Just what we were looking for. A real 1 bedroom unit with everything, even for the beach. Off the main strip so it is a little quieter, walk to everything, bus on the corner. Steve is very helpful. Glad we booked again for June. Suggest you use the local buses, it is very easy and cheap way to get around.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We loved our stay in Waikiki ! The condo was great and the location perfect! A big thank you to Steve High! We will definitely be back. A few small items that could be added to the condo are a blow dryer, and perhaps a non slip mat for the tub/shower. Thanks again to Steve for being so accommodating with our requests! Mahalo!Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

Had an amazing month in this well located comfortable condo. So nice to have a kitchen and I picked up great fruits and veggies at the farmer's market on Saturdays by the zoo. The king size bed was extra nice and we enjoyed the comfy furniture inside and outside on the balcony. It wasn't noisy at all, and well located as to the laundry facilities. Thanks to Steve High who was always available, we had no problems. The phone was handy, too, and we bought a phone card for long distance calls. Waikiki seems to have the best weather. We didn't even need to rent a car, as buses are close by.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

Our stay was so pleasant and the suite is nice and roomy, with everything you need for a long stay..we stayed one month here. Loved the balcony furniture, and the way the sun hits the balcony at just the right time. The nice garden below provides a beautiful scene during the day, and twinkly lights at night make it all surreal. The location is on the quieter side of Waikiki, but steps away from the beach and the excitement, and great restaurants..our favourite being the Cheesecake FactoryThe buffet at the Marriot is worth it; check it out for sure. The bus stop is so close and convenient, but not close enough to be noisy. We always love to walk around the Zoo and Park and Beach area there; or watch surfers and the sunset on the Pier, or swim in the buffered area just beside the Pier, and it is all within walking distance. Weather is always the best in Waikiki. We didn't use the hideabed, but the King Size bed was very comfy.Nice to have two TV's too, and a door on the bedroom,, in case one person wants to go to bed early. Things like that make a vacation just a little more special. LOVED IT!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Staying at the Waikiki Sunset was convenient and comfortable. PROS: The hardwood floors are great. We got compliments every time other guests walked by our unit as we were coming and going. The granite in the kitchen and bathroom in beautiful. I especially enjoyed the versatile granite countertop that we used for dining, folding laundry, wrapping presents, and kitchen prep. Great closet space, both in the bedroom and bathroom. There are a few drawers in the bathroom where you can store your toiletries. Also, there is a good amount of counter space to the side of the sink for make-up and what-not. The unit is at the end of the hall, so you don't share a bedroom wall with another unit. However, you do share a wall with the trash chute. Laundry facilities are convenient, but have been moved from the 8th floor to the 7th floor. I do not know if they were moved permanently or just for repairs. There was building maintenance going on during our stay, painting and concrete repair. Having parking included with the unit was a big plus. There was ample open parking throughout 5 levels. The building is located on a one way street that only leads to another one way street. Being a kama'aina, it's not too bad since I knew my way around. But I can see how it could be tricky not knowing if you should circle around to Kapahulu or go all the way down Ala Wai Blvd. There are many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. We always saw shuttles and trolleys picking up guests for attractions or tours so transportation is not a problem if you choose not to rent a vehicle. If you watch Man vs. Food, manhole sized pancakes at Mac 24/7 is only 2 blocks away at the Prince Kuhio. Or if you're looking for a great steak, Hy's Steak House is within walking distance as well. CONS: The AC is on the louder side, but very strong when you need to cool the unit down. The king bed is great but slumps on the sides. The shower is a little dark and the shower head spray needs to be tweaked to get the water flow you like. Usually very quiet at night, but if there is a loud group down the hall you can hear it from the bedroom. The front door has a gap at the bottom where sounds and smells can get into the unit. There were only blackout drapes, no second privacy curtains that let light in but still allow for privacy. This meant the unit was dark most of the day. The pool is only in the sun the first half of the day, then in the building's shadow after noon.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful time. The unit was very nice. Excactly as pictured on this site. I was able to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner for my son and a few of his friends. Within walking distance to the beach and Waikiki. The washer and dryer on 7th floor very convenient and so was the little store on the 5th floor. We were able to bbq burgers during our stay with the use of a bbq on the 6th floor pool deck. Thank you so much Steve High for your help and I recommend that anyone wanting to stay in a nice place with all the conveniences of home you should defiantly stay her. Also, the television had cable and there is a computer (for a charge) room with big screen television on the 6th floor. Thank you again. Sheridan S. (Washington State)Owner response: Aloha: Thank you so much for all of your kind words about our unit at the Waikiki Sunset. One block from the beach, one block from the Zoo and a building full of great amenities including: swimming pool, men's and women's saunas, tennis court, bar-b-ques, convenience store ATM machine, beach rental store and more. This is a comfortable unit with a king sized and flat screen in a seperate bedroom, full size kitchen queen size sofa bed, phone service, high speed internet and parking. Thanks again for all of you comments and I hope we are able to assist you with your next trip to Waikiki. Steve High Property Manager

Large Beautiful Unit...allowed us the space to spread ourselves out, it was perfect for my family of four. Everything New and very Clean and the Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need should you choose to prepare a meal. There is also a nice dining area to sit and enjoy that same meal. Master Bedroom is very spacious and includes a very comfortable King size bed, large screen TV mounted on the wall and lots of closet and drawer space. The living is also quite spacious and comfortable with a large screen in there as well. Even with the sofa Bed pulled out the room was not crowded and there is a nice desk that was perfect for the kids to set up their Lap Tops and do their homework. And this unit includes not only Free internet service, but Free parking too! If you've ever visited Waikiki before, you know not only is parking hard to come by, it can be quite expensive. Which is another reason we really liked this unit, unless we were sightseeing we could leave the car parked because there are Great Restaurants (I suggest Hy's Steak House), stores (Shopping & Grocery), and the Beach, Zoo, etc..all within a block or two of the Unit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Aloha: Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for us. It's all true! The Waikiki Sunset is a great location with great amenities. Our unit was recently recently and throughfully remodeled. Thank you once again, Steve High Property Manager
