in all, a great find for the price and location! In addition, Bill was very responsive - he answered all questions in a timely manner and sent follow ups exactly when he said he would. This is greatly appreciated!
