FROM THE MOMENT YOU ENTER you will be surrounded by the spirit of Aloha. The first impression is from the large mirror in the dining area which reflects your initial glimpse of the Pacific Ocean and the island of Molokai. As you walk through the entry hall on the designer tile floor, your eyes are drawn to the manicured grounds including tranquil koi ponds as you again soak up the beauty of the ocean view. You can envision yourself cooking in the gourmet kitchen with granite counters, new custom maple cabinetry, new stainless steel appliances, and then realize that this will be your home for the days to come.
From the designer Granite to the new BOSCH Washer and Dryer, top of the line designer sleeper sofa, new LCD flat screen, new original artwork, new window treatments in living room and master bedroom (all 2011/2012) we have tried to attend to every detail. There is an AM/FM/CD player WITH Iphone/Ipod dock and charging unit in the home as well as two flat screen remote control televisions with satelite TV, one in the living area and one located in the master bedroom. Built in Hairdryers in both bathrooms. A major amenity appreciated by our guests is the washer and dryer conveniently located in the entry way closet (new in 2011) between the two bedrooms for our guests as well as free wireless high speed internet. Both bedrooms are on the same floor. For your added comfort, there are ceiling fans in the living area as well as in both bedrooms in addition to air-conditioning.
Papakea is unlike any other resort on the island of Maui. With 13 acres, the Papakea resort is the lowest density condominium project on the island. From the beautiful blue ocean to the lush manicured grounds, Papakea unique when compared to any other property. Grocery shopping is conveniently located directly across the street, and the charming town of Lahaina is only a short 10 minute drive. A few of the amenities on the property include 2 shuffleboards, 3 lighted tennis courts, 2 twelve hole putting greens, 2 pools, 2 whirlpool spas, 12 outdoor barbeque's and 2 beach cabanas. There is plenty of room for the kids to play outside of this convenient ground floor unit, take a stroll from the lanai to see the beautiful koi just feet away or relax with putting greens right outside your lanai door. If it is your desire to lounge on the sand or on the grass next to the ocean, you are only about 50 steps away!
Our home at J-102 of the Papakea resort means far more to us than just a rental. It is our second home that we have grown to love and appreciate. We have also tried to pay attention to every detail and hope that our guests will do the same. Our Papakea home was completely remodeled in 2009 including granite counter tops and new custom cabinetry in the kitchen and both bathrooms, natural stone accents in both bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, air-conditioning, designer fixtures, under counter and under toe lighting, a full size dishwasher and refrigerator with automatic ice maker, mirrored closets with loads of storage, tiled floors in the living areas, and plush carpet in the bedrooms.

Just returned from a 16 day stay in Papakea Resort in Maui. The unit is fantastic. We have 2 small children and this unit provided ample space for both kids to roam around with access right out the lanai to the path and the pool. It's a lovely unit with updated kitchens and bathrooms - the pictures are an accurate representation of the unit. The owners are extremely pleasant and accommodating. This is a great family friendly resort and I would highly recommend this unit.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Had a family trip to Maui - I booked my sister and her husband and two young children in this unit. I cannot describe how pleasant, accomodating and timely Kim was in responding to my questions, dealing with payment and ensuring we were all prepared for our trip. This was about as seamless a booking as I have ever had. When we arrived I checked out the unit and it was in fantastic shape, exactly as described and as shown in the pictures. We were very pleased and would strongly recommend this unit to our friends and family. Thank you Kim and Mary for allowing us to stay in your home, hopefully we can do it again sometime. Thanks for the opportunity to share your condo with us - we brought friends with us to enjoy Papakea Resort and the whales. Your unit was every thing that your pictures showed - more than enough room for two couples to enjoy. We plan on attending the 2013 Maui Invitational, but when we booked the condo we booked the condo a year ago, we had booked it for the wrong week. I emailed Mary regarding our error late one night this past week and to see if we could change the dates of our stay. She responded immediately to my late night email and made the changes. This condo at the Papakea resort was an excellent choice when we decided to vacation in Maui. The condo is exceptionally located close to everything Maui has to offer, yet just far enough from the touristy hotels. The condo is very clean, updated, well maintained, and has everything you need to enjoy a nice home-cooked dinner. Additionally, booking the place is very simple and seamless. We would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We travelled to Maui in November with our two young children. Mary and Kim's condo was the perfect home away from home for us. It is beautiful, spacious and well-equipped. The unit is very central within the Papakea complex (it easy to walk out to the pool, BBQs, etc.). We loved being able to see the ocean from the condo and listen to the surf. The resort itself is well-maintained and had great amenities including the pool, BBQs, putting greens and lovely grounds. There is a grocery store and other shops in walking distance and lots of beaches, shopping and attractions within easy driving distance. Mary and Kim were a pleasure to deal with. We appreciated their quick responses during the reservation process, their "Best of Maui" information and their willingness to answer our questions as we planned our trip. There was a problem on our first day, which was that the condo was not ready when we checked in, but Mary and Kim were prompt and gracious in addressing our concerns and the problem was quickly resolved. We thoroughly enjoyed the remainder of our stay and would not hesitate to return to this condo or to recommend it to others. We stayed in this condo for a week and it was amazing! This was the best place we have ever stayed at and it was so cozy that we felt like we were at home! The condo is very well maintained, with spacious kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and a very nice living room. We loved eating and entertaining guests on the front patio with a nice view of the ocean and Lanai. The condo is close to great snorkeling spots, shopping villages, and grocery stores also. We were able to see plenty of whales from the lawn, which was an awesome experience. The condo is in a perfect location also, because it is close to the BBQ's and the putting green. AND we got engaged while we were there. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Aloha Kim,I had intended to contact you as soon as I got home but I don't have my computer yet. We DID have a great time and we all enjoyed the condo. Emilio was very helpful and they did a great job when they came and cleaned. We were all sad to leave but we sure have had a lot to talk about since getting back. Maui probably missed us because we did help the economy while we were there. We all wanted to thank you for extending our check out time. I have already recommended your place to other people who think they may have a vacation there in the future. All of the other women said they would certainly come back there and stay. We stayed at Kim & Mary's condo for 4 days. Their condo is perfectly situated near the pool and ocean. The views were amazing to see, especially in the morning. Their condo was perfect for my family of 6. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. I loved that there were 2 spacious bathrooms, big closets, and a washer/dryer. The resort is close to supermarkets/restaurants and a lot of attractions (Old Lahaina Luau, downtown Lahaina). Kim & Mary sent us recommendations which were so helpful in planning our trip. We were able to see Haleakala, did the Road to Hana, Old Lahaina Luau, dined at Sensei. The beaches are also close the condo. Kim & Mary were also quick to responding to any questions I had. Will definitely stay here again if we ever get the chance to come back to Maui. Thanks for a great vacation stay! renting this condo for our vacation in Maui was the best idea for so many reasons. Kim and Mary were so wonderful, answered any question i had, helped with activity ideas etc. I felt like I was at home in their condo. Everything I could have possibly needed was there. it is close to so many things. The resort is beautiful and so well maintained. The condo was emaculate. the beds were comfortable and the view was wonderful. I was so comfortable there that i didn't want to leave. We were there for my son's wedding so there were a lot of family and friends on the island and several families that rented condos at the Papakea as well. So we had a few bbq's by the pool. All in all it was a wonderful expierence and I will be recommending Kim and Mary to all my family and friends and I do plan to contact them again myself ... again and again. About the owner: Our primary residence is in Yorba Linda, California. We visit our home in Maui as often as we are able and make every effort to make our guests feel as much at home as we do. We are primarily retired but Mary works part time as a director of Volunteers for a social services agency and Kim produces short movie clips for non-profit organizations. We have truly come to love our Maui home at Papakea and hope that our guests will feel the same way.
Why the Owner Chose Papakea Resort:
Sitting on 13 beautiful acres, Papakea stood out far and away from other developments in the Kaanapali area. We love the low density, the quiet atmosphere, the feeling of community and the amenities that make us feel on vacation and at home all at the same time. It seems easy to either meet new friends or socialize with old friends simply cooking at the barbeque or just soaking up the magnificent sunset views at the edge of the beach.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our favorite times at Papakea are having coffee on the beach early in the morning and those famous Maui sunsets and sharing those times with neighbors, friends and visitors. It is great being close to everything including shopping and some of the worlds finest restaurants. We also look forward to our morning walks on the nearly 2 miles of sandy beach.
