Come enjoy the relaxed beach lifestyle in a comfortable fully-stocked house with plenty of space inside and out. The bathrooms were completely remodeled in June, 2011. This is not a tiny cottage, but a beautifully decorated family home just a block from the water's edge! This home is perfect for a vacation getaway or for the traveling professional who wants all the comfort and conveniences of home.
You will be greeted by two 100-foot palm trees and a lush lawn at the front of the house. All new stylish furnishings make you feel pampered throughout. From the large family area, enjoy the bay-window's views out to the landscaped yard, watch the flat screen HDTV, or just recline in the flickering light from the real wood-burning fireplace. The house is filled with natural light, and feels clean and bright.
There are 3 bedrooms: 2 rooms that each have a pillow-top queen sized bed, and one with twin bunk-beds. The master bath has a tiled shower with frameless glass surround, vessel sink, and floor with river-rock insets. The second bath has a tiled tub/shower combo. Both baths feature beautiful glass-tile accents.
From the backyard, you can catch a glimpse of the ocean about 200 yards away. Dine alfresco on the covered patio with table and chairs for 6 and lounges for two. You'll love the privacy of the large fenced yard with plenty of grass on which to play.
Walk to the ocean bluffs with a park and popular surfing spot at the end of the street. It's a great place to watch the sunset and spot sea lions & otters in the surf. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with sidewalks, making morning walks safe and relaxing. If you enjoy running, hiking, or road & mountain biking, endless loops await you.

After many searches for a vacation rental, we came across this home and were instantly pleased. The home is tastefully decorated and in a quiet neighborhood, which instantly appealed to us. One of our favorite things to do was to take our coffee and walk down to the ocean in the mornings. The home was clean and well maintained. It boasts updated bathrooms with beautiful natural stone. There is an open kitchen, so it was very easy to cook meals. However, if you want to eat out, there are many restaurants within walking distance. The owners were helpful in answering our questions and they were a pleasure to rent from.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

We enjoyed every week of our stay in this charming, comfortable, clean, and fully-equipped home. It is ideally located in a quiet, safe neighborhood with excellent access to the beach, highways, restaurants, and nearby sites. We found the home in immaculate condition when we arrived, and it was clear that the owners have taken great care to ensure that visitors have a wonderful experience. Communications with the owner were always prompt and friendly. We whole-heartedly recommend this property for a relaxing and worry-free stay on the gorgeous coastline of California's Central Coast.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Perfect in every way. We are coming back to spend next summer again. Love the yard and the ability to switch from sun to shade when the need arises. Home is in a perfect location, central to all that the central coast has to offer. This year enjoyed Santa Barbara, Hearst castle as well as the five local cities. Don't miss "Montana De Oro" in Los Osos. Owners and agent are very responsive to problems and to satisfy all appropriate needsRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We stayed here for a month and the house was perfect for our visit. It is in a safe and quiet neighborhood and close to San Luis Obispo where we have family. The house looks just like the photos. It is very well appointed and there was plenty of room for visiting family & friends. Kitchen is very well equipped, nice patio and yard. Couldn't have asked for much more. Numerous little shops & restaurants within walking distance and easy access to the ocean. Will definitely be backRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Lovely house with all the amenities. Everything is fresh, clean and looks just like the photos. Wonderfully maintained. Comfortable homey space. Has two queen beds and a room with bunk beds for kids. Dining on the back patio was a treat. Nice enclosed backyard space. Close to dining and has a little market/deli a block away. Nice neighborhood, great for walking. Take your bikes and ride to town, the beach and restaurants. Perfect location to stay on the central coast. Would be fantastic for a girls getaway. I definitely hope to stay there again and would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: My husband and I are both natives of Southern California coastal communities. We love our current home in the Monterey Bay area, but miss the warm sunny days at the beach that we remember from our youths. Shell Beach has that Southern California beach town feel... without the sprawl and traffic! Now we're able to relive the joys of the beach lifestyle that we remember so fondly, while building great new memories with our children.
Why the Owner Chose Shell Beach:
Shell Beach is the smaller, quieter, more residential area adjacent to Pismo Beach to the north. We love riding our bikes to a local spot for breakfast, then going to hunt for shells on the beach. We can walk around the corner to a fabulous deli/bakery/wine shop - the owner makes his own fresh cheeses! My daughters' favorite thing to do in the afternoon is to get ice cream cones, then go to the playground where we often stay for hours - it's right on the water. We watch the surfers and enjoy the sun while they play to their hearts' content. When we want some downtime, relaxing in the lounge chairs in the back yard is like heaven. We never even turn on the TV!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our neighborhood is right on the ocean bluffs! Its larger lot sizes, wide streets and sidewalks are so much more comfortable for a family home or relaxing retreat than most beach side areas. Yet we are only a short block from the water, and can walk or bike to everything we might need! There's even a lesser-known sandy beach with great tide pools just a half mile away - with no crowds or parking problems!
