Sagle house description
The property is located just across the Long Bridge from Sandpoint on a tree-studded lot that slopes gently from Lakeshore Drive to the lake. The trees are old growth cedars and Tamarack pines. There is 150 feet of lake front including a dock, sandy beach, and a fire pit. The low-sloping lake bottom provides for shallow water near the beach that warms up nicely in the summer. The temperature of the water is much warmer than the deep areas of the lake and the bottom is small pebbles rather than mud but best of all, no milfoil infestation!
The main house is a recently remodeled three bedroom, three bathroom home set up to provide privacy while promoting interaction. Two of the bedrooms are suites (private bathrooms) with separate entrances. The great room includes an open-beam living room with a large stone fireplace, a spacious dining area with a large, family-style table, and an open kitchen.
There is a large surrounding deck to enjoy the unsurpassed views of Sandpoint's night light reflection glimmering on the water. The sunsets and mountain views are fabulous.
A laundry room rounds out the attention to convenience.
The kitchen is well supplied with dishes and settings for 8-10 people.
A bunkhouse-style cabin for the kids is just a few feet from the main house. It is available by arrangement.
We especially enjoy the beach. It is a joy to sit around a fire in the bonfire pit and gaze across the water at the beautiful small town of Sandpoint with Schwitzer ski mountain as a picturesque backdrop. This view is also extraordinary in the early morning hours when the birds are fishing! This is a gest way to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
A walk or jog across the Long Bridge into town is an early morning or evening treat.
Off-street parking is abundant.
By arrangement, other dwellings on adjacent property can be made available individually or as a family compound or corporate retreat.

This IS an awesome HOME
This IS an awesome HOME
We thoroughly loved our week. What a super location in a very well thought out, clean and comfortable home. As noted earlier, the private beach, dock (with a diving board) and fire pit was the frosting on the cake. While we did some sightseeing and recommend that you do (farmers market, art galleries and restaurants in Sandpoint are recommended) we made sure to spend a lot of time on the beach. The s ’mores kit provided by the owners was put to good use – what a nice touch. We look forward to our return.

Our family loved our stay!
Our family loved our stay!
The best part about our stay was enjoying our own private beach and fire pit! We enjoyed the property so much that we barely spent time away from it other than a couple of short trips to Sandpoint. Our children loved swimming on the little stretch of beach and jumping off the diving board. My wife and I brought along our mothers and my grandmother and they enjoyed relaxing in the house and by the lake. The house and the entire property was great for our family get away. We don't have much of a budget for vacation so this was a big splurge for us and we were not disappointed. The property was everything that the descriptions said it would be and the owners were pleasant to deal with through the entire process.

Manager response: Thank you for your kind review. There are a couple of additional improvements: the house now has handicap access, access to the beach has provided with railings, the beach now has improved seating at the fire pit area and a more accessible fire pit. We are thrilled you enjoyed yourselves and hope you return soon. Thank you.

We were very happy with our stay in Sagle. The property we were staying at was very accurate with its description - what we were told we were having was all there. We were pleasantly surprised with the bedrooms because there were not many photos to go by, it was all in the description. We thought the property was very well maintained and very well equipped for our stay there. Prior to our arrival, any correspondence with the owner was met with a prompt response and all questions answered. It was a pleasure to do do business with the owner, he made made everything easy for us with the booking, throughout our stay there and even on our departure/arrival back home. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. We were undisturbed on the property and the actual house and the grounds were safe enough for the kids to play around. There was a very good selection of shops, including an excellent grocery store that the owner suggested. This made it very easy for getting provisions for the week. The main attraction for the children was their visit to Silverwood. The location of the property provided an easy drive to the park and surrounding areas for the hikes that we went on.

My family and I spent 9 days here and we had a great time. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need. All is very clean, comfortable and the cottage itself is top notch. Our family spent many days simply hanging around the dock and we all loved the diving board. Its less than 2 miles to Sandpoint so "going to town" is no big deal. The owners made sure we had everything we needed. The views from the dock and cottage are beautiful. Our kids had a blast. Already looking forward to next year.

I couldn't have imagined a more perfect vacation. The panoramic views from the dock are breath-taking while the house itself is lovely with an open concept kitchen, living, and dining area. There are plenty of cooking implements and even a few spices to make use of. You'll find the master bedroom to be spacious and well appointed with a master bath that won't disappoint. The other bedrooms are perfect for children and guests. I'd have to say that my favorite thing (other than the wild berries on the property) was the fact that there was *no* milfoil in the water off the dock. My husband and I took a canoe into other parts of the lake where the water plants were thick. That would have ruined my vacation. What's more, the owner left some really nice personal touches to greet us upon our arrival. She really went out of the way to make us feel welcome. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Idaho Vacation: Pend Oreille
We decided to take a last minute vacation and managed to find this property on the internet. The owners were very helpful with our last minute request and were able to get us in on a short notice. Overall the property exceeded our expectations and we found it very accommodating for our needs. The property is centrally located near restaurants and shopping in Sandpoint just 5 minutes away. Jet Ski and boat rental is available at Bottle Bay Marina about 15 minutes away and Silverwood Theme Park about 25 miles away. Some great extras at this property which include a full kitchen with island and all the amenities (refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, dishes). The flooring throughout the house seemed recently refinished and all bathrooms are upgraded. The floor plan was open with plenty of space not to mention the laundry room, which came in handy. There are 3 outside patios and the main section attached to the living room has a slight obstructed view of the lake but overall very serene and plenty of space for a BBQ or outside hosting. The beach and dock combination is awesome for a summer swim after a long day at Silverwood. The kids loved jumping off the dock into the cool water. The water depth is around 8-10 feet so plenty of room to swim around. The beach is well maintained with a fire pit just a few feet by the water and plenty of firewood on the property. It’s a great place to watch the sunset around the fire pit while roasting marshmallows. In the morning we enjoyed fishing off the dock while watching the sunrise and the wildlife coming alive. On the second day I noticed a hawk perched in the tree above catch a small fish and take up to his nest. That was an interesting site. The owners are very accommodating and take pride in this property. They arranged a welcome basket for the kids which kicked off the first day at the fireplace making smores. The kids loved hanging out in the bungalow during the day as their private retreat. This is a great site for families or small groups to enjoy. We look forward to a return visit next summer. The owners are very pleasant and I want to thank them for taking the time out to help us with the lodging arrangements.

About: I am originally from Wisconsin and my husband is from Arizona. We purchased the property as a family gathering place and anticipate retiring here. We have lived in a number of areas including, San Diego, Lake Tahoe and the Bay Area. We love the outdoors and the water. We fell in love with this property because it offers so much of what we enjoy. It is always hard to leave but so wonderful to look forward to. My favorite thing to do is grab a morning beverage and head out on the deck or dock and just take in as much in as I can absorb. This is our get-away. The house remodeled and very comfortable with plenty of supplies.
This property is only about a two miles from Sandpoint, with all that lovely town has to offer. We acquired the property to host gatherings of family and friends and future retirement. Both winter and summer activities are near, so it has become a base for year round enjoyment. All who visit it have had a wonderful stay and take away fond memories. Our family is involved in numerous weddings in other states this summer and have decided to offer our vacation home to others. We look forward to answering any questions and supplying additional pictures.
