Fabulous View, Needs Some Work

The location of this condo is fabulous! However, the condo itself could use some work. The blinds in the master bedroom would not go down making it very difficult to dress, sleep, or have any type of privacy (people below in the bar and on the slope wave at you). After two emails addressing the issue, the owner did not respond and the blinds remained up the entire week. He did however offer to bring us a new mattress because of a previous complaint from another renter (very firm and you roll to the middle). We declined because of the inconvenience. The WiFi was not working (the directions we were given were outdated) as well as the TV in the bedroom. Owner was made aware, but seemed unconcerned (he was busy in the outback). Cabinet doors don't close completely, the bathroom door would not close unless you lifted it and turned the knob at the same time, lamp in the bedroom had burned out light bulb, molding around hearth was completely loose presenting a true tripping hazard,...the list goes on. It would not take much attention from the owner to make this condo top notch! It is a good thing it is in such a great location...otherwise, my rating would be lower.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

I would like to let you know that we had a great time in Whistler and your condo is a wonderful place to stay. It was clean and spacious, the location is perfect, right across the gondola and right in the middle of everything. We will come back for sure. Thank you for being a great host.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My experience with the owner was that he was very responsive. He personally called us on the second day of our stay to make sure everything was okay. The bottom line is I received very good value for my money and “Whistlers Best” will be my first choice on future trips to Whistler.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed at Carleton Lodge 402 for 5 days during Thanksgiving and it was everything as advertised. It is the best location and shortest walk to access the Blackcomb and Whistler gondolas equally. It is also very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and the popular night life establishments. Yes it can be loud at night but if you decide to stay in the center of the village action it should be expected. It did not affect our sleep. The view from the unit is incredible.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: I have lived full time in Whistler for 20 years and I am a Certified Ski & Snowboard instructor as well as a Guiding Service. I take pleasure in sharing my Local Knowledge & Great Deals with you. With my passion & long time experience (100+ days on snow per season for the past 12 years), it would be my pleasure & a ton of fun to show you ‘my mountains’ with many secret pockets & powder stashes, either on snowboard or skis. Weather, snow, wind, light, etc. always change the ‘sweet spots’ in the mountains & without proper knowledge of these elements & the terrain, you cannot always be sure of finding the right places to match your ability. Provided you are advanced-intermediate or above, I (or one of my colleagues) can expertly guide you to the BEST places of the day & make sure that you stay in YOUR zone – as opposed to finding yourselves in areas too easy, or too challenging. We are all Certified Instructors, and offer ‘tips’ throughout the day, but this is free skiing/riding & NOT School! The cost for this is usually $500 a day for up to 3 persons but as a Whistler's Best Guest you get it for $250. ($50 per person thereafter) Sorry, we don’t have lift line privileges, but with our knowledge we know how to avoid lift lines. Please try to book this early, as it’s very popular. Stay in our 4 Star Whistler vacation rentals and discover Whistler-Blackcomb with the largest vertical rise and the most ski & snowboard terrain in ALL North America!! Let's go play outside, Alan
