Saquish Beach, Cottage on Water! Private Beach

Escape the distractions of the world and experience nature on a secluded beach. Our 'HIGH TIDE Cottage' is a located on a peninsula (Saquish Peninsula) seven miles from the towns of Duxbury and Plymouth and the nearest shopping. A 4-wheel vehicle is a necessary mode of transportation.
'HIGH TIDE' sleeps 8 with three queen bed rooms and a bunk room. The cottage has a wrap around deck and a crow's nest deck, too, providing panoramic views. You may choose to sleep and/or eat here under the stars. The kitchen is fully-equipped and appliances use propane. If there is a chill in the air, the black pot-belly stove stands by to warm you. Since we are powered by propane and solar, evening light is provided by quaint lamps. Fresh water flows directly from our well.
Since there is also no electricity (and no EMFs), leave your computers at home. You can, however, use your cell phones, if you remember to call your friends at home. We must warn you, though, they may get envious of your relaxing seclusion on a white sandy beach and sparkling blue ocean right down your footpath. Especially if you tell them how you slept late, strolled the beach, read a book, had a swim, cooked lobster and steamed clams with S'mores for dessert over your own bonfire! Oh, yes, be sure to let them know that you can even see Plymouth and the spot where the Pilgrims landed from the comfort of your own bed.. .Or, you may want to keep 'HIGH TIDE COTTAGE' as your own secret retreat
ABOUT OUR 'HIGH TIDE' BEACH COTTAGE: Our parents always dreamed of a beach cottage and found this private, secluded beach upon which to build in 1958. It was only an hour and half away from our primary residence of Ashland, Massachusetts. We spent EVERY weekend and EVERY vacation at 'HIGH TIDE' for about 15 years while growing up. It was so beautiful and peaceful that we could not dream of going anywhere else on earth. My sister and I would wait anxiously every Friday night for our parents to pack up the car. We would arrive at our cottage late at night and the tides would always be high. So, the neighbors would call us 'High Tide'. You will see this nostalgic name carved in one of the cottage beams.
ABOUT ME: Although I live in Georgia now, I still love visiting the cottage and reminiscing about my boyhood at Saquish. I learned to drive my dad's beach buggy on the beach when I was only seven years old. I would hang out with my friends and go clamming, water skiing, boating, and sailing. As a teenager we had bonfire parties on the beach. The simplicity that I enjoyed as a young man, still exists today at our family cottage. Come to 'HIGH TIDE' and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the past.
